Ah yes, this is how an anime about all girls school really is, not a random guy comes out of nowhere and change everyone life. I always love this kind of anime: everything is daily life, so peaceful so perfect.
Ps: some people might feel offended, harem is a good anime/manga type but it just.........not make sense to me
I guess Fantasy sells, I’d like to see girls free from trouble and pain, and some people like seeing one guy dealing with different pretty girls. But yes, I don’t like harem either, it’s just not a healthy love relationship, but just fantasy not fair to characters other than the protagonist, unless everyone in the relationship are all allowed to have their own harem…
Back in my high school, every guy in my class (there are very few of us to begin with) were so lazy that its usual for me to attend the class as the only guy in it. Of course, none really cares about me being the only guy at class except for teachers who expect me to take the lead as an "acting class president" (just a religion based custom). This is reality after all so let me tell you how it actually feels like as a guy to be kind of "locked" in this situation.
To be honest..
It is uncomfortable and I feel quite retarded each time that happened.
The only affect is that there will be no dudes to talk to for the rest of the day and teachers expect you to do all the hard labor when they need it done that's it (again religion based society custom). For me, i get the opportunity to clean the toilet, digging to plant stuff, emptying the trash containers, relocating junks to the school warehouse, climbing trees to collect mangoes and jumping trenches to collect bananas on the side of the school (never done both, I'm afraid of snakes).
Its just a "the last man on earth" fantasy in reality, not many life will change by such encounter because everybody already has a life to begin with. Just senseless fantasy and in someway reverse harem is also around the same category but i do noticed that most reverse harem are more "polite" in presenting their fanservices than the usual harem.
Since we are on the subject of a catholic school (at least on the setting of the story), I will pray for you to get more views and good health so you can pump out more contents. Maria sama ga miteru is certainly a classic by now, It is one of those very traditional Yuri anime or more accurately a Class S. Being a Class S, i hope new audience should already understand what type of plot usually associated with the genre.
Class S doesn't have to be a romantic relationship which set it different than a strictly Girls Love Yuri genre. For another chill and slow paced but a more cheerful Class S you can check out my personal favorite anime, ARIA series.
Fun fact: Class S is the first form of "Yuri" which started to appear around 1910s and was banned in 1936 during World War 2. Although Yuri is a girls love story, some Yuri can be directed toward male audience too usually as fanservice but if it is a Class S Yuri, then it is made for female audience so its normal if it feels somewhat different.
This was really good, I kind of want to watch the show now.
I'm not usually a fan of slice of life style shows, but it seems like an interesting set up.
I hate how bumping into people became a fan service trope, it's nice seeing it as a surprising and intimate moment.

My fav anime of all time.
It's so underrated
it was really pretty show but it's kind of confusing. you cld interpret it as a sisterhood bond platonic love as sisters and family since in catholic school that is the pure and honorably right thing for girls to be. or a familiar love as a sisterhood friendship of all girls as being a team of friendship is important to share. or if you pay attention very closely since it's Japan and it's different from what we see it is a romantic and lesbian love to the series but not the kind where it's obviously to the fans and it's not that much fanservice but still see some romantic love between characters which is young ladies.
either way it's interesting to watch and something I don't see much in common as much. it's a nice slice of life school life but has a lot of drama when were not expected of it and it's intriguing.
True. And iirc, wasn't at least the Sei Sato/Rosa Gigantea character explicitly called a lesbian in-show, and depicted kissing other girls? Been a while since I've seen the original show, but am pretty sure that happened.

don't know about the title besides a sense of its cultural significance, as an apparent inspiration to many other manga/anime/etc.. video informs and piques one's interest. i particularly enjoy the parts considering yumi's place in the story, not sure how to articulate.
although, the video feels a bit weird to me. to try and describe it, it feels like there's more re-telling than commentary. i may have expected more straightforward arguments for "Why Maria Watches Over Us is The Best Yuri Anime?"
