My Dear, I wanted to say that the way you present this recipe is just beautiful. I know we aren’t supposed to be negative but some other you tubers that have made this recipe are too goofy, or try to be cause but just end up coming across obnoxious. You were sweet, delightful and fun just like your cake. Thank you for this video.
I wanted to make this cake, but since my city's currently in another COVID lockdown, I was unable to procure the cake ring or acetate sheets. I ended up just cutting the sheet cake into thirds and piling them one atop the other in a rectangle shape, while still following the directions. This way you don't need to mush pieces together to make the bottom layer. The sides did not look as neat as in the video, but the cake tasted fantastic all the same. Thanks for your video help!
hello, thanks for the amazing video. may I ask if there is any substitute for the grapeseed oil in the crumbles batter? and may I know what is the used of baking powder in the process of making the frosting? thankyou so much !
The grapeseed oil can be replaced with canola oil, sunflower oil, soft flavor olive oil or any neutral flavor oil. As far as the baking powder in the frosting I'm guessing it's to make it "fluffier". Good luck!
If i cant get grapeseed oil, ive used conola oil 👌 good luck! And the use of baking powder in the frosting? Umm thats a great question, i believe Tosi says it more about the flavour the baking powder gives to the frosting! Thats it really 🙌 Happy baking
The recipe doesn't say how much rainbow sprinkles to put in the crumb mix. Can you please tell me. Also what size ring did you use and what size pan to bake the cake in. Will be making soon and need to know.
I’ve tried this recipe multiple times and the crumbs just melted together in the oven and made this huge extremely crisp and overly chewy layer. I’ve followed the recipe down to the gram. Not sure what I’m doing wrong
Hi what size of pan do I need to use? Can I use 3 round pan? Can I double the recipe and baked 3 9 inch round pan? Should i mix the double recipe at ounce or one by one? Thanks
I baked this cake yesterday for my birthday and I was very proud of my self, but the cake felt very greasy in my opinion. I weighed each ingredient accordingly to the original recipe though... is it only my perception or do you also had the same feeling that there is too much fat/oil in this cake?
Thanks so much for this! Ok, so I made a test cake last week to test for taste and now I’m ready to make it again for my sister’s bday cake on Sunday. I’ve read that I need to set this cake in the freezer? Do you suggest making the cake the day of and refrigerate before the party (afraid it won’t set enough) or should I make it the night before and freeze it? The party is in the afternoon and now I have no idea what to do
Dorothy Ko woohoo! So great to hear your making this cake for your sister's bday she will love it!!! I usually make this cake the day before and freeze over night, take it out the next day pop it in the fridge to defrost..then let it come to room temp for an hr or more pleasee dont eat this cake straight out of the fridge!! Always bring it to room temp!
Wendy Lowan oh no! Im so sorry to hear wendy that it didnt turn out for you, keep trying and let me know what went wrong maybe i can help with some tips, was it the batter or icing?
Hey Wendy, did you figure it out? I tried making this cake today for the first time and my batter came out liquid too. Redid it and it still came out to liquid.

My crumbles were very fine what did I do wrong? Is flour shifted or dredged?
Pretty cake. How tall is your metal cake ring?
Krizia C i have two cake rings and both a 2 inch or 3 inch high ring works fine! 👌
Did you find a difference using plain flour verses cake flour?
What is shortening and how can I replace it in this recipe?

@@krn9254 I just made this cake and my batter was perfect. It helps to slowly add the wet ingredients and beat it for about 6 mins :)
What is the size of the cake ring you used?
M Willson heyy! I use a 6 inch ring, you can buy these at any cake supplier store or online
