I am sure you're right. It would make sense if they still have some of the previous sounds onboard. These were the piano sounds in the factory sound bank A. I went there agin today and found more in Bank C. Not sure if those are also reused, as I have never had a Kronos myself. But will share them later.
To be totally honest, I wanted to cover the Kronos, as many seems to be interested. But I am not that much into workstations these days. So canmt speak of the functionality and workstation features. While I try not to be opinionsted but just share the sounds I collect, I must admit that I initially enjoyed the painos in Rolands V-Stage more… But of course it’s all first impressions from a bush tradeshow floor with lots of external noise bleeding through the headphones.
@@giquo Probably gonna be many videos out in the days to come, but I'd say that Kronos is a very big investment to make without having tried it first-hand in advance. :-)
This was an amazing idea & I started following you because of the effort but honestly I can't tell if the sounds are good cause there's no nuance in the demo. I understand using a midi file but find a pianist that plays with skill & dynamics. I'm sure you could ask your subscribers & you would have received some great midi files. Please don't be discouraged I see your building but never be afraid to ask 😀
Thanks for chiming in. And for subscribing. Since you reply to this video, I guess your comment is about this particular video? The tradeshow vids are not MIDI files. And I the conditions are definitely far from perfect. I bring my in-ear monitors that isolates better than the typical headphones at booths. But still, I can literally only hear what I am playing half the time. The demo units are often located close to a live stage. That is also one of the reasons I decided to mostly do the same phrase on all sounds this year. Then you have the issue of standing at at table sometimes with the keys either at your hip or your chest. Sometimes, there is a decent chair and a stand. But most of the time, some reason, there is not. And finally, also at least half the time you have someone standing right in your neck signalling in every way possible that they would also like to play… I am not trying to defend my playing. It is as it is, and under the conditions, it won’t be much better, unfortunately. 😆 Finally, I should mention that I am not going to NAMM or other shows ‘just’ for this. I have clients and ‘real’ work to do at the show so I have tl sneak in these demos between meetings. Sometimes you can literally hear that I am in a hurry. Both rushing and shortening the phrases. Sound like a horrible thing, I guess. But I also somehow enjoy doing it and will continue as long as it’s also fun! 😃
Thank you for taking the time for the sneak peek. I am more impressed with Roland V-Stage piano sounds than this. If I have to have a great converter interface (Probably another $2000 US) to get a much better sound out of the Kronos 3, then it is better to go with Yamaha Montage, which sounds amazing out of the box. I guess they were not kidding when they said they will bring the Kronos back. Once again thanks for taking the time to share this.
I have found over the decades with UA-cam you can't judge the sound unless you are sitting in front of a piano and playing it yourself. Then you need great headphones too that you know well from mixing, mastering or monitoring your other synths. A good piano (even a digital) will sound great or poor depending on who is playing it and how they are recording it. We still have people on YT recording pianos with their cell phone microphone.
I agree. The idea, though, is to give a sneak peek for those whi can’t actually be here. That’s all. Btw, was recorded through a USB-C audio interface. Not with the best converters in the world, obviously, but not through the phone mic.
Its is not kronus 3 !!!!! This is old piano sound Why are you bulsheet ???? I had the kronus and now have the nautilus at i can reconize the sound even if i am sleeping
I guarantee you that this is the new Kronos. They may well have kept a lot of the old sounds and presets in there, but it was indeed captured at the Korg booth at NAMM 2025. I was there again today and got some more sounds from one of the other sound banks. Maybe there are some new stuff in there, Unfortunately, I have never owned any of the Kronos versions and wouldn't know which is reuse and which is not.
I’m not impressed with the playing. Those piano sounds are for certain songs and you play the same phrase over and over and over. Monotonous. I’m a musician too and I think the sounds are great otherwise and I can’t wait to try them myself to get a better feel. Sorry but that’s just how I feel
No need to be sorry. I am not looking to impress anybody, and the repetition is kind of where the concept for the channel landed eventually - in order to create shootouts, I need the same content. In the shootouts it is actually the same MIDI file playing back. But here of course it is not. And yes, I do get tired of that phrase myself. But... There will always be someone saying: "Don't play the same thing." When 5 mins later someone else says: "Why do you play the sounds so differently, I can't compare. Play the same thing!" And the idea was never (whether in the tradeshow noodling demos or the shootouts) to give anybody an idea of what it sounds like in their hands - that's impossible. I just want to share some sounds that may (or may not) be a part of people's research process. Hopefully, it could be a hint for a direction, but never go buy something based on a youtube video.
I am not a Kronos expert, but I heard that the main difference between the 2 and 3 is a faster boot-up time. I was more impressed by their Grandstage X they showed last year: ua-cam.com/video/GpHBT7G9oVo/v-deo.htmlsi=VMrGKZXq2ZnsjtrO
Nice 😮
These aren't the new pianos - these are the ones from the Kronos 2. All of these presets are present on the Kronos 2 from 2015.

what are your first impressions m8?
is it a repaint of the KK2 ? or do we have something worth buying?

@SoundsLikeThisGear we shall wait and see, or at least me, on UA-cam, cus I have no chance to test one myself

More dynamics than actual sound.

You're welcome. I try to only share sounds and not opinions. But I tend to agree.
Roland V-Piano inside V-stage is a lot better!
All kinda sounds the same - bad. 😁
I thought the same. I would had preferred not sequencing the same song with all the sounds. Now the personal character doesn’t come through.

Yamaha montage MX is better
It is also a very nice keyboard for sure.
Korg para piano acústico não dá.
I like these better: ua-cam.com/video/GpHBT7G9oVo/v-deo.htmlsi=VMrGKZXq2ZnsjtrO
@@SoundsLikeThisGear esse é o melhor piano que já ouvi da korg. Esse acertaram a mão. Mas eu curto mais a yamaha e kawai.
Yes, I was also surprised I couldn’t find them in the new Kronos. They may be there but not easy to find if they are…
