Interesting, I believe it's because the fusion core consumption is rather reduced by that percentage, rather than increasing it's life, if it makes sense. So for a total bonus of 95% fusion core increase duration, it is actually 95% less draining from it, which is crazy amazing, a 20x (times) life of the core. The only problem is that bubble heads and magazines are just rare consumable items, most of us will never use them anyway.
Unless the effect is written wring, the total as a reduction should be 86%. A percentage increase is not the same as a percentage decrease: doubling the capacity would be a 100% increase while a matching decrease in usage would be just 50%, a 30% increase in capacity would be a 24% usage decrease, and a 15% increase would be 12% as a reduction. All told that would be a combined reduction of 86%, not 95%

I have “Electric Absorption” equipped and must be getting hit by energy weapons a lot because I use the plasma caster in VATS and burn through fusion cores very slowly.
"Currently the new PA is NOT working as intended." haha that gave me a nice little chuckle. But in all honestly, I am curious if the new PA will have a significant difference in Fusion Core drain. As I could really like the option to make a truly tanky heavy gunner with heavy vats usage, that doesn't constantly burn through cores. That would be a huge improvement if the devs can pull that off with the new update. Plus, if the raids continue to be added upon in the future, maybe we really can start to see support roles for these raids. We already have reworks to Medics, and Perks called "Tanky".
@@686Impulse686 i feel core usage should be lowered and/or be customized based on the weapon it’s damage/fire rate. Super powerful weapons like the Fatman or missile launchers should cost more core usage and vats ap cost but things like the lmg, or the majority’s of heavies shouldn’t be a burden. New players can’t play in power armour unless they go farm cores or afk at a power plant. Making a power armour set specifically to counter this issue just makes it worse. And with all the changes to heavy gunners and vats it’s more of a problem now than before

There's still value in crafting cores without crafting Gatling Lasers. Any cores created from crafting Gatling Lasers will be 100/100 charge (2000 AP worth), and its 1:1, 1 Core for one weapon When you craft them directly, you can (With Tier 4 Ammo Factory Legendary perk + Ammo Smith Perk) craft 4 and potentially 5 Fusion cores (Super Duper Perk) that are subject to your Intelligence bonuses (Maxes out at 20) This means 1 of each Flux can be used to craft up to 5 Fusion Cores with 200% condition. With the addition of Power User that would mean a single Fusion core has 6000 AP worth of charge instead of the 2000 he displays prior to swapping Power User

I love doing silos with electric absorption on my T65 you just stand there and nothing kills you and recharges your fusion core while also healing you givers you time to kill all turrets and assaultrons easily plus you can make fusion core at workbench
It is so stupid that using vats in PA uses fusion core charge . Fusion cores should just run the PA alone or whatever weapon using fusion cores as ammo. It is just another reason why I feel heavy guns are almost better in Unyielding armor set and low health . Don't get me started on carry weight difference between full Unyielding and PA.

Honestly, even using your lazy heavy gunner/lazy autoaxer builds, with no Electric Absorption legendary perk... I seem to hover around the same number of fusion cores. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down. I use the fusion core recharger in my camp only occasionally, like once a week. Mind you, I'm not using fusion cores for ammo.
Probably because the Power User perk isn't reducing the core drain, but doubling the value of the core charges. Instead of providing a reduction of 50% drain, it's raising the AP per Core from 2000 to 4000, which is why any Gatling Laser that uses it ALSO see's their weapons ammunition rise to 999 instead of 500 Another thing Turtle may have forgotten to mention is Fully Powered Perk (Depending on the update and what breaks, or what's using older/improperly compiled builds) has, or CAN have a marked effect on AP to Fusion Core depletion rates. While the perk specifies it only works for drain accumulated by sprinting AP costs it in the past has worked for ANY Core Drain costs. So the only things that lower it were Jetpacking, and VATS. outside of rarer events such as Radiation damage (Ghoul slaps used to damage the hell out of Fusion Cores) Floater Freezer Ice Breath (Still damages Fusion Cores today) Gamma Gun/Radium Rifle (Same as Ghoul slaps)
Now that heavy guns are getting looked at more, is Bethesda going to finally do something to Gatling Laser to make it not just a complete downgrade from Ultracite Gatling Laser? They have had Laser Gun and Ultracite Laser Gun different stat wise for a long time now.
While this is all good info i personally don't think heavy gunners need to use vats that often. Heavy guns are perfect for free aim. The new raid robot boss will need decent AP for vats but outside that it shouldn't be a big issue. It is good for those that like to use VATS a lot though.

I was wondering does what rads? nullify the effects of radioactive-powered (The new 4 star power armor effect) and if it does, how much the the perk ghoulish heal you while you have this on? I think it would be a cool video to watch. I think it could be a true lazy build if it all works really well together.
Literally just build up your fusion core collection to let's say at least 8. Then anytime you go out take 4 instead of 2 like most people I've met do. It's only 6 more pounds. Then just stay aware of your cores and recharge them as needed. If you have trouble finding cores look for old sets of power armor in the world they always have a core on them
I was wondering if dodgy used up your fusion core but with power user and the new PA being additive I don't think I'll ever have fusion core issues again, I'm gonna have to farm the armor just for the sheer amount of dodgy abuse I'll get to do

Angry turtle shouldn’t have said anything about these buffs being additive. If Bethesda changes it to be multiplied then we can not get +100% fusion core drain. 100% means no fusion for drain at all, 101% and higher would mean anything that drains the fusion core will now charge it. Ap cost had the same problem a few years ago, with the right mods and legendary effects the AP cost reduction would be over 100% and you would gain AP just for shooting
Using VATS in power armor should not drain the fusion core. That's just a stupid idea by Bethesda. The fact that you can use VATS without being in power armor is the reason. If there was a restriction on using VATS, say it's only available while in power armor, it would make sense, but again, there is no detriment to using VATS while not being in power armor. It honestly seems like lazy programming at this point.
The legendary module cost for crafting mods is just dumb as hell. They should just be the same as turning a weapon legendary (1*=5 and so on) or slightly cheaper 😢.

There’s a lot of things people need to consider before they call OP: 1) it’s very resource intensive. Yes you have the DPS similar to a uny build now, but you need to bring a lot fusion cores which requires you to bring Batteries included and Power User. 2) The above mentioned perks are required for this play style. Which also means you’re probably running stabilized. That’s 8 perk points immediately taken up in the crowded intelligence tree, before you’ve taken gunsmith, demo expert, or nerd rage. So a sacrifice has to be made somewhere. You can’t slot EVERYTHING like a non-pa heavy gunner can (except stabilized obviously). So it’s a powerful play style but I feel Bethesda designed it to empty our pockets of our hundreds of fusion cores we’ve accumulated.

Yes it easily gets you to 33 Luck which PA cant achieve without buffs or Luck on all armor pieces but you can just use crit charge which reduces the needed Luck to 23 which is easily achieveable. All the low hp damage buffs are also usable with PA so no difference there. Crits are guranteed hits so how does Vats hit chance matter except maybe for the 1st few shots and also one P is 0,4% hit chance so even like 30 Perception only gives you 12% hit chance which isnt even additive as far as I know and on top of that PA could just use the vats matrix for a similar bonus of 10%. The only thing uny has above PA is +150 AP however im not sure how worth it is to have it over 45% armor pen gainst bosses. One last thing I would like to mention is taking one for the team which I know isnt exluded from playing uny but constantly taking damage from stronger enemies to keep up the debuff isnt really viable with uny because of the low dr and long stim animation therefore PA has easier access to a +40% multiplicative damage modifier.

please stop spreading this idea of crafting gatling lasers to get cores, you can sell the scrap and buy cores cheaper than that, people sell cores for 30c or less, and you can get more than twice that for selling that much scrap
If you have Fallout 1st you have tons of junk. This is a super quick way to get them and I'll be using it in a pinch, it's a great suggestion. The reason I have Fallout 1st is because I don't want to bulk up scrap, sell it at my vendor and buy fusion cores from vendors. I just want to play the part of the game I find fun.

Bethesda should just remove the fusion core drain for vats and make it just drain AP.

It's not just heavy guns in eviction notice I use a automatic plasma rifle and it drains the fusion core also

Tradeoff is tankiness. Plus it’s easy to get and recharge. I got 120 but it only goes up.

Even if you equip 4 star 50% ap cost , with the bobble head and magazine , you still don't have accuracy for headshots

I found a vats matrix mod at one of the npc vendors for the t-60 but I think it’s bugging out cause I couldn’t put it on my t 60

base value of the core is equal to 2k ap and yes in drain in addition to your ap bar

For every 2000 of your AP you use for sprinting/jumping/vats, you drain a core.

V.a.t.s makes weapons break a lot quicker than normal aiming, i avoid v.a.t.s builds.
