Welcome to the channel.
Beautiful work and exactly what i need to do. Thank tou
Glad it was helpful!
Someone needs a sharper drill bit! LOL Was he using a mason bit?
I always use carriage bolts.
I'm trying to understand the reason for the extra chunk of 4x? I've also been trying to doodle the 3 conditions and how attachment works for the other 2 as this corner setup is well understood. Are there videos of the other 2 conditions (parallel and perpendicular to the joists)? Love the idea of the above deck cleat for setting depth. Looking to do this in a retrofit for a deck that has no railing. The good news is we have full access under the deck as it is elevated a few feet.
"Wah !!!! Those screws are soooo expensive...." We older guys could care less about the price. We do our best to do it once. A deck this size?...what the difference in price using extra screws? Fifty buck? LOL
Thank you for the video and What size drill bit and what type of 10” lag bolts are you using ?
I used a 1/8 inch drill bit and the bolts are called Timberlok lag bolts or Headlok lag bolts.
Thank you so very much for the quick and prompt reply and I will see if I can find a 1/8 inch drill bit that’s 10 to 12 inches long at HD!
Why didn’t u use post for railing directly from ground in order to save time n make it much stronger? But this is also strong enough
Do you ever use carriage bolts?
I'm a perfectionist, so I would have Counter Sunk all the Visible Exterior Holes. Only thing I would have done different. Otherwise, Great Work! 💪💪👊🇺🇲🇺🇲
Why?? The screws are flush
Is that treated wood?
we are building our decks at the same time jim are you using sono tubes?
Actually on this one I used the existing cement and just need to add extra joists. Send me some picture of your progress
