- G'Day Viewers! This week is a DOUBLE MAKEOVER! I restore the original 252 Rover 2000 and it's replacement 322 Rally equivalent. This has made for a longer video, but I hope it's entertaining enough to keep you going!

I've done two of these myself - a 'stock' version representing an old schoolchum's Dad's car and a Code3 special representing an actual works entry Monte Carlo rally car, from the Poland start in 1965, in its own little diorama. Nice toys to work on though I have yet to find a cropped-window Transolite car, mint & boxed or otherwise, in which the rear window is not cracked! I think if I come across a Golden Jacks car, the roof will go in favour of a Webasto folding sunroof lookalike.
Terrific recovery on the Rally Car, Peter, and you are right about BlackSquare: really quality products - I got them to produce the correct decals for my white Monte Rover.
Both cars turned out beautifully considering how awful they both were! Congratulations!
I just really like the shape of these Rovers. I'd like to find a golden jacks one, but they always seem to be in terrible shape. A sliding roof is a 110% better idea than the 'glass' roof look. Thank you very much.

Awesome a roofless job done,and was going to watch you last night,and Toi Polloi was doing Sindys Space buns,so watched this morning with a cup of tea,awaiting your sound effects,I was not disapointed,and the giant fly whilst masking was lovely,as was your restoration blah blah ...

Great work PB, I've a tip for you if you have an airbrush, you might know it but if you mix some red ink into a gloss clear you don't need much spray light coats and you should have a candy like colour, you can do it with blue ink as well.👍😀
Thank You John! Wow, it's really funny you mention that. I used that technique on the Corvette in my very first video and as I'm working on another one for my upcoming 4th Anniversary Video, I thought I'd use the ink method again. But four years have fried my brain and I just dropped the ink in the airbrush and couldn't work out why it was running off like water. I completely forgot you have to put it in clear until you reminded me right now. Special shout out for you lol.

they look great, great work on that bluddy roof. :) good thing it's white now, though. but with zinc one gotta stop somewhere. :) but, still. ^^
the purple looks like Revell enamel paint to me. I didn't know it could be so tough... XD
love the blue, too. it could work well as a spectraflame replacement methinks.
Yeah it just didn't want to come off. It was on thick too in places. I might give it a go on my next redline, I haven't done one in a while.

Thank you Garry! I've been well, no complaints. I see the DDA LC / LJ Toranas are out now, but for some reason the Brock version hasn't, and that's the one I ordered. I wonder what the hold up is. Have a great weekend!

Those are both winners, Peter. You did a good job on both of them. Didn't the rally version, come with a little kangaroo? Or was that a different set? I also noticed the Dodge and Ram emblems being displayed. Tomorrow I am going to spend a few hours in New Hamburg, the home of Moparfest. I will drop into the auto parts store and see what I can scrounge for you in the way of stickers.
Thank you Gerry. The Kangaroo came with the Hillman Hunter, I'm still eating kinder eggs trying to get one. I wouldn't know which way to turn at a US Chrysler show. I'd read about them in Mopar Action and the like, they always looked amazing.

What make is the paint pen please
That would be a POSCA PCF 350 Silver Brush Pen. I got mine from Officeworks for just under $10.00. I think I've mentioned this before but having a Starlet as a profile pic marks you as an individual of taste and culture. Mrs. PB bought one new in '97 until we lost it in an accident. Replaced it with another one and lost it in another rear ender.
