Just wanted to add that the Lakers actually were 8-2 in their next 10 games and 50-21 the rest of the season after Westphal was fired. The five game losing streak never happened and was dramatized to give Riley an arc for this episode.
The LAL went 17-3 after the Westhead firing then had a slump where they went 10-10 over the next 20 and that's when Riley went around the locker room calling players out and then they went 25-8 the rest of the way.
@@killgoretrout9000 An astute observation! My point is that the team didn't suffer a 5 game losing streak, which is far from going .500 for a small stretch during their run to the 1st seed in the west and a chip. I don’t mind that they dramatize characters or behind the scenes conversations, but don’t like when they alter verifiable historical events. It would’ve made more sense for him to rip into the team before his first game as coach, and for that to have inspired the 17-3 run where they started to beat teams more convincingly.
