Greetings from the blanket in front of the woodstove. In addition to being adept at rolling in the snow, I would also like to point out my leading role 43 seconds into the video. Love, Radar.
don't get this confused with racing tho. Racing is another thing entirely and needs to be made illegal. I wrote a reddit ab it www.reddit.com/r/dogs/comments/japt8w/discussion_so_i_work_in_sled_dog_racing/?context=3
@@doggodoggo3000 well I think mushing by ur self or with friends is okay, but the races where they keep them in the cold and only letting them out when it’s time to sled is bad I mush my dog in a bike put somebody in front of him and he will go faster then 6 dogs and a sled
@@emilyplaysgamesstuwe5801 I agree! I like mushing. But Im trying REALLY REALLY hard to teach people all the bad that comes with racing. Greyhound racing is illegal in 41 states and in Florida starting next year. Dog sled racing is bad for all the same reasons. mushing is good. racing is bad. Just be safe on your bike with your dog. And wear a helmet! The faster you go the more likely you are to cause an injury to your dog. Plus If you slow down, your dog will be able to run farther. Dog mushing is about more than going really fast all the time. and tie the dog to the FRAME of the bike. not your handle bars or stem. You don't want the dog to be able to steer the bike. You want full control and both hands on the handle bars. I just got a snowboard i plan to let the dogs pull me with. im going to use 3 or 4 retired sled dogs. (i work in sled dog racing thas how i know its REALLY bad, i used to work at a zoo and an animal rescue)
This series was so fun to watch. My class watched one a day as we were doing our Iditarod/Woodsong Unit. We fell in love with Noun and Verb, as well as the other dogs too. My students were wondering if Goober is still around?? Thank you for sharing!!
I am currently in the process, my girl just gave birth we are 3 weeks in as of today. Cant wait to watch your content so I can be prepared. Hello from Lebanon
Hello from Talkeetna, Alaska! I just started working with a musher and I will start practicing running this winter! Amazing video and I love Noun and Verb!!!
my Aleutia looks just like the little one you are holding in the very first shot. i got 2 from the same litter, now they are about a year and almost a half. love them to pieces. thank you so much. i am dreaming of coming up there in the next few years and volunteering with some huskies!
Greetings from Norway. Nice little mini-series Chris 😊👍🏻 Not just filming and editing, but I like you around the dogs and the way you interact with them 🙏🏻
I’m making my first trip to Fairbanks next month and one of my bucket list is dogsledding. But i first wanted to make sure dogs are ethically and lovingly taken care of. You proved me just that. Thanks a lot for this content. I’m a subscriber now. Also, I think you have a GREAT taste in music - so just ignore ungrateful commenters below.
Hope you have a great trip! It might be a little early for sledding on snow in a month...but maybe not! The first snow is in the forecast! We are almost always able to be out on skis and sleds by Halloween.
hey. just discovered this channel. I want to train my german mix to pull a sled in the winter and possibly a small cart during the other seasons. reason for personal carrying items, and to carrying my smaller older dog. I have a channel as well and do loads of hiking, but my little dog cant get out and about in winter, there is yet a small enough bootie to fit his tiny feet (3lbs) and so i figured if i can get my girl to haul a sled/cart she can be of use to him. while we dont do LONG hikes or walks, maybe 3 hours to 5 hours max at one time (but possible a few times through the day including late night and early morning, i'd love to be able to have her do some work and him to be able to get out and about more, especially in the colder months. Any tips or advice?
Hi Ashley! Hope your idea works out. I'm afraid, though, that I'm not sure about how to train other breeds of dogs to pull. Some dogs do it! Some dogs don't! But huskies are bred to love it. If you wanted to see what happens, get your dog in harness, put something in front of your dog that she wants (like you, or a friend with a treat), and let her get used to the idea of pulling. If that works out, see if she'll pull with you behind her. Good luck!
I started watching it,it sounded good but then, the ..I don't know "music?" was a total turn off. I only got a few min in and I'm moving on. you don't need crappy music to make this video.

Greetings from Montana. I have Siberian huskies that I am breeding, I want to train them to mush… I don’t know where to start though
La mia razza preferita sono i pastori tedeschi classici nerifocati pelo corto e lungo. Anche se praticare questo sport è fantastico.
Where did you get your puppies
Hi Chris. Do you give tours?.
Sorry no! But if you’re coming to Fairbanks, I recommend Black Spruce for tours.
They are soo cutee
Raising sled dogs.Tell me about it.Ha ha.When you think youve got them figured out you get the the surprise.
