    Great video! The very 1st week I replaced my Hyper Black (which I like) with 20" gloss black Trackhawk wheels. This coming Spring 2023 I'm going to get wheels just like yours or the same Trackhawk wheels but in 22". I'm also going to install Eibach springs to lower my '21 Tow N Go. I only have 5,000 miles on her, bought it new but I have to mod everything I get my hands on!

      Thanks, heads up though on the tire aspect ratio. If I did it again I would do 35 sidewall not 40.

      @@carsick309 Why's that? What about your 35 ET - it looked very close to rubbing the caliper, any issues? I admit i don't fully understand ET because on my gloss black Trackhawk wheels they say it 45ET but they are very concave and love them.

      I'm sure I'll get "ripped" by some pros on here for this explanation but don't care because easiest for me to understand it this way. So, the offset (+32, +35, +45, etc) really has most to do with how close the wheel will be buried into the wheel well. Plus if may rub on brake potentially. Or the opposite, how far the wheel/tire will stick out past the wheel well for that "wide aggressive" look. The lower the number the more sticks out. BUT the aspect ratio (295/35R22, 295/40R22, etc) sets the height of side wall of tire. Since tire is round it's not just height but also width. NOT depth in the wheel well but how much of wheel well it covers when you look at it from side of car. Anyway, most people who did 20" or 22" wheels have been doing 35 aspect/tire sidewall. I did 40 because better tire deals and filled out the wheel well look. I did not anticipate that the Durango has a hard to notice "jut out" in back of front wheel wells. It's a metal piece covered by wheel well cover. No idea why that's there. So, my 40 sidewall rubs on that when wheels are turned all the way for a tight turn radius. Hopefully you're following what I mean. I tolerate that fine but if you don't want to deal with it, do 35 sidewall. As far as offset I thin you should do +32 if doing Velgen VFs that are 10" wide.

    Hi, Great video. I also have a VF5 on a 2022 Durango i recently picked up with a 35 offset. Are you lowered? If so with eibach springs?

    • @carsick309
      @carsick309  Рік тому +1

      Thanks, I am not lowered. It looks that way because I have higher sidewall tire than most people get. My aspect ratio is 40 instead of typical 35 so it makes the tire fill out the well much more.

    Wow and say wow what 22 rims and tire size makes your ride look lower and look sweet so in short for the best setup would be what including for the tire rub the final size would be in your opinion is …. Then go out order everything I need thank you for this video how you explain it
    also love how more of your rotor is showing and brake calibrater look very nice
    Thanks look forward to your final setup
    Thanks

      So my factory wheels were 10" wide, because it's a TowNGo, same as SRT. Velgens are also 10" so the width is right. The main problem is what tire size to get. Factory is 295 wide with 40 aspect/height. So 295 will work but tires are expensive for 22 wheels. 305 is the next best width and you will get more tire options. 35 aspect/height is better than 40 but is more expensive. Best setup: 305/35R22. Best budget setup and some very minor rubbing: 305/40R22.

    Hi, on the front are rubbing to much? Is affecting the drivability? How you feel your steering wheel? I ask this because is my family hauler and I don’t want the ocúpanos feel hard with the lows 35

    • @carsick309
      @carsick309  Рік тому

      I don't think it's too much. Only rubs when you turn wheel to almost to maximum. So unless you make tight turns all the time it should not be a problem. The bumps and pot holes feel stiffer than factory.

    Hi love the wheels and how they look, question I was told the 32 offset will not clear the rear which I don’t understand and I see you have, any issues. Thank you

    • @carsick309
      @carsick309  9 місяців тому

      I don't think anyone can say whether a wheel will or will not clear just based on offset. What matters is combination of offset and tire size. Yea, if you get +32 but wrap a tire around it with an even bigger side wall than mine, then it will run for sure. But if you wrap a smaller sidewall tire around it then fine. It's possible, but I am not sure, that the Town N Go package of RT sits slightly higher because bigger/better shocks. No idea if that's the case though.

    • @Yangie21
      @Yangie21 9 місяців тому

      It doesn’t makes sense I’m trying to go with 305/35/22 with 32 offset on a 10.5 rims and to say it will not clear the breaks is absurd and this is coming from velgen directly

    • @Yangie21

    • @carsick309
      @carsick309  9 місяців тому

      @Yangie21 I got Velgen through CARid . Velgen apparently told CarID guys that the "rear stance might be too aggressive" for +32. Meaning stick out too far. It does not. And they didn't say anything about rubbing.

    • @Yangie21
      @Yangie21 9 місяців тому

      That’s insane I guess everyone has a different idea but as long as your are no problem with the breaks rubbing in the rears then I’m good again thank you for the video the car looks sick with them on.

    So would 32 offset work on front and rear?

    • @carsick309
      @carsick309  Рік тому +1

      I'm always careful recommending these things because of tires variances and such. I don't see why not. Mine is +35 which means that the edge of wheel should be further "out" from the hub than +32 offset. Another way would be to say that identical tire on identical wheel would sit "closer" to edge of fender or wheel well with +35 than with +32. So, of mine fit, then +32 should also.

    • @carsick309
      @carsick309  Рік тому

      For me only on the front and only because I picked tire size too big. Only rubs when turning wheels all the way to the max. If you do 35 sidewall aspect ratio you ought to be fine.

      @Wisco_Ram_Page it's not bad. How often do you really have to turn the wheel to the max possible anyway. :) When these tires wear out ill just get lower profile ones and itbshoukd be fine.
