  • In this video I replace the strut mounts on my 1997 BMW E36 M3/4/5. After wanting to install a strut tower brace and breaking a bolt on the old mount I was forced to replace both front strut mounts. I bought Corteco brand mounts as they are a manufacturer for many automotive companies including BMW. Thanks for watching!
As noted, a big thank you to Naperville Automotive Solutions! You can find out more about Geoff and his shop here:

Also, here is the information that I found regarding the torque specs for the hardware. Be sure to verify this information and for your specific vehicle. I am not a mechanic and just like working on my cars, so please be sure to research what is right for your specific vehicle.
This is the info for the Cable Holder/Brake Wear Sensor Holder that broke and was replaced: BMW Part #33181181310

All that for just some simple strut mounts... ugh better you than me! But thanks for the detailed video.

I know! It would be so much easier if they were somehow accessible from the top, but I understand why that is not possible from an engineering/practicability standpoint. Now that I've done it it would be so much easier to do in about half the time. Thanks for watching!

@@drcars1530It would make life so much easier if a professional spring press machine wasn't so expensive, not to mention just for one use. It would be "in-and-out" type of job from home 🙂‍↕️
