I forget the details of the actual incident (but it is detailed in a Shamrock shoot interview I saw on UA-cam a few years ago... it might still be on UA-cam) but Triple H was being a HUGE, HUGE ultra mega jerk towards Shamrock and others and Shamrock got fed up with him and put him in his place (he didn't hit him, but he stood up to him in a very firm way. Triple H didn't like that).

With Austin as the top babyface, Shamrock's best shot was as a heel, and early 1999 showed he was pretty damn good in the role. Austin was actually pretty short of top heels to work with in 98 and 99, so a feud with Shamrock instead of wrestling The Undertaker at like 8 different PPV's would've been ideal.
His problem was timing. He got in the WWF right when Austin was getting hot, Rock and Mick Foley were on the rise to the top, Taker was still there and Kane and HHH were becoming main even here as well. Maybe if he got there in 96 he could've feuded with Bret and Shawn and maybe even have a short title run.

He did ok in a few fights when he went back in 2000, but by 2002 he had no business competing with top fighters. The sport passed him by while he was in the WWF. If he never left, his MMA legacy would be much bigger. But WWF was paying more at the time. Can’t blame him. He should’ve just stuck with wrestling, but he was still hungry and wanted to prove himself. I can’t hold that against him.

The massive dip in quality on that 12th match was insane. That's exactly why I never watched any of the cinematic matches involving the Hardy Boyz or Bray Wyatt. Doesn't look nearly as interesting as people say it was

It was actually quality and having ICP a part of it made it easier to spend plus they were approx. 3hrs every week Yeah i am interested in finding them too. @@marccaselle8108 Yeah back when they were a part of Nwa/TNa was when they would have weekly PPVs for $10. It was actually quality and having ICP a part of it made it easier to spend plus they were approx. 3hrs every week
