I love the battle damage, it’s part of the suits story now.
I really appreciate your transparency and the fact that you point out the flaws in your own designs. It is so refreshing to have people like you trying to share your love for the hobby with the world instead of simply making something appear more perfect than it is
I love the fact that you won't upgrade your own equipment to maintain our ability to replicate these results at home without the high end costs, thanks so much!
I have to say that in my humble opinion you are the king of Ironman suits. Not only for the quality of the suits but also the knowledge that you pass on for others like myself that eventually want to make an Ironman suit for themselves.
Totally agree! I’m planning a Rescue suit, and I know I’ll be looking to these videos when I get started!
LOVE your videos Frank! thanks for chatting with us in Discord and on your live stream. They help a ton. Especially with motivation to finish a project. I just wanted to say thank you for that little speech you gave about not stressing over the layer lines. the 5 foot rule is a life saver! this will help me OCDing over my suit. THANKS FRANK!
Frank, your advice on the quest for perfection is fantastic and oh so valuable. I've been caught in that loop for months and it can really steal your joy of the hobby.
I like that you talked about not getting too hung up on projects being perfect. I have so many unfinished projects because I feel like I'm spending too much time trying to make it "perfect". I need to remember this and just get some finished. Love the video and the breakdown of the paints used!
Excellent work on Starboost Frank! We really appreciate the shoutout, and the discussion about the pros and cons of things like paint protection and trying to make things "perfect". Nobody's builds are perfect and the "10 foot rule" absolutely applies!
Battle damage ! Love the suits💪
Finally starboost is complete!!! It looks awesome! Keep it up frank!
I like the battle damage look, it’s more authentic.
I appreciate that you approach builds in an accessible way…what you have achieved on your builds with rattle cans only is mind blowing and inspiring. With that said, I would love to see you get into spray guns not only for the superior finish and durability of 2k paint, but it also opens the door to soooo many paint effects. Hypershift on an Ironman suit would be mind blowing with all the sharp curves and falloff’s to really sell the effect.
Loved the transition to the garage.
Mk39 really turned out great. It looks fantastic, like the time crunch didn't affect the quality in my eyes.
And MK85 should stay battle damaged so you don't have to worry about it not being "perfect". Then you can just have fun at the Cons wearing it.
For years I have wanted a suit like this! You did a fantastic job, it looks fabulous.
Thank you for reiterating that you should not let perfection stand in the way of progress! I am my toughest critic and will point out flaws in my prints or finished products that my family and friends would never spot unless I do so. I love the five-foot rule and will try to remember it as I work on my next project. Currently, I am dedicating one of my 2 printers to Toys for Tots prints. (To Everyone) If you have a chance to give back this holiday season and put your printer to use to help those less fortunate, please do so. This may be a tough holiday season for a lot of families.
Frank these videos never cease to make me laugh😂 the whole “weee” was so unexpected too
Wow amazing job 🤩 I'm so glad all the files you used are free so I can make my own eventually. And thank you for the mario jump, we all needed that😄
I’m so glad you went with the invisi guard vinyl. I know it’s a bit pricey but if you only put it on the rub points, it will save you so much aggravation down the road. Mine works like a charm!
We'll stay tuned for both. Congrats on finishing Starboost, looks great. Do what you want with MK85. I feel like I can hear you saying you want it to be shiny, but it will require constant upkeep.
It was fun getting to say to you at NYCC. The MK85 looked great. Wish I could have seen Starboost.
You're awesome bro. A complete inspiration. I bought my first printer finally and I can see why you have two walls of printers. This is addicting lol
Your work is phenomenal. The finish and attention to detail are just off the charts! Bravo!
That’s amazing!!!!, probably hands down my favorite iron man suit that looks flawless!!!!
So when you get a certain suit number three. Lol great video Starbost looks great.👍👍👍👍👍
I just finished my first Ironman helmet (mk3) and it came out great! thanks for the inspiration Frank and keep up the good work
First video away from the Airforce is a banger man! Your going to do great 👍
IT LOOKS AMAZING. i just finished my first suit thanks to you frank love you man keep up the amazing work.
In April, I got a Creality Cr10s Pro V2, and spent like a month building a wooden printer box for it because it wouldn’t print properly. And then I spent the rest of the year intermittently printing some of Galactic Armoury’s Officer Clonetrooper Armour, or waiting for a replacement part for my printer to come. And now I have 5 days for my armour to be ready before Halloween…. Kinda sucks how it won’t be ready by then despite me working on it for the whole year. 😢 It’s kinda nice to hear that ConCrunch happens to even a master like you, Frankly
Awesome build. I'm looking forward to more.
Keep up the good work mate. You have got me hooked on cosplay stuff. Done a few helmet on my ender 3 v2 just painting starboost helmet now also got a green goblin helmet on the go
great video as always !! That vynil stuff looks interesting
Amazing work and such a joy to watch!
Awesome! Love the battle damage version better. Excited to see smoke effects!
I looooove your videos, I am so inspired by your work, and once i heard you were doing full time youtube so much dopamine rushed to my brain and i cant wait to watch more of your videos, Thank you😊😊
Budwin here. Great video Frank, nice stash to. Been a big fan since day one. Great videos for anyone into prop making.
I send so many friends and costumers to your channel when they are in need of a bit of help.
Oh hey brother! Thank you so much for that man 🙏 I link people to your thingiverse listings all the time haha
@@FranklyBuilt Thank you, I really appreciate that. I been uploading more there recently as WB says I'm no longer allowed to sell files related to there IP.
So I been posting them for free on my thingiverse page. If you ever need anything just reach out brother.
Thank you so much for bringing up the fact that the stuff we all make is pretty much never going to be perfect. I called the first Helmet I made a Covid helmet because from 6 feet away it looks pretty good 😂
👍🏽Amazing prints Frank 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽
Starboost is just a great design, looking forward to seeing more about it. And the Mk 85 needs to keep the battle damage, I think.
Weeeeee 😂😂 love it man, keep up the good work
Another great video. Very motivating. Thank you.
I laughed so hard on the Weeee
I agree people shouldn't worry if their suit isn't super perfect. The first suit you make will always be less than perfect and you'll make mistakes, but that is how we learn. Just like how someone's first drawing isn't perfect (or first hundred drawings) or first miniature paint job, or first gundam build or scale model kit. Art takes practice and iteration...
You sound make is slightly damaged like your mark 85 so you feel the same freedom with that suit as you do with mark 85 and it will look so cool
Star boost is my favorite iron man suit it looks sleek
Dude i love how dedicated to your suit cangrats😊
Love the content it's really help with my 85 build
Can't wait for the electronic part !!!!
It just posted today!
I tested that same 1K clear on a few test spoons. And it ate through my paint like acid.
Great video Frank. I have an ideea, you should and vinyl paint protection on the Iron Man mk 85 suit so that you don't damage the battle damage :).
It looks super awesome
both suits look amazing. I'd keep the battle damage on the Mark 85 though, its earned the wear and tear look
i love what you do and hope it will all work out great :)
i would like to say what i did with my gloves that you might like
i took a dollar store light with a push button in the middle of 3 leds and i separate it from the case and batteries
i have the batteries in the back as you but i am using a small gardening glove as well under the iron man glove
i glued the lights with the center switch in the gardening glove and a plastic disk with a defuse in the iron man glove and now when i have my hand relaxed the lights are off but when i open the palm, the iron man glove stay still as the gardening glove under it moves with my hand and the lights with the switch on the gardening glove is pressed to the clear disk and it push the switch and the lights are on
i could replace the switch from the light with a momentary switch so it will stay on only for as long i am holding the palm open
just a little lucky trick that came from me trying to do it as cheap as possible
no sound in the gloves but... its really cool :)
Fantastic Frankly.
I keep my fingers crossed for you and look forward to all the new videos from you.
Also I started about a week ago with my mk39, helmet is printed and the left arm is complete. Only the elbow cover makes me sad, I'm printing it for the fifth time hope nothing goes wrong this time.
Best regards from germany.
Ps: sorry for my rusty English
Me on a com crunch with less than a week to paint and weather my armour and I’m sat here eating some toast
Love the suit what made you do the faceplate variation other than the whole top/faceplate I’m curious because I’d like to do it but I’m wondering if that’s just difficult to do in practice
hi i realy love your iron man suits they look amazing
Love how this suit turned out, actually working on the same one myself - anyone know how to connect up the parts/ how best to stuck down the clips we can see Frank using?
Clean bro
I love your videos! I had a problem seeing the files for the armor with the link you put in the description, do you have another place we can find them?
battle damage for the win!!!
What made you choose to build starboost armor vs other of iron man’s armor and do you plan on building more in the future and have Tony suits all standing next to each other like in the films?
Frank, been following your channel since you were first a small creator. I saw your vid on the CR10 Max and decided to get one. Did you have trouble leveling or printing anything? The BL touch seems to throw off any measurements I make. I’m beginning to dislike auto leveling 😅 just wondering what you’re experience was like with this printer. Mine so far has been rough.
Keep the Battle Version. I am very new at this and cant wait to start printing and learning. Thanks
I just started to 3d print my Mark 3 suit and I had one question what machines would you use to move the flaps. I wanna fry to add the shoulder Missles where two plates open up to show Missles how would you do it to move pieces of your suit?
Aaron who would love to find more of their work as well.
Hey there! Aaron here, one half of Rogues Gallery Cosplay. You can check out our builds here or IG: instagram.com/roguesgallerycosplay/
Do you have a link for the L.E.D lenses you use? Or is there somewhere I can find them? Working on printing out Starboost atm actually and you're videos are a great help! Thanks! Love your videos, they're amazing!!
Love your Starboost, do you have an idea of the next suit ? :D
And I'm so glad and happy for you that you can live of your passion !
legend
Hello! I recently got very intrigued about 3d printing full cosplay suits. the problem is I have no idea what to do. I am 6ft 7, and have a very large build if that makes sense. Im worried that if i scale one part of a suit, ex a helmet, it would be out of proportion with things like my chest plate or legs. I guess what I'm asking is how do i scale or size things for my size without making things look seriously out of proportion.
I wonder have u ever tryd the Gundam accent enamel for your panel line for your prints? It might be a little easier..I love ur work bro I actually started 3d printing kuz of u TBA
I like Starboost a lot more than your MK 85. Nothing against the 85, but SB is just so different and cool looking. Although you wouldn’t be wearing it (I think) you should do the MK 39. Just to do it or as a really cool display.
have you added any other lights to this suit? and have you updated the helmet faceplate?
hey man what do you think of fiber glass resin for making prints smooth?
that is so cool😄
Could you make a Dante and Virgil set up from devil may cry , i feel like it would be fun and add a lot of Interchangeable parts to a cosplay, prime example would be like making Dante’s sword and gauntlets for different styles or his ebony and ivory
Lol dropped just in time, im at this stage now 😂
I think it will be very cool if you make your own best character completely your creation from your imagination into a new superhero.
Hey how do I start 3d printing I’ve never done it before and don’t know how to at all ?
Like the facial hair you gonna do the "weird beard"
Early, btw your the reason I got a 3D printer also
that looks real
Hi, what 3D printer would you recommend me to get? I have a $400 budget.
great work ps 2 things who was the guy u showed and the link to the suit doesn't work for at lest me
Damn you ok Frank? That arm must have hurt
I plan on getting a 3d printer and have a really awesome project I want to work on but don't know the first thing about 3d modeling and didn't know if you do that or not, let me know please
wow you got a lot done
I always prefer the weathered suits. The iron snap wouldn't have been nearly as cool if Stark looked all clean and untouched.
Hey Frank, what did you end up doing with the chest piece arm holes? the piece where the backpack attaches to the chest? I remember you mentioning needing to address it in a previous video but don't believe I saw your solution.
I cut them out
I love your channel!
Every time I get down and think I suck at this: I watch something from you and get inspired all over again!!
Thanks to you I have a mini print farm of 5 Creality 3D printers (2 CR-10, 3 Ender 3s).
If you have any tips and creating the 3D models with tinkercad I would certainly be appreciative!
And yes! I am printing an iron man suit in all black!!
What printer is your favourite and which would you recommend?
i love the battle damage more
Could you show how you connected all your arm parts together? I used only flexible bands on my mk39. Thinking about doing an upgrade with some sort of exoskeleton.
I actually showed it in an earlier video . Video 6 or 7 I think
@@FranklyBuilt aaah thought I watched all episodes. I’ll have another look.
did they stop making the cr10 s4 ?
Can you do Dr. Fates helmet from the Black Adam movie?
on average, what does a project like this cost? from start to finish
Battle damage .. For the win ..sms
Hey, could you show us how to print a phase 2 clone trooper helmet?
Edit: Great Video btw
Is there any lights under the foot 👣 ?
Are you going to do any more dc stuff
Maybe try making blue steel
Can you maybe help me, please. I am trying to give one of my helmets a burnt look but I can’t get it. Could you make a video on how to do different effects on your builds.🙂
Yep! I have a video on battle damage
