I hope they'll be critiquing the regrettable fact that we get four main characters and they're all white as snow despite France being a rich and diverse nation with at least eighty percent pocs. Much of France's grand history can be attributed to non-whites. It's a videogame, that doesn't mean combat is more important than providing a modern audience with a message.
It’s similar but not exactly the same. Unless I’m remembering wrong, all you can do in those games defensively is press a button when you get hit to take less damage. This lets you parry/dodge/jump to avoid things entirely, and each option is different in use. Like dodging is easier than parrying, but a successful parry lets you do a counter, including team counters if your entire team parries a multi-target attack.

As a person that doesn't generally like turn-based combat, this is absolutely not the reason why people don't like it. I like freedom of movement (sprinting/jumping/actions that don't have cooldowns or turn-based rulesets). Most games have some form of dodge or parry mechanic nowadays anyways including turn-based games (south park, like a dragon, etc). This includes QTEs. It is just a standard as they come turn-based combat game and that's fine; no need to cope for people like me that will likely not enjoy or play this game for subjective reasons. If you wildly oversimplify what he said and ignore all the difference he mentioned, then yeah! Or if you didn't pay attention during Paper Mario and didnt notice you can only block in those games, and can't parry or dodge👍🏽

@@DreadhatpogNo, it’s not lol. Most parry mechanics in games stop combo strings entirely. Like in Ghost of Tsushima. Once you get that 1 parry off, you can counter. Great, so they're taking away the one thing I like to use turn based games for, which is being able to get up and do something each time there's a turn rotation.
I usually get bored of turn based game since that combat system isn't engaging enough.
