    Update. I installed new pads yesterday. Trivial after watching your video. I even used your video to confirm that I had ordered the correct pads before ripping open the package. Fortunately, I had the correct ones, the same version of the auger that you have in the video. Also, you were right that the replacement kit came with 10mm screw heads which would require a different socket. But the old screws were fine, so I reused them instead of making another trip to the basement. Thanks again!

    One of the easiest paddle changes i have seen. I and Henry Murawski have struggled with the shoulder style dome head torx drive bolt installs they take forever. Nice catch on that 21" advantage MTD made hard to believe you caught that along with catching that little piece of rubber wearing off when you ran the auger. Great eye there buddy. Another extremely well done video with important information for all your views. Time to switch over to mowers and other warm weather equipment eh?

    I have a similar 1997 Tru Value Snow Chief single stage snowblower made by MTD that also has that cheeky 1" bump so that they can call it a 21" snowblower.

    The explanation between 20 inch and 21 inch , I agreed with you , it’s a no no , contrary if you add it’s is a push snowblower , they could advertise as a 2 stage one , one stage it throws snow by itself second stage is manually pushing !

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  Рік тому

      Yes I was very surprised to see that, and had to mention it in the video. I consider that somewhat false advertising. Thanks for watching!

    Great video. I have the exact snow blower but from Troy-Bilt. This was a big help; mine is overdue for maintenance, just like the one you worked on here. I would love to see a video of taking off the cowling to get to the engine and carb on this model. I haven't found a manual that shows the steps. Its like the engine is in a prison on this thing!

    “How’s it going eliminator?”…. I’m thinking about getting a smaller paddle type snowblower for my wife to use. She can’t handle the Honda at all. It’s to much for her small frame…….”So with that being said”, I’m gonna finish my 2nd cup of coffee here and start my day.

    A word of safety...if your going to use an impact driver then use an impact socket (black). Chrome vanadium steel is too soft and brittle to the blows of a power tool.

  • @appleztooranges
    @appleztooranges Рік тому +1

    Is stens worth it? Everyone telling me to buy Honda oem. Problem is with Honda hs621 oem is $100+ for the paddles. The stens is only $30 or so on Amazon

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  Рік тому +1

      They've been great, I've only ever had to return 2 parts in the past 10 yrs of doing business with them. Honestly I'd say stens is high quality aftermarket, although they're adding more and more OEM stuff to their catalog.

    • @waynestefinashen239

      Stens just sent us an email saying over 20,000 parts are increasing the prices effective April 1, 2023 and digitally sent us the updated price listing for all parts

    Jake, I’m looking for a specialized source for seals. I came across a reference to one a while back but can’t find it now. This source would have low minimum orders, good pricing and normally sell to small engine shops. I want to order by seal dimensions rather that OEM part numbers. This would be for things like small 2T (string trimmers) up to 4T (lawn tractors). Any help?

      @@Rein_Ciarfella they're great, I have an account with them and we use BDI Canada whenever we need custom belts that are hard to get, or overly expensive from the OEM manufacturer. I can usually find parts through BDI at a fraction of the price. An example would be special bearings or sprockets we've needed in the past
