Very unfortunate to read this week that vw is discontinuing the manual in the gti and r after 2024. Another sad day for #savethemanuals. Love my 20th anniversary edition manual R. Nice review.
A little late on a review video for this 20th, but, I have to correct you but there is lumbar support on the passenger side, it's a manual lever located on the middle / outboard part of the seat. Also, with the 20th Anniversary, it is carbon fiber accents whereas the non 20th is not carbon fiber. The 2024 model year for the R and GTi will be the last year for the manual option unfortunately.
A few weeks ago I test drove GTI and wound up getting my golf R. Night and day difference, the all wheel drive is amazing and I would never buy GTI after owning a golf R.
@@CarCoachReports ❤️ Thank you! Your video was one of many that I watched to decide. I actually had a GR Carolla on order but canceled it to get this race inspired grocery getter 😎
Nope. The pre production comments about 310lbs torque was incorrect or for the euro spec model only. In the U.S. at least, the DSG is 295 lbs, manual is 280 lbs.
It's only fast when it isn't sitting in the dealership service dept....🙄🤣 I'm taking a far more reliable Hyundai N, Toyota /Subaru 86, Mazda 3 turbo, or Subaru STX. 🔥💥👍 p.s. Lauren, the first 2024 Kona LTD. hit Rochester today at Matthews Hyundai. Impressive in person, awaiting your review of it.🎉😉🤗🥳
how dare you, your gr86 blows up on track, plus the golf r will run circles around any of these cars in a straight line speed, this is the best one out of the competition, looks better, faster and it definitely wont be sitting in a service dept , absolutely not true, so you should shut up and rethink about everything you said about this car cause this car is excellent and i will stand by that statement all day every day. How dare you disrespect the golf r.
Nice review, great car love the special features.
Fun but it still has really good practicality especially for us up here in snow country. Well done Coach 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Agreed, I had a white 22' for 10,000 miles and in the snow, the most fun car I have driven in the snow. I now have a blue 23' 20 AE, 100 miles so far!

The legend is back💪🏾
Love the quad pipes
Its such a fun car to drive.
love it but just hate that high pitched engine note, just sounds high strung but no heaviness to it.
69th thumbs up! Most definitely a quick, nimble and FAST car. +×.5 sec quarter mile. AWD is superb in the snow.
Thanks! 👍

Sometimes I wish they made a Jetta R but I wish they had a mk 7 Jetta TDI what would be more crazy is a beetle 🪲 R.
Nice but I'd just go with a GTI; less power and FWD but a much friendlier price. I feel the Type R would be overkill for me. Good review, though!
FWD and very quick with the DSG automatic.

@andrewsolis2988 awesome car - enjoy!

@@CarCoachReportsI like when you comment positive things when people buy the car you have a video on this makes me happy
12.5 quarter miler at 111mph. Google doesn't allow for editing many posts
$45,440 aa tested in 2022!!
German Machine🇩🇪❤🎉
Dash is carbon fiber 😊
Have to correct you. 310lb ft torque here. 315hp is correct.
Manual tranny has 280 ft lbs

You had me at far more reliable until you mentioned Hyundai/KIA.
