This confirms my growth as a bourbon taster. My buddy and I cracked open a bottle of Taylor small batch a couple of months ago and I said that it has a faint odor of nail salons. But not in an off putting way.
Very interesting and entertaining video. I have to say, I do enjoy the improvements over the years in quality, sets, equipment, and review styles. Great job fellas.

Love this throw back. I like to hear about some of the good old times of whiskey. Asking now if you would pay $60-$80, but using it's only $40 and what if it was $30-$40 range as an argument.

Got lucky last night. Walked into a local liquor store and got a bottle of EHT small batch for $51.49.

I wouldn’t mind paying $100 for this if the distillery go a bigger portion but the msrp is $40 and the “Stores” charge whatever they can get for it. That’s what aggravates me.
Drank this while I watched your video. Def agree on the apple and cherry notes, and sweetness. Also the finish while pretty shot does have a nice sweetness and a bit of a baking spice note. Never got the Oak you spoke about in the original review. Also Agree this is way above a c-. Fun to look back at your old vids and see how far you've come.
Fun to watch the present vs the past...that is why they call it a gift (wait, what?)...I just was gifted with a bottle of Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch 1st and Only BinB which brought me hear to see your review(s)....it was very good and I would definitely say better than a C+ or B- . Thank you for sharing. Agree, that Eagle Rare is a more robust bourbon. Also Eagle Rate is easier for me to acquire in CT.

How timely as this was the "special" bottle available at Buffalo Trace yesterday! I was so happy to get a couple bottles of it on my first visit to BT.
I JUST bought this for $80 on Saturday. It's worth it. The "expert" opinion from you 2 is apprecaiated.
I'll pay that every time for it.
I bought one for $110 secondary b/c I couldn't find it for over a year, then a couple weeks ago picked one up in CA for $45. Love the EHT!

Just picked one up in CA for $70 today. Easily the cheapest I've seen it in the short amount of time I've been into bourbon. Super happy with it so far!

I have 2 bottles of EHT small batch being elevated to EH RIO! 1 bottle in a mini barrel that had honey in it, and 1 bottle with 1/3 of a Amburana spiral in it !! Blend to come soon!!

I wish this wasn't so hard to find. Saturday I found Buffalo Trace at my local Binny's for the first time ever. Last bottle on the shelf. I generally don't drink bourbon under 100 proof but I couldnt' pass up the chance.
I really love this concept, and I hope you do more. I do think you need a solution for the audio issue - it was too hard to hear/understand. Maybe pause the original video so you can talk for 10-15 secs, then let it play again till you have another thought?
My staple bottle! Try to keep a couple in the house for myself and for trades!

It seems to be $99 in Washington now. There's three bottles at my grocery store right now. It's just not worth that price.

If I’m out and really wanted it $100 is acceptable for me even tho I pay retail for it which is $50. It’s my favorite bottle of all time so overpaying for me is fine because I know what it tastes and it’s worth for me in my life. Hopefully everyone can find that one bottle for them that just seduces your palate every time.

I had gone back myself and watched some of these old videos and I have enjoyed them a lot. I agree with the comments about pausing the audio to hear your thoughts as it was hard to follow, other than that this was great.

I found one bottle of this about a year ago in Houston. Been slowly working on it. Never seen a bottle since. It's pretty good. I think I paid about $47 for it.

Found a makers BEP today and while I was there they had an allocated table limit 1 per. I’ve been trying to get any EHT for a long time. They had probably 10 small batch 5 straight rye and one single barrel. But I passed on them all for a Stagg. Hope to find an EHT again soon
Stagg is the right choice there imo
I picked 1 up in February and I did not like it but, after 3 months I had retasted, and this is Very Good.
I was getting these 2 years ago, right around the time I started watching your channel, for $36. This was my everyday whiskey.
then they started just gouging and never bought it again. Until last week when I found another local shop that had to for $60. Friday night I lit a cigar and drank about a third of the bottle. Soooo gooood
Kind of on this topic, but have you guys ever reviewed the EHT Straight Rye? I find that to be one of my top rye whiskies. A consistent banger even if priced a bit high or unfindable at times.
EH Taylor Small Batch is still an absolute banger at $60 and that’s 50% over retail. Absolutely wild
Most places online it's $120-130. Or you can get the EH Taylor full lineup bundle for a cool $43,000.

I think I'd rather have a Kentucky Spirit over EHT Small Batch considering they're the same price in my market. Similar availability since I only see them twice a year.

I just grabbed my first bottle of this for $51. Did a little research and found it to be aged 7 yrs.
I picked this bottle up for $51 a couple of weeks ago. It's the only one I've ever seen in person. I dont really want to open it until I find a backup. E.h. taylor small batch that is.

I definitely don't get those notes on my bottle of EH Taylor Small Batch hahaha. I wish mine tasted like what you're explaining haha. I get funky Raisins hardcore on the nose with a little bit of apple and light fruits unique sandalwood of sorts. Taste of oak, cherry, vanilla, and darker fruits. Definitely one of my least favorite buffalo trace products. I am hoping it's a one off bad bottle.
Id definitely agree mostly weird grape and apple. Still one of my preferred bt products but with my opinions/taste thats not saying much.
I wish 1980s/1990s Old Taylor still existed.

Took me a while but i found it in europe for around 80.
It's nice, but i don't know if it's my profile. Don't get much of the fruit (did at first, wonder how that works?) Can't find single barrel for under 190 and that's too rich for me.

Its fine, one of the better bt products to me. My issue with taylor is the same as most other bt products in my experience which is that its pretty bland and outclassed by other less expensive and more findable bottles to me. I think benchmark full proof is better and its easier to get and half the msrp. Over $45 theres just too many things id buy first. I think c was the right call. C is average.
EHT sb is $120 all over my state. I grab it at 80 every time.

Had a bottle this last weekend. To me, this drinks to, at most, 90 proof. Really like this bottle.

Yes, EHT SmB is "rare" but the C+ grade is spot on... it's a decent Bourbon; nothing to get too excited about
