wild and great video! I just wanted to point out that I actually had a terrible headache and attitude when I arrived to Yosemite Valley, and my girlfriend had a normal day with no pressure or headache issues... I wonder how many men feel this same situation, do you think its adjustment to the elevation? I felt your pain, thank you for sharing!
Great video and you guys rocked it despite the wrong turn and water troubles. If I may ask what Arcteryx rain jacket were you wearing in the video. I am planning to do a very similar hike in June and am looking for a good rain jacket.
Great video! You guys rocked it despite the wrong turn and water troubles. I am planning to do a similar hike in June (or JMT if I get the permit). I noticed you were wearing an Arcteryx rain jacket. I am in the market for one and wondering if you have a recommendation or can tell me the model you have. Arcteryx makes like 5 million different models of jackets :)
Thanks for your comment and apologies for the late response, I imagine you found a jacket by now! Unfortunately the jacket that I (Olga) have looks to be discontinued - it's the Zeta SL, but I think it's fairly similar to their current Beta model.
If you had it to do all over again, would you plan for day 1 in Lyell Canyon with a first night's camp at Evelyn Lake, or would you take the more direct route from Tuolumne Meadow to Vogelsang? My wife and I just got a permit for this same trip.
Evelyn Lake was a beautiful spot to camp and probably nicer than Vogelsang, but that route made day 1 4 miles longer and day 2 2 miles longer which pushed us to our limit. If you're comfortable with longer distances I would recommend the route we did, but I do think it may be worth saving some energy for the big elevation on day 3 and going direct to Vogelsang. It was a beautiful trip, enjoy!
@@mattandolga3259 Thank you! I got a permit to go direct to Vogelsang. That day 3 elevation, with no promise of water at Sunrise Camp, is a bit worrying. I plan to carry an extra bladder for that climb so we don't have to push through to Cathedral Lakes. Thanks for the advice!
She is the resilient one.
Oh yeah, I’m envious!
What a beautiful journey ever. The place is attractive and serene. Be safe and enjoy the nature views. Keep in touch my friend.
Hello! I know it's been a while, but can I ask you which permit is required for this trip? Lyell Canyon trailhead (Rafferty) I assume? Thank you!
Sorry about the slow response! It's the Rafferty Creek->Vogelsang entry and exit permit.
Nice Hike!

Interesting! Matt hasn't felt altitude on other hikes, but maybe it contributed to it!
Incredible

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
