    My dear friend, this is truly an inspiring video to experience. It's absolutely soothing and relaxing to watch and let the experience speak for itself. As someone who travelled a lot and got lost in life, lost all the passion, the drive, the hunger for exploration I finally managed after years getting back out there, getting the feeling of an adventure and what it means to experience again the great feeling hiking, exploring, and travel gives you. Thank you so much for sharing this video, I am moved and inspired by you and the knowledge you share. Wishing you the best.

    Great video! You always make us chuckle with your rants. As for the Thermarest pad loosing air I sent mine in after 5 years of use and Thermarest sent me a new one. It ended up it was something with my valve. It took about 10 weeks to receive a new pad but I still got it. There are no other pads like those cozy air mattresses. Happy trails! Thanks for all the laughs and videos.

    Pillow? Slip your shoes/boots under your head at night, maybe with a shirt or piece of foam on top for comfort. 😂 Too bad about the Uber Light losing air all night, but it saves times on packing in the morning 👍

    Send the Thermarest back to them to test. They’ve had problems with the internal baffles. When I sent my pad in for repair they said it would take 8-10 weeks. After a week they told me it was a baffle problem and sent me a new one asap. Love my NeoAir XLite wide. The 25” makes a world of difference vs the 20”!

    Hey Bryce. just got back from my CT hike. I have had the uberlite for about three years now and not once have I had to put more air in it. It must be a defect with that one. It got down in the 30's every night and I had no issues. I see you have another vid on the Uberlite. Getting caught up on vids after two weeks so maybe you found something there. Just wanted to tell you mine is fine. I'm a warm sleeper so I can handle this pad down to those temps. But no issues at all with deflation.

    The hip belt saved weight. Maybe you can get rid of the shoulder straps and get to your 10 pound goal.

  • @implausibleimpossiblehypot4006

    What kind of firearm do you carry for these 5 day hikes ? If you carry no firearm I suggest an Orion flare gun with a 22 adapter. If you ever really had a conflict with wildlife the flares should scare them also you could alert any planes or people in the area and if you felt it necessary to put the adapter in you’d have a single shot 22 and that could save your life in the worst situations. Also do you carry a leatherman or what kind of multi tool also I need hunk you should have a splint set etc and maybe a musical instrument like a mouth harp or harmonica. - I don’t hike ultra light but I love knowing that my gear is long lasting and I could basically live easily in the wild ( I know this is a weird one but my favorite gear I picked up recently is a great kilt. It’s like a Scottish kilt but is thick wool and has like so many uses and you can wear it and sleep in it in the winter. It’s a great peice of kit

    Awesome, Bryce! The Enchantments are some of the most beautiful places to camp in the US. I camped at Colchuck Lake looking out my tent at Dragontail Peak to the morning light and watched the sunset splash an array of colors over it at night. Did this for my 66th birthday with my twin sister. Definitely hike your own hike and don't lose any sleep over the naysayers! It's not worth it. I too carry my Helinox Chair Zero all over and appreciate it in camp after a long hike. Did you go up over Aasgard Pass and see any Mountain Goats?

    There's no leak in your Uberlite. Mine and everyone i know's does the same thing. Our working theory is the air just goes out of the pad material like osmosis or something. Just gotta blow up it up once or twice a night.

    • @TOMinPDX
      @TOMinPDX 2 роки тому

      @@JamesPanning It happens with lots of pads actually. The warm air you breathe into a pad becomes cold and shrinks in volume. Plus the materials stretch when there is weight on them, hence needing to blow up pads during the night. Outdoor Vitals has an explanation video on the subject.
