nice work on your I-16. I think your pre and post shading is spot on. Some are so overdone they look so bloody fake and too 'try hard'. Yours look realistic. Unless you're looking at wrecks, most operational aircraft dont have ultra faded paint etc. If anything their weathering comes from dust, soot and mud/dust thrown up upon landing/taxiing on dirt run ways etc.

I believe that no matter how skilled one is at weathering the result is ultimately never realistic, modelling realism is near impossible in my opinion, so one should only do what he thinks will work, and if it doesnt who is to say it is unrealistic or not, as that is not really possible. Even the greatest model makers creations when compared to the real thing will always seem fake. We try to model realism, we cant make it real. Hope that makes sense.
I saw this video half speed to build my own I16 and the building is amazing but playing this in half speed makes the comentator look like hes stoned or sleepy hahahaha to funny

Thanks for the criticism Vincent mate. I appreciate it, it takes courage to give negative feedback. I am no expert just an intermediate modeller. My goal is to have fun and learn, not get too caught up in realism.
@@ScaleModellingVideos It makes me laugh that anyone can really critique shading on ww2 models. People arent clearly aware alot of these planes ended up getting painted or touched up with rattle cans and weren't exactly cleaned on a major basis.
