I didn't know jetstar 787s have IFE screens! For budget airline standard, the food looks good. I'm glad that you do review budget airlines and economy class most of the time, unlike some youtubers who review business class all the time
"I don't feel confident sitting in the exit row" is all you needed to say. They won't make you sit there. No way I would have swapped three seats for one, especially right next to the toilets.

Hey there, I recently went on a Jetstar 787 as well it was from Honolulu to Sydney. It was an okay flight but the small amount of leg room on an 10 Hour flight got pretty annoying and I couldn't move much nor sleep. It also didn't help when I had a screaming baby in-front of me the whole flight. But in conclusion it was an alright flight probably wouldn't do it again though. But thanks for the great report I loved it!!

Great to get a look at this new service out of what is my home airport Jayden. I too would have been disappointed at the "upgrade" and would have much preferred to stick with the standard legroom and three seats to myself. Otherwise I think this was a decent effort for a LCC, and at a bargain price. There are big changes upcoming at Gold Coast Airport with the current facility operating beyond capacity. A new three-level terminal is being constructed to the south of the existing structure along with four additional aircraft parking bays complete with aerobridges. When it is completed all international operations will then be moved from the northern end of the airport to the newly expanded southern terminal.

Adelaide Airport has the best domestic facilities IMO but international side quite a let down. Yep there are a few phases with the expansion I believe, including extra international gates and conveyor belts. Also, a new, bigger Virgin lounge next year!!
I’ve been moved to the exit row a couple of times (as a solo traveller I guess it’s easier for the airline). Once I complained to the Virgin Australia cabin crew that I specifically chose a window seat and they let me move to my original seat, which I appreciated.
I made it clear I didn’t want to move but the crew couldn’t find anyone... She looked hopeless so I moved when she came back and asked for the second time lol. Thanks a lot for watching mate!

Jetstar canceled its flight from Melbourne to Zhengzhou at this beginning of this month, perhaps that's why they are able to start this service. The longest LCC flight I took was from Bali to Perth, it was a disaster for a chubby person like me,

It’s funny because an upgrade can also go against you . We always actually pay and pre book our seats even though 24 hrs before it’s free . We just feel comfortable doing it this way to guarantee our seats . 👍
yep! Any upgrade to a non-window seat is a downgrade for me. I got upgraded to an aisle seat in premium economy on JAL once, it was a downgrade for me, upgrade for my mum (she was in the middle😂) Thanks for watching Kieron!!
Seats are never guaranteed. It's a preference only. The fee can be refunded/credited if you don't get the seats due to crew needing to move people etc.

Nice review Jayden! It is definitely worth it to have One world status when taking jetstar flights. I think jetstar is more humane low cost carrier than scoot in my opnion, free Tv, USB port, power socket and free water are indeed a winner! Btw, didn't the crew in front of you "advice" you not taking video during take off?
Hey Jayden...Gold Coast airport is a disgrace!! I was there last Monday (Dec 23rd) and the whole place was jammed packed with passengers and the security line was over 300 metres long. Luckily I could use the Priority lane as a Platinum flyer with Virgin !! And there are NEVER enough seats either in the Domestic or International areas!! Right here right now. Jetstar have a growing reputation for charging for just about anything they can...even weighing hand luggage on domestic flights at least ! Not sure I would want to fly with them to be honest !! Thanks for another great review mate and well done as always !! Shame about the seat change !!
Oh when I landed at GC I saw the long security lane!! Fortunately it was short when I departed.. Yep they don’t have enough seats and charging outlets, although they advertise that they have the best and fastest ‘airport wifi in the world’. I witnessed a ground crew weighing people’s checked in bags for a Jetstar flight to Sydney, somebody did get charged! But they didn’t do it on my flight to Korea. OOL is constantly crowded at the gates. I guess it does pay to have lounge access. I’ve never flown with JQ internationally so I was surprised to see the flight attendant jump seat opposite you in that isolated position. As for 3:30 bring on your #coathooksquad lmao..

Nice video,Jayden. The food is great,seat is amazing,unfortunately the food is too small and so hungry after flight meal service. If you travel by LCC Airlines of long haul flight,suggest you choose business class.
Haha that’s why I brought my own food. At the end of the day, Jetstar is a LCC, they want you to spend onboard to cover the insanely low ticket price. I’m keen to try out their Biz! It’s like the exact same as Qantas 737. Thanks a lot for watching :)

I took Jetstar 787 back in early 2016 from Sydney to Bali. Why Jetstar's 787 that has PTVs still do not have any safety video? I think their previous A330-200s has a safety video
Sometimes , it’s really weird that the cabin crew asked you to switch seats with the lady , there must have been also someone else next to you who could open the door in an emergency , while the lady could have just sat in 42B or C.

This looks like your typical low cost carrier flight, Jetstar reminds me a bit of Norwegian as well with the different fares etc. Shame you got moved to the emergency exit row. There are always people milling around where there is free standing space. It is one of my pet peeves in flying. Stretch your legs sure, but don't mill about standing if you don't have to. Unexpected turbulence is an actual thing. Also, they encroached upon your leg room which would have been so annoying. Enjoyed the video though :D
Great trip report as always One World Flyer. I'm curious to know if the meal choices are the same that are available on the domestic Jetstar flights? I flew Darwin to Bali earlier this year and it seemed that the meal choices were the same as for a domestic flight. We bought the bundles and one meal we picked was the butter chicken which I agree with you was absolutely delicious. But we picked noodles for the other choice and it appeared to look elegantly on the web booking page but turned out to be a cup of noodles you can buy at the supermarket for $3 which I didn't think was value for money for the bundle. In comparison, Jetstar Asia gives you an extensive choice of hot meals to choose from.
I think so, Jetstar (JQ) menu is the same across domestic and international. My neighbour had the noodles and I was glad I didn’t pick it😂 Not sure which Jetstar offers the best food and Jetstar Pacific definitely offers the cheapest food!! Thanks a lot for watching mate!
I haven’t flown Jetstar Pacific but I would say Jetstar Asia offers the best food, have flown DRW-SIN several times. I thought maybe the 787 flights may have been different as my flight to Bali was on an A320. It think JQ should differentiate their offerings on domestic and international flights! Hello OneWorld flyer! jetstar 787s are my favourite among the longhaul lccs, economy looks fantastic for an LCC but the premium class could be a lot better from what i have seen on other reviews.I like the seats they use on their Y class (these are the same ones used by delta,air Canada).Looking forward to your next video 🙂

Jayden thank you for the trip report. It looked exciting. Can I ask, the coat hook in the lavatory, would it be strong enough to support either of my Gucci or Prada trench coat? The Prada trench is last season’s Northern winter collection, so its slightly heavier than normal especially because of the metal accoutrement. I’m concerned the coat hook may not be large enough to comfortable and securely accomodate my coat and scarf and on occasion, my headwear. Also, the food presentation service on the Jetstar air flight, were you offered a glass of Tasmanian Pinot or even a chill glass of Veuve or even a Bollinger Grande Anne during the flight?
No worries mate! I don't think you should believe the strength of a coat hook onboard Jetstar! You're Gucci or Prada trench coat don't deserve to be on Jetstar, fly Korean Air from Brisbane Airport instead! Further, your scarf might get blown away by the strong wind at Gold Coast Airport tarmac, risky! Abort Abort! Jetstar and alcohol?!?! Those two words don't match!
Dude you gave up a 3 seat flat bed for the eau de 💩 seat!! I would have been like "non anglais" that exit row seat is the worst on the aisle (window not bad but still stinky from the lavatory) all because you spoke English 🤨. The only bonus was that the previous person paid for the Movies, $9 is highway robbery, by the time you add up food/drinks/movies/seat selection/luggage/blanket it could blow out the cost of the airfare significantly. Short haul is doable and yup lounge access is the key to LCC flights plus you can do the old 5 finger discount and grab a few extra snacks from the lounge. Kudos to you on this 9hr flight👍
Yep!! No more from me! Call me mean or whatever! My seat is mine. I’m avoiding LCC at all cost now. That being said I do have a Jetstar flight to Brisbane next week😂 I used my jetstar credit from my cancelled Phuket-Melbourne flight.

i like sitting in the exit row seats if i fly economy, it costs extra but is worth it to have the leg room, get up without asking everyone to move and not have a chair recline into your face. I always stretch my legs and make myself look all comfy whenever people walk past, ha ha ha. The worst part is when the flight attendant sits opposite you during take off and landing and you are both trying to avoid constant eye contact. Did you pay for the movies for you original seat or did the person you had to swap with have nothing to watch? ha ha ha. For next time, if you want to keep the seat you chose before the flight, dont say "yes" when the staff call out " does anyone speak English?"
I didn’t pay for the movies haha! I guess the passenger who I swapped seats with missed out. I thought the crew just wanted to make nice conversations with me when she approached me 😂 It didn’t turn out that way unfortunately
all of jetstars flight... uses boeing 787.... not a fan... a350 are best bet... but none of low-cost carrier choose a350... sad.. btw... i tried SAS new a350!!!!! the best!!!! woo!!! solid vid

Nice review Jayden! It is definitely worth it to have One world status when taking jetstar flights. I think jetstar is more humane low cost carrier than scoot in my opnion, free Tv, USB port, power socket and free water are indeed a winner! Btw, didn't the crew in front of you "advice" you not taking video during take off?

Hey Jayden...Gold Coast airport is a disgrace!! I was there last Monday (Dec 23rd) and the whole place was jammed packed with passengers and the security line was over 300 metres long. Luckily I could use the Priority lane as a Platinum flyer with Virgin !! And there are NEVER enough seats either in the Domestic or International areas!! Right here right now. Jetstar have a growing reputation for charging for just about anything they can...even weighing hand luggage on domestic flights at least ! Not sure I would want to fly with them to be honest !! Thanks for another great review mate and well done as always !! Shame about the seat change !!
Oh when I landed at GC I saw the long security lane!! Fortunately it was short when I departed.. Yep they don’t have enough seats and charging outlets, although they advertise that they have the best and fastest ‘airport wifi in the world’. I witnessed a ground crew weighing people’s checked in bags for a Jetstar flight to Sydney, somebody did get charged! But they didn’t do it on my flight to Korea. OOL is constantly crowded at the gates. I guess it does pay to have lounge access. I’ve never flown with JQ internationally so I was surprised to see the flight attendant jump seat opposite you in that isolated position. As for 3:30 bring on your #coathooksquad lmao..

The food is great,seat is amazing,unfortunately the food is too small and so hungry after flight meal service.
If you travel by LCC Airlines of long haul flight,suggest you choose business class.
Haha that’s why I brought my own food. At the end of the day, Jetstar is a LCC, they want you to spend onboard to cover the insanely low ticket price. I’m keen to try out their Biz! It’s like the exact same as Qantas 737. Thanks a lot for watching :)

In this case, I would rather spend extra time to get to Brisbane Airport to fly Korean Air to Seoul Incheon

I took Jetstar 787 back in early 2016 from Sydney to Bali. Why Jetstar's 787 that has PTVs still do not have any safety video? I think their previous A330-200s has a safety video

Sometimes , it’s really weird that the cabin crew asked you to switch seats with the lady , there must have been also someone else next to you who could open the door in an emergency , while the lady could have just sat in 42B or C.

There are always people milling around where there is free standing space. It is one of my pet peeves in flying. Stretch your legs sure, but don't mill about standing if you don't have to. Unexpected turbulence is an actual thing. Also, they encroached upon your leg room which would have been so annoying. Enjoyed the video though :D

Great trip report as always One World Flyer. I'm curious to know if the meal choices are the same that are available on the domestic Jetstar flights? I flew Darwin to Bali earlier this year and it seemed that the meal choices were the same as for a domestic flight. We bought the bundles and one meal we picked was the butter chicken which I agree with you was absolutely delicious. But we picked noodles for the other choice and it appeared to look elegantly on the web booking page but turned out to be a cup of noodles you can buy at the supermarket for $3 which I didn't think was value for money for the bundle. In comparison, Jetstar Asia gives you an extensive choice of hot meals to choose from.
I think so, Jetstar (JQ) menu is the same across domestic and international. My neighbour had the noodles and I was glad I didn’t pick it😂 Not sure which Jetstar offers the best food and Jetstar Pacific definitely offers the cheapest food!! Thanks a lot for watching mate!
I haven’t flown Jetstar Pacific but I would say Jetstar Asia offers the best food, have flown DRW-SIN several times. I thought maybe the 787 flights may have been different as my flight to Bali was on an A320. It think JQ should differentiate their offerings on domestic and international flights! I once got upgraded to an aisle seat in premium economy on JAL, I wasn’t too happy with it. Real upgrade did happen once though on Qantas A330, from economy class to a window seat in business 😂 Thanks so much for watching his video 😊

Hello OneWorld flyer! jetstar 787s are my favourite among the longhaul lccs, economy looks fantastic for an LCC but the premium class could be a lot better from what i have seen on other reviews.I like the seats they use on their Y class (these are the same ones used by delta,air Canada).Looking forward to your next video 🙂

It looked exciting. Can I ask, the coat hook in the lavatory, would it be strong enough to support either of my Gucci or Prada trench coat? The Prada trench is last season’s Northern winter collection, so its slightly heavier than normal especially because of the metal accoutrement. I’m concerned the coat hook may not be large enough to comfortable and securely accomodate my coat and scarf and on occasion, my headwear.
Also, the food presentation service on the Jetstar air flight, were you offered a glass of Tasmanian Pinot or even a chill glass of Veuve or even a Bollinger Grande Anne during the flight?
No worries mate! I don't think you should believe the strength of a coat hook onboard Jetstar! You're Gucci or Prada trench coat don't deserve to be on Jetstar, fly Korean Air from Brisbane Airport instead! Further, your scarf might get blown away by the strong wind at Gold Coast Airport tarmac, risky! Abort Abort! Jetstar and alcohol?!?! Those two words don't match!
Dude you gave up a 3 seat flat bed for the eau de 💩 seat!! I would have been like "non anglais" that exit row seat is the worst on the aisle (window not bad but still stinky from the lavatory) all because you spoke English 🤨. The only bonus was that the previous person paid for the Movies, $9 is highway robbery, by the time you add up food/drinks/movies/seat selection/luggage/blanket it could blow out the cost of the airfare significantly. Short haul is doable and yup lounge access is the key to LCC flights plus you can do the old 5 finger discount and grab a few extra snacks from the lounge. Kudos to you on this 9hr flight👍
Yep!! No more from me! Call me mean or whatever! My seat is mine. I’m avoiding LCC at all cost now. That being said I do have a Jetstar flight to Brisbane next week😂 I used my jetstar credit from my cancelled Phuket-Melbourne flight.
I only now realised that Gold Coast (local airport btw) had 787’s coming out… all cuz of Covid you barely even see two flights per day
before Seoul, Jetstar also flew Gold Coast-Tokyo :)
And yeah when I was in the Gold Coast airport last it was dead quiet, it used to be super busy

i like sitting in the exit row seats if i fly economy, it costs extra but is worth it to have the leg room, get up without asking everyone to move and not have a chair recline into your face. I always stretch my legs and make myself look all comfy whenever people walk past, ha ha ha. The worst part is when the flight attendant sits opposite you during take off and landing and you are both trying to avoid constant eye contact.
Did you pay for the movies for you original seat or did the person you had to swap with have nothing to watch? ha ha ha. For next time, if you want to keep the seat you chose before the flight, dont say "yes" when the staff call out " does anyone speak English?"
I didn’t pay for the movies haha! I guess the passenger who I swapped seats with missed out. I thought the crew just wanted to make nice conversations with me when she approached me 😂 It didn’t turn out that way unfortunately
