Rated as one of the worst episodes of WCW Nitro. Is that fair? Reup

- I am in the middle of a house move so nothing but REUPS this week I’m afraid! This an episode of Wcw Nitro that was rated as the worst due to what happens with Vince Russo and the title. Let’s see if it’s as bad as they say!
This is a reupload. I am in the middle of a house move so it’s kinda hard to make content right now. I do have something else coming today that was only on Patreon.
Why is this a reupload?
@@gameshock2916 because it was taken down a week after I uploaded it
That's understandable
Reupload or not, it’s always great to see a video from The Hawk
Still appreciate the upload. Good luck with your house move.
Suggestion for future episodes: Raw from April 18, 2005. It had an 11 minute Jim Ross match in the main event, Viscera forcing a kiss on Trish, almost no clean finishes, and the best match was Shelton vs Simon Dean.
Anything with Simon Dean in it is worth watching
who did jim ross wrestle? i'm curious
@@robjackson4050 Triple H, of course. It's a main event of Raw in april 2005, there are no other options
Still doesn't sound like the worst. At least something happened unlike these days.
Hi Marky please can we have Eric Bischoffs 12 matches in WWE. Over 100 people liked this comment on the last NWA TNA review video and a fair few approved of the idea for ROH
I, again second this as before.
I agree, I think it would be good
Over 100 people liked?????
I’d rather shit in my hands and clap
I agree with this. Even mongo McMichael
"A Wild Slapnuts Appears" Forever 🙏🏻🙏🏻
>guitar shot
ref bump
kick to the nutsack
stroke
Double J Jeff Jarrett
Beetlejuice calling Jarret Slapnuts is one of the most iconic Nitro moments of all time
Even if it's a reupload, it's nice to have something to watch during this dull morning at work. Good luck on the move, Hawk.
Lance Storm was really underrated in his time. He may not have been a top guy but he could definitely hang with the main eventers.
Guy kept getting better as his career progressed. Esp his mic skills. Love him. Totally underrated.
He had the potential to reach the main event and be a heel challenger for Booker if WCW had continued. He had actually had a character built.
WCW was transforming into a bigger TNA by 01. Look how much it seems like TNA already by this point.
Here's an interesting fact: Nitro in 2000 got way higher ratings than Raw today
Tens of millions of people have cut their cable subs since 2000 so this is a meaningless fact without context.
Shows the state of wrestling today.
@@JamesKlemm87 I think overall though it shows that wrestling's popularity and viewership over the last 20 years has declined significantly, so not meaningless
@@JamesKlemm87 How do explain the audience shrinking and shrinking and shrinking over the year's? Pre COVID-19! It's a fact, nobody gives a shit about the garbage that wrestling is today! Just like the NBA.
@@JamesKlemm87 it’s more or less the wow factor of the show, people weren’t watching for the wrestling they were watching for the crazy shit that went on every week
It was strange to see Storm and Sting having an actual wrestling match amongst all this dumb shit happening on the show.
Leave it to the icon to save the day huh?
This was a good match in a shit show
The entire show looks much more entertaining than anything modern tbh
It's crazy how so much shit happened in a single WCW episode. It's literally Chaos every single minute lol
This is what I've strangely always enjoyed about WCW 2000.. lol
It was so awesome. Modern wrestling urgently needs to learn from the attitude era rather than the Observer newsletter. You can still do interesting and fun TV without edgy stuff, if you must please wokies.
@@ScumBagInFLexactly, you could review a modern TNA in less than 5 mins if a match review was kept to two sentences and cover the entire show in that time 🥱 nothing happens anymore, then you get a 15 min Gresham match against someone you've never heard of or seen before. 🥱 🥱 🥱
"Disco Inferno runs up and hits him with a....duck....because duck. I can't keep up..."
It makes sense if you recall a certain cult hit song out in the old disco days called Disco Duck. I wasn't even born in the disco days but I heard the references when I was younger. Don't know why they think anyone would get it in the late 90's or early aughts.
This is the episode where Double J hit beetlejuice with the guitar?? that alone doesn’t make it the worst episode ever
Why Steiner is wearing a mask: Goldberg previously fractured Steiner's orbital bone with either a pipe or his fist. The protective mask was so he could continue wrestling with the injury, similar to 'Taker in 95.
I would much rather watch this than any episode of RAW this year.
The Sting vs Storm match goes down in the "great match from an otherwise weird comedy show" section of the history annals.
Not gonna lie, I would gladly take random insanity of WCW in 2000 than what WWE has been doing the last 3 or so years.
Agreed, WCW in 2000 was fun trash
I love when you start laughing during your commentary. Drives the point home every time
1:20. He was really laying them in right there. Looks more like he is trying to start a old lawn mower more then throwing kidney shots. Lol
Was he _punching_ the kidneys, or _polishing_ them?
I honestly wish Slap Nuts was an actual Pokemon.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan as a Canadian Heel is just hilarious
This channel is the cure for depression :D
This show was batshit crazy. The amount of things going on just in one night is astounding. Two hell in a cell matches, ICP getting whipped on a bus, Howard Stern goons judging a bikini contest, Beetlejuice getting nailed with a guitar, Sting vs Lance Storm, a tag team battle royal randomly for the belts. It may not have been good content, but holy hell at least they were trying.
it was certainly entertaining to watch 😂 maybe not for the reason they were going for but 🤷🏻♀️
I said it on the original upload, but I'll repeat it here. I like to see the March 3rd 2011 episode of TNA Impact challenge for this title. (The one where Sting returns to win the World title). I haven't seen it in years, but I remember it being the worst episode of any wrestling show I can remember.
There’s no way to watch 08-14 tna episodes
@@d.52555 it's literally on UA-cam
12:13 incredible sell job by Beetlejuice
Bob Backlund never ate marijuana.
Just putting it out there...
2:14 JB really does look like Schlegdaddy here lol

The best thing Russo ever did in WCW was put the title on Book. That man deserved it.
Can we have a review of WCW:New Blood Rising? The worst ever wrestling show of all time.Straight in the "Shuv It!" Zone 😂😂
no heroes of wrestling is worse it has to be seen to be believed
The booking definitely ruined WCW on a watchability level and it didn’t start with Russo.
Shae the Nitro Girl makes the front of my pants feel funny....
Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Sergeant Slaughter used to be tag team in the WWE in the early 90s and they both played a similar role in wrestling. Before that in 1990 Slaughter was an Iraqi sympathizer with General Adnan and Colonel Mustafa. Ten years later in WCW in the year 2000 Duggan would be a turncoat and side with Canadian Lance Storm and his Canadian cast of Elix Skipper, Pierre Oulllete and Major Guns.
Torie Wilson won. Just saying. She reaaalllyyy won.
man goldberg hit russo hard u see the look on his face when he hit that outside rail lights are on but russos not home
Oh god. The guy in the Yankees shirt trying to look tough is hilarious. I can't fight people who looks like that. I'd be laughing at them way too much and can't take it seriously
i have a suggestion for ROTH: Chris Nowinski’s run in WWE (approximately 30 matches outside of house shows) or Marc Mero’s run in TNA.
Your channel really deserves some more love. I really enjoy your content. Can't wait to see the Hawk fly even higher
Absolutely one of the most underrated channels I’ve seen. Keep up the good work. Love it
I legit feel bad for mean gene. Greatest in the business and he's interviewing Beetlejuice and his goons
If they did this by 1999 they would’ve survived.
BTW, David Flair is now known as Charlotte.
No, Charlotte used to be Reid Flair. They kayfabe had Reid die of a drug overdose to explain his sex change.
I agree that the other episode of nitro that has the belt for worst wrestling show was worse than this episode I also found this entertaining and also markyd I really enjoy your commentary on your videos it is fresh to see how someone else views something when you have your own opinions about it and I think your commentary is extremely funny and entertaining and I think if ever given the chance to do live commentary at a wrestling show you would put the majority of announcers out the there to to shame I think anyone not named Jim Ross tony schiavone Kevin Kelly and possibly tazz their job would not be safe keep up the good work
Steiner and goldberg is the perfect way to big guys are supposed to wrestle love it
even Meltzer gave their match on PPV over 4 stars (and he was a huge WCW hater)
Schlegdaddy reference? Bah gawd!
Russo storylines always revolved around Russo...unless it revolved around Jarrett. It's how bad they are.
Edit:
The obsession with Earnest Miller near the end of WCW is wild. He's all over those shows. Its terrible. Terriblé
The Cat was awesome though. Wished they uses him sooner.
The cat was awesome dumb comment
The sheer amount of segments old wrestling used to have is insane, they have like 3-4 things happen in 20 minutes. That’s how long the entrances of the main event of raw are now
to be fair though... The Cat was always good for a laugh on the mic XD
What a mess of a show - but considering being WCW 2000 this is kinda expected.
However having not the biggest rack is no reason for me not to take Torrie Wilson back home with me :P
Then. Now. Forever......
8:13 I lived like ten minutes from nassau coliseum for several years, and I swear to god I've been to that exact chuck e. cheese
What’s the name of the “Asian Dominatrix”? For um... research.
Probably Leia Meow, aka Kimona Wanalaya from ECW
I feel like The Episodes Should End With A screen Shot Of the Champion and the challenger in a Wrestling ring Fighting Each other
Thanks for the Juvi throwback the day before he comes back!
Everytime I see david flair, all I can think is "well, at least Charlotte is good"
As for Lance Storm, he was just the athletic version of Malenko. Good at doing fake moves, but no psychology, mic skills or personality. In other words fucking useless.
Sting can make anyone look amazing. I would say Sting is 1 out of 8 people in wrestling history can make anyone look like a top caliber wrestler.
Marky, Disco had a goose. You can tell by the longer neck.
At 12:01 that guy looked like a he legitimately can be rhyno's brother
Watching that interview you did with Russo made me appreciate him a lot more.
Now that Bray Wyatt has been released from WWE,
Fancy covering The Fiend’s run on Ring of the Hawk?
This.
Someone punch me in the gut but i think this is a lot better than the wrestling we have today
Getting hit in the head with bricks by Brock Lesner and Bobby Lashley is better than watching todays wrestling.
@@xbigwormx lol true
Russo wanted to be Vince. He ended up being the embarrassing fan boy sycophant that everyone knew he was.
There's a episode of Raw from April 14th 1997 from South Africa that is just a confusing mess of a show full of bad matches and technical issues. Main event was Ahmed Johnson vs Crush. Need I say more?
Russo didnt get any worse reaction than today's wwe stars. 😃😃
12:10 doesn’t matter what you say this is the greatest bit of tv ever aired
3:51 slapnuts moment
Loved that he called slapnuts a hillbilly!!
Can't be the worst when it has Shaggy 2 Dope sliding off the roof of the Partridge Family bus.
I'm suprised the Nov 29, 1999 episode of Nitro hasn't been mentioned yet.
I am 33 years old and just spent the last 5 mins laughing uncontrollably at your fart impression at 7:56
Being a guy is unreal😂😂😂
The longer I watched this the more I realized Vince… Vince might know what the hell hes doing still…
7:55 fucking killed me so bad 😂😂😂 Marky you a nut
This was hilarious! I had already stopped watching Nitro by 2000 because of how bad it had gotten, but watching it reviewed like this is so entertaining1 What a shitshow!
You should go back and watch the stuff you missed. It's as absolutely derisory as you can imagine, but fuck, is it entertaining.
@@JockMacAbre Nah, I'll just watch reviews like this. I can definitely enjoy it in small does but to watch the entire two/three-hour versions of these trainwrecks? No way! lol
I know this channel mostly covers TNA & WCW but got to think some of 95 and 2015 WWE/F could be a contender. If u want a really bad story go with the Authority Angle from WWE. Got to give credit to David Flair as he did a great job
Voicemail: “please leave your message for.. DOUBLE J. JEFF JARRETT.. after the tone..”
I think the most Russo thing I’ve ever heard of is being heel and face in one night while he books himself to win the world title 😭😭😭😭
Love your work bro! Keep it up 🙂
Speaking of ICP, you should watch JCW Volume 1-3 and review them. The commentary is hilarious, wrestling mostly terrible, but its great all around. You can find them on youtube. Worth a view and a review, they won't pop you for copyright.
To quote New Jack, 'Jeff, you were never over!'
The fact u enjoyed some of this is too funny 🤣
Beetles parts with JJ is legendary
Did kronik hit an F-5 before it was an F-5
It was Chris Kanyon's finisher for a few years before Lesnar took it as his own.
RIP Kanyon...who betta?
@@Soccerates not many better pal
I don't know if you meant Jarrett's "Kid Rock - Cowboy" Cover Theme or the calmer WWE Redubbed version when you said you didn't like his music "at the time" because the Kid Rock Cover was pretty nice. But WWE remade it and made it much more calm lol
Worst of all time? Not even close. It was better than the typical WWE or AEW show these days.
7:56 Perfect metaphor for their "careers." "Singing" and Wrestling, both match that sound effect perfectly!
8:39 To be fair, though, even Mark Madden hated Mark Madden by then.
Idk what’s worse… that I watched this live or that 24 years later I watched a recap of it. Crap is crap no matter the decade.
Lance Storm vs Sting, can't be a bad terrible episode.
Still way better than all of last 10 years of WWE shows.
Review the Raw from 11/26/18. Its nothing but endless Baron Corbin segments and the infamous Dean Ambrose getting shots in his ass skit (the one that ultimately convinced him to leave when his contract was up)
The Clown eating shit was hilarious
I always loved Lance Storm's tight/boots combo. He looked cool.
Hmm… Still looks better than the last 5 wrestlemanias.
You can do a video like that with almost every wwe weekly of 2021
your comment on the battery going flat on the bus made me laugh my ass off
@10:23 LMFAO This is why I love this channel. You peep the funniest and hidden shit out of these reviews lol
Since it's a re-up I'm sure I'm not the first to say it but that's not Jarretts theme, he really came out to cowboy by kid rock (instrumental, or a not so knock off) but wwe edits it out with the peaceful music, same for ddp, raven, Jericho, 3 count, skipper, Misfits in action, kronik, and a score of others
Great
Things would of been much better if Vince Russo didn't write himself into things
He had no business in front the cameras
Sting with the random gear switch up
Vito looks like Christopher Daniels ate a Mario red and white mushroom!
Lance Storm and Sting two really great workers putting on an excellent match was the lone bright spot in this toilet known as the Russo WCW.
