Picked this up for the first time last night. Batch # 7. Damn is this good. Really pleasantly surprised. Got it for $62 and is worth twice as much regardless if it's NAS. This is excellent.
Tried it and it's pretty good. I am more of smoky guy but this is nice. Will keep it my collection.
My wife says I over pepper everything I make so I may end up loving this one. Ha
Nice review, boys. I had a bottle of the batch 1 from this series and I really loved it. I think my impression was closer to Shawn's. Love the ABV position too. Not as high as some of my cask strength bombs, but not too low either. Definitely gonna try more batches. Also I LOVE seeing Mark getting some notes back.
Non-chill, coloring, 48% olo and bourbon casks, NAS, damn good whisky. I have batch 4, and I can't think of a reason this wouldn't be my "everyday go to dram".
Well if there was an age statement, no coloring and some peat it would be perfect.

I really like Aberlour, I have not had a 'bad' bottle from this distillery and I just opened and tried Casg Annamh Batch 6 (wich I think it pronounced 'Casg AnnaV' in Gaelic, and 'Aberlour Abuna' the other one). For now I think I will agree with the '3' middle rating :D A young whisky, probably 8 to 10 y.o. (?) and probably with caramel added. Very nice, easy to drink, good abv and not chillfiltered.
Great review as usual, I really enjoyed Aberlour line up,Aberlour 12 is my go-to when friends come over that not huge whiskey drinkers. I did not try that one yet, but I will now. I really want to put my hands on and trying to get Aberlour 14 year old double cask matured.
I've never had an Aberlour that wasn't smoother than a prom queen's thighs. We couldn't get it in Southern California back in the 80's and 90's, so I'd get it from my wife's aunt in Santa Fe, New Mexico (she worked for a liquor distributor).
Nice review. Figures I agree more w the broken nose 😂 I love sherry bombs & sweeter whiskies. Also love the 12 & A'bunadh. I'm pretty much a proof w hore, but this one drank extremely hot to me. Funny my palate usually alines a lot more w Drew & Shawn, but on this one I'm w Mark & Andrew. This one just drinks a bit too spicy hot for my taste....

You guys were kind of all over the board on this one including an NR so it seems to be a very individual preference single malt.
Always been tempted to try this one and not got round to it... baby got BUT!

Analogy! I lost my taste (from having the bug) and we were joking about me tasting from memory, kind of like people that say the have sensations from an amputated limb or finger... it's weird to taste things from memory... ~Mark
@@Scotch4Dummies OHHH ok. and I totally get it. same thing happened to me. I caught the 'Rona a couple months ago, lost smell and taste for 2.5 weeks. I almost forgot the smell of peat, I was so upset. Lagavulin 16 tasted like sweet water. One of the guys from scotch test dummies (YT channel) is going on 132 days since rona no smell, no taste. Whiskey review channel - cannot smell or taste for 4+ months. Devastating.
