I really do not expect much from any broadcast when Nick Schulman is the commentator. Thankfully there aren't many of those that I come across. I don't understand why people supposedly like the man. Just that drone he has when he speaks, if I wasn't watching people I actually enjoy, playing, I wouldn't have borne the agony.

that was some heads-up. Phil was like an assassin in the last 30-40 mins...no chatter, no talking and dialed in. That sarcastic chuckle when Antonio said " bring out the dice" was golden. Man's a legend and played like one.

As they say, poker is 80% skill and 20% luck. He got so lucky right off the get go, 2 full houses, 2 chopped pots, high pair, two pair, just nothing was in Antonio's favor. Round 2 between these two please!

That’s true, but over the years the opposite has been true for Phil against all of these heads up duel opponents, Daniel, Tom and Antonio have had the rub of the green against Phil on many occasions!

Aside from triton and some other brands like poker go, most poker is now online and streamed, or guys doing POV vlogs.
Most players are now just maths nerds who learn the charts off by heart.
That golden age, of cowboys, and exploitative players, is over.
Live reading is pretty much a thing of the past, considering like 90% of poker is played online.

I like how immediate the gratification of online play can be (like watching it specifically) but there’s nothing like the good old live shows of the past. I remember going into withdrawal for new After Dark and High Stakes episodes. And it was such a cool way to actually get emotionally vested in the players. The back stories. The histories. The backgrounds. Was so good! Now they’re all just faceless poker players. I don’t feel that connection anymore.
Sorry. Rambling. Don’t know if that makes any sense at all. Just my opinion. Not that I have anything against the progress of the game of course. Just that there was a time where it felt like it all meant more.

Gabe Kaplan was the greatest poker commentator I ever saw. Focused, thoghtful commentary germane to what was going on, very aware of the conversations at the table, understood his place, and not least - funny.

There are definitely advantages to each. But I think there is something to be said for a high volume of heads up cash where you get more interesting hands and a better chance of actually measuring who the better player is.

I think Antonio will play a bit tighter in the next match, but we'll see - he's definitely confident he's a better hu player than Hellmuth so maybe he just goes with the same strategy.

It's because they are spreading the flop backwards so it goes left to right from the perspective of the camera, something they've likely never practiced. You would spread the flop the other direction in any other game.

Hey, could you please add the blinds/ante, maybe also how many big blinds they have. It would make the following much easier. Potsize in BBs too would be cool and their bet sizes. I felt like the graphics were a bit behind the action all the time.

Antonio lost the match when he threw the 3 Kings away.He would of had a massive chip lead.
Such a brutal spot. I think he calls against pretty much anyone else. Hellmuth's rep of only betting when he's got it was a definite factor in his decision I think
@@samrizza8785 there is NO way you can bet/fold this spot...Antonio is pretty much on top of his range here. After check/check turn phil put him on like 0 kings. Antonio is betting for thin value ALL the time there. Phil was steaming too. It was one of the worst folds i ever saw from Antonio:(

If you always call when you have trips, if I make a straight-plus, I can just bet big knowing you'll call it off. And be fair - that runout was brutal - like, yeah, you're probably calling, but you don't like it at all. Plus, Phil's bet was so perfect - if he jams, Antonio calls 100 percent - but the size said 'I know you have trips, call me' I honestly don't blame him for folding.
@@samrizza8785 its 95% call with all the given circumstances there. There is no way phil can put him on 3 kings after checking turn. The reason for his raise on river was that he thought Antonio was value betting thin there as he always would..and antonio would have had a enormous chiplead too

This just shows how good Hellmuth is.
He acts tilted and steam at the start of the game where the blinds are small and the consequences are minimal.
But when the blinds goes up, he ramps up the pressure, hyper focuses and makes the opposition start to tilt and make mistakes when it's mroe costly.
Hellmuth is definitely going to win the next round.
