Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I do wonder how the did those calculations, you know, would have to account for timezones, and the fact that most if not all the Scandinavian countries celebrate on th evening of the 24th etc. And what about places that don't celebrate christmas at all? Feels like there are so many variables to that, it would be borderline impossible

Idea, do a battle where you have 2 teams of 2, build a vehicle that is like a battlebot, but one person controls the weapon and another person controls the vehicle. To make it more fun and violent, you could build a detachable mini battlebot that can separately go after their vehicle. Last one standing wins

Scrap man I think it'd be super cool if you made a all-terrain type vehicle with the new logic and physics now. As it being all terrain it should be able to do the following, fly in air and in space to water and ground and out of water and ground. Should be fully submersible and good underwater as well as in air and on ground and in space. Convertible from ground to water and vice versa. Also should be able to drive on walls/ asteroids/ on the ground underwater as that is also all terrain.
I know this is one hell of a tall order but I know you can do it scrap man! We believe in you and like if you agree and want this idea to be mechanicked😂

@@-aid4084 we know it's a fun challenge to do ourselves, but we'd like to see Scrapman's approach to dealing with it.
trouble is the hydrodynamics are much more punishing than aerodynamics, needing all trailing edge slopes, even folding in wings are a right pain so you'll likely end with a rocket brick with gyro turning without hours and hours working at it.
I think the issue youre having with randomly sinking is due to your front wedge. When you turn sharp, the bottom of the wedge touches the water which instantly redirects your vehicle straight down. Maybe try using up/down facing wedges for the bottom 2?

Well bionic league hovercrafts are impossible, so he'd have to settle for gokart league there
Not sure right now if you do this more often but if you stay on the inside of a track you save time because its less distance. Here you're on the eight side in the beginninh, meaning the outside while nr1 is on the inside. He cuts out the distance he has to drive in a corner. So not only taking the pillar on the inside to save distance but the entire track.

Dethrone with the new damage physics would be cool, you guys should try doing that again with different vehicles.
Instead of going for the most optimized builds, I think going for meme builds would be a fun one to go for. You're not going to be up against fair comparisons, but building like a semi-truck to race in Three Bridges, or a tricycle for the speed circuit, goofy things like that and then trying to optimize those to get the best time at those races in vehicles that clearly weren't meant for those kinds of races. That's kind of what is down near the lower ends of the leaderboards and it's amazing what some people have made. Racing against a fairly accurate Willey's Jeep and some weird platform with huge wheels and a bunch of engines on it because that's what that particular builder either was capable of or decided was going to be their vehicle of choice is pretty hilarious and the glitches matter a whole lot less. If you're trying your best as well as glitching and you're still down near like rank 1,500 in super sonic league in the drag race; first off bless your hearts, but second off, it clearly didn't help you. So hence why I'm just saying maybe go for a bit more casual challenges of "I'm going to set a record on this race using X type of vehicle in Y league." That being said, a bulldawg league monowheel would be hilarious on any of the courses.

Video idea: try to build a logic controlled car that finishes a race by itself using either sensors to steer or you would have to time the turns

Gotta maximize your corners, start the turn on the outside and move to the inside of the turn and you can keep more of your speed
I'd like to see you return to the new race track and design a sub 1 minute race car - no gyros and 4 wheels (gyros break racing on this game)

I love this race series thingy
You can probably shave off a lot of time on multiple races by adding an extra mode for lower turning. This is then used to finetune on straights or shallow corners.
Oh man, i used to get top ten positions in the hover race every update, i should have put in a time this update and maybe i could have appeared in the video 😆
I’ve been playing a lot of gear blocks recently and having a lot of fun, it would be cool to see you play some gear blocks :)
i did using gyro facing forward with angle so it doesn’t go up or down and minimized the downforce to almost nothing
and made it aerodynamically like a train

Hey scrap id like to see a video of you automating a race with logic to get at least like top 10% I think that would be so insanely cool.
The pistons on 1st are probably to shift their weight during turns to deal with the nose up/down issue.

Try using different types of wedges to find time up or down force. I know it’ll result in worse aerodynamics, but will slots for finer tuning.

It might be interesting to try and automate, or mostly automate, a race using sensors and logic.

I think you meant the Bumpers but no They Don't Effect aerodynamics so they Don't Block Other Block's Drag and they Don't Increase the Drag
SCRAPMANNNNN EVOLUTION DOGFIGHTERSS PLEASEEEEE. It could be separate evolutionary paths (each player sticks with the same plane they had from the start but changes it each round) so that there's more diversity and like reactionary evolution and stuff
Eg if your opponent uses thrust vectoring, next round you could put on an emp instead of an extra smart cannon

I have a really cool idea for a video what if you went around the race track multiplayer or not. And using logic you can make it with the speed that you are going you cannot go lower than that so if you are at 60 km per hour and you go lower you explode if you go higher than 60 kph for example 80 kph and you go lower than 80 you go boom. Plz understand it

Are you doing the logic trick for the thrusters? Might help at the start, but probably not enough.
I think the piston can change the center of mass of your creation.
I think the logic and pistons are to control the balance of the vehicle
With Hoverpads-> Scrapman builds what amounts to another speedstick and races a course until he gets a good time.
How would you even incentivize not doing a speedstick or glitch build?
well a speedstick is how you get the least amount of drag, so as long as it is a purely about getting the fastest time speed stick will be the best legitimate build

i need scrapman to realise how much speed he loses when he is turning. he must add smooth and slow turning capabilities to that servo. maybe accumulator could do the job. like first corner, yes hard turn is essencial but in last turns he lost so many chances to be 1st.

Out of curiosity, how does the accumulator interact with thrusters, and can this be used to make a logic gate hover system, so you could hover at whatever height you want instead of the settings of the hoverpad, which feels kinda... Inaccurate.
