Tip to deal with tangled braids:
Instead of pulling through with two fingers to loosen the tangle as you braid, use one finger. Using two fingers tightens the tangle at the bottom as you're pulling through.

Thanks for that tip I'll also have to try this...I usually spray down the length of my braid hair (after I attach the base) with Lusters Pink Glosser...works wonders...can usually breeze right through
Sherma Pogson also adding just a little bit of oil to the attachments reduces tangles A LOT!

If you don’t wanna pay $400, this style is pretty easy to do on yourself. I posted a video doing my own knotless braids for the first time and it wasn’t that hard. ☺️

400 dollars is well within reason. It's knotless. Medium sized. Floor length. Customized colors (ombred in the way it's mixed). Box braids. That you are doing solely by yourself. t's a lot of factors in this style as to why the price is justifiable, in this case. If anybody had a problem with this price? They not looking for quality whatsoever.
As for the style itself. It looked absolutely amazing af. It was crisp, clean and uniquely you and fit the client to a tee. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Pro braiders here average $50-60/hr. Doesn't matter what style... they price by the hours it takes now.
I charge more than that , I’m over booked so I mean 🤷🏽♀️ people pay for my time if they want it or they can choose to go to someone else. I don’t think people understand that at the end of the day we are entrepreneurs, we don’t get retirement, 401k, medical all that comes out of our pockets and on top of that my body is on the line. If they don’t understand that they don’t need to sit in my chair.

I am well aware that box braids on a non-black person is put by default under cultural appropriation. But here’s the thing, it is a protective hairstyle. I am middle eastern with a type 3A-3B curly hair that is prone to breakage since it is processed and i wanna grow it out. having a protective hairstyle will save me a lot of hassle in my daily life, and since i have the appropriate hair texture required to have this type of a protective hairstyle, can i still do it? Im not doing it for the aesthetic, i’m doing it for the benefits and the functionality. I genuinely do not want to offend anyone by having it. I am well aware and well educated on the history of black hairstyles and protective hairstyles in general since i’m a hair-nerd myself. My hair needs the protection boxbraids provide for it to grow out in a healthy way
I'm about to do my hair this length with the same hair and let me tell you stretching that hair is more than a workout my thumb is bruised from gripping the brush to detangle it. They need to start making that lenght pre stretched.

Whitney Olivia depends on how straight your hair is. I say anything before 2b, I’d research to see ppl with your similar texture getting braids. But keep in mind the tighter your curl is, the easier it can be gripped that’s why I’d only get braids if you’re hair type 3 to 4.

$400 is reasonable. I'm a braider too and where Im from people are so cheap, they would pay $150 for this. People don't realize the time effort you put into braids. Complaining but would pay that much for a weave. So what's the problem please tell me? Braids can last for a long time and if done properly u will get your moneys worth!!!!
