- We checked out Rt 58 today as well as several drop in areas to the Creeper Trail. Rt 58 is a complete road once again. It may still be a long time before it is open but there is a road all the way across now. The Creeper on the other hand has seen very little repair. Her day will come!! It was a cold beautiful day. Hope you guys enjoy the day with us.
Updates on:
Orchard Hill
Rt 58
Dry Branch Rd
Creeper Trail
Straight Branch
And more
Looksgood I'm impressed much better 58 looks like a road now
I was part of the rebuild of the bridge abutment at Alvarado and I am so surprised to see that the grass has took holt and growing as good as it is with the cold weather that we have been having. I was also part of the building of the temporary bridge at Taylor's valley and glad to see that it is still there and functioning good. I really enjoy your videos of the progression.
Thank you so much for being part of the team to get our area back up and running!! The families trapped across the river in Taylor's Valley, had to be so relieved when the new bridge went in!
Did you video any of the destruction you saw up close?
Thanks so much for your hard work. You have all been putting it in. I know there is a lot more to do. Good luck pushing forward.
@@Curated_Properties_Explores the people of Taylor's valley were so nice and appreciative of us being there and in the face of all they endured they were worried about us having enough to eat and drink and constantly checking on us. This alone made all of the work woth it. I didn't get any videos of the destruction, but the videos that beautiful virginia is putting out is exactly what I saw. Directly after the storm happened I was in another area that had only wind damage and it was staggering at the amount of blowdown.
@mystery1740 We've too been-no pun intended-blown away by the micro bursts in little sections. It's hard to even capture well on video because the magnitude is so huge. We need to get a drone to get perspective.
@@Curated_Properties_Explores I was wondering what satellite images of the hurricanes path look like. The area around Erwin, batcave, chimney rocks, Asheville, and all along the nolichucky and pigeon rivers were destroyed.
Thank You for keeping us up-to-date on the creeper trail. Love your videos
It's amazing what Mother Nature can do. If I could afford to travel, help I'd be there. I've visited banner elk north Carolina for nascar races in Bristol Tennessee, various cities of Tennessee absolutely loved it. Buffalo NY.
Hopefully, you can return for future races and stay in Abingdon or Damascus.
The recovery so far has restaurants, local gift shops, and more reopened, and the area is beautiful year round!
Shout out Buffalo!! Thanks for watching.
They have truly done a lot of work since you were last there. Nice to see hope in the building and cleaning up right? Always a pleasure to see things change for the good !! Still a bit to g for sure!!
Another great video! Thanks for taking us along with you for the update. Appreciate the update on Trestle 15.
Looking much better making progress
Nobody talks about Florida. It's a lot worse. So many Coastal homes and businesses gone. The valley is alot smaller.
Probably the reason is Florida has much more experience in dealing with disasters and know the risks are much higher. This is new stuff for WNC. The mudslides and total transformation to now the rebuilding draws people in.
Where are your dogs
@@LeslieRobillard Been leaving the boy at home. I'm afraid for him to get in some bad water somewhere. I would hate to get him sick out there. After everything calms down a bit and we get a few more rains pushing everything down and weakening any potential hazards I'll get him back out there.
