I just started training my 8 month old puppy and its the snowing season so i needed a sled and this helped a whole lot!!! Thank you vary much for teaching me so many tips and tricks about dog sledding!
Thanks for watching. We're glad you enjoyed the video. Check out others that we have on our channel! They'll inspire you to get out in the snow with your dogs!
DIY dog sled-I ❤️ it! I was hoping you guys would do a video like this. I can’t wait to see the sequel as to how it all turned out. I’m curious...Do your huskies react to the coyote chorus? I live next to a springs preserve full of coyotes. My husky is fully aware of our howling neighbors but she seems really nonchalant about it-like she’s “too cool for school” to even think about chiming in or howling back at them.
Our dogs will react when they hear the coyotes howling, but they don't reply. When I had my big team of malamutes, all 12 dogs lived outside in a kennel and they would howl on their own every day but never replied to the coyotes. I think Bandit and Shiva are intimidated by the coyotes but the malamutes were certainly "too cool for school" when it came to the coyotes.
I really appreciate this because in Christmas im looking to convince my parents to let me do dog sledding with my akita. The only issues is the actual sled. I was looking into them and some where up to $400! which was insane for me. I appreciate this :D
We try to put out a new episode every week...often twice a week. I shot another sledding run yesterday and will package that into an episode soon. We haven't tested the DIY sled yet but hope to soon. Holiday preparations are taking our time right now...and it looks like the snow might be in rough shape late this week. Long story, we may have the second part shot and posted later this week or middle of next.
I mounted the chair so that the legs were centered over where the old bindings had been, so the center of the seat is right over the high point of the arch in the camber of the ski. Feel free to steal!
Beautiful doggies!

Thanks for watching! Let us know if you build your own sled and how it works out for you. Good luck and enjoy adventuring with your dog!
I'm very new to mushing if you want to call what I do that I run one dog to help pull my winter gear out and I find your video very helpful
Sounds great! I call that mushing for sure! Thanks for the comment!
When will video 2 be out and would be able to bring our 2 huskies down to pull with your huskies. We live near Boston and are new to mushing.

Before I "steal" your idea, how do you measure for the proper spot for the chair on the skis?
