At that moment he not only failed Tengen's mission, he failed his and Gojo's mission, he failed to save the person who poured her heart out to him and he was willing to fight Tengen for, and to top it all off, the only way the person who shot her could have gotten there is if Gojo had been dealt with.
Riko murdered, Gojo killed, and since Kuroi was between Toji and Geto there's even a chance she's dead as well. Like a maelstrom of horrific events for a guy that thought he and his best friend were untouchable and had the power to do whatever they thought was right.

You're downplaying Heavenly Restriction. Bruh, it's like literally a gift from God where the user gets max stats in one category in return for something else. They don't just have "more physical strength", it's a superhuman perk. Take Toji here, for example. He got maximum physical stats in return for no CE. He would fold a lot of S1 and 0 characters in seconds.
Maki does have a bit of cursed energy at this point on in the story just not a lot, Toji’s the first person at this point in time to have “0” cursed energy. It’s a common misconception in the fanbase. Majority of normal humans have cursed energy just not a lot and can’t control it the same way sorcerers are nor produce as much. Maki is a zenin she should have cursed energy but due to heavenly restriction it has taken majority away from her. At this point in the story she would have less than a normal human but she still has a bit.

For ppl wondering about the meaning behind the ocean/fish, Fish symbolism is pretty prominent in the jjk anime. In every opening song you will consistently see them in particular emperor angelfish which are fish commonly known fall prey to vicious sea currents. This phenomena represents many characters like our mc yuji, junpei and now riko. These characters were thrown into a setting regardless of their will and forced to either adapt or die. Junpei with him being bullied and exposed to mahitos influence. Yuji with his grandpas “cursed” last words and sukunas influence, and Riko as the predetermined vessel of tengen. Riko and junpei failed to adapt and were taken by the currents of the jujutsu world. Yujis story has and will be him endeavoring/adapting through a life where his being is at the whim of his surroundings

22:35 yeah you can tell he's absolutely likable, the way he taught gojo to be nice to other people and to use jujutsu for protecting the weaker ones. It would be so nice if he's still with us (on the protagonist side) and be the teacher at jujutsu tech, I'm sure he'd make a good teacher :(
These types of characters that can slash through your domain of comfort and put you into fight or flight mode are extremely rare but when done well you end up with someone like Toji. The amount of screen presence this man has had since his introduction is insane. His design is simple, extremely so. Black hair, black shirt, black shoes & white pants like he's on a leisurely stroll. The only defining feature that stands out is his scar. Yet when he's on the screen you feel this sense of unease. Very effective character design.
They were so evil for playing the outro song as Riko was saying she wanted more time with everybody, really thought it was one of those where that's the outro rather than cutting to the normal one, similar to what Demon Slayer has done a few times where it just fades to credits
The special grade cursed tool "Inverted Spear of Heaven" is coated in reversed curse energy, that's why it can cancel out the effects of cursed techniques that use your usual cursed energy.

I like Toji and he has his own cool edgy aura but this lesson you said actually can be applied to Toji too, if you know what will be happened later to Toji. Just because Gojo was blessed with limitless and Six Eye, doesn't mean his life was always easy, I like he has his own struggle on his journey. If you didn't notice, the curse that is wrapped around Toji is also the same one that gave Geto the playful cloud curse tool when fighting okkotsu in the zero movie
The only other people with Heavenly Restriction so far are Maki (very similar to Toji, only difference being maki has some CE, the same as any normal person, while Toji has none) and Mechamaru who’s restriction gave him a CT and CE, but at a very heavy price.

Someone who has healing ability is Shoko, the attractive doctor who inspected Yuji's body aka the girl with short brown hair in this timeline. Shoko is known as the one who can use Reversed Cursed Technique (a technique that can heal, like Yuta in JJK 0), eventho it's different from sukuna RCT. I won't tell the details because it may lead to spoiler. Also the reason why Toji can stab Satoru because satoru turned off his infinity, if you rewatch, you can see the detail when Satoru eyes glowing then stop glowing when he turned off his infinity. he was nonstop using his technique and haven't slept for 3 days to protect riko :( the man needs a break.
I’m happy I remembered Shoko can heal but she must be really good if she’s the one who brought Gojo from the brink. Our boy is pretty much dead. Satoru life support arc. 😭

You aren't wrong. What happened with Toji here is the start of Geto's fall to villainy later on. Toji kicking Gojo's ass so hard is also partially why he is far nicer when he is older compared to how arrogant he was as a kid. There is more that happens with Geto but yeah, this is where it starts with Geto's fall to the point you see in Jujitsu 0.
You know, with how the pacing of the plot goes, I'm kinda scared now specially that after a few episodes is "Shibuya arc." I thought this season's gonna have a cool vibe/relax plot sort of thing plus my friend is a manga reader and she told that since Nanami ia my fave character, he'a gonna have lots of screen time in this arc..
Since you are familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist already. The way I understand heavenly pacts is similar to equivalent exchange. Since Toji and Maki don't have cursed energy, they were gifted with extraordinary physical prowess instead. In Mechamaru's case, since he was born without arms and legs and would burn in the sunlight, he got gifted with immense cursed energy instead. If you're going to start Hunter X Hunter someday, there will be plenty of these "equivalent exchange" kinda stuff too. JJK was heavily inspired by HxH after all. It's kind of the same as revealing your technique to your enemy will actually make it more effective, but it you're putting the risk of your enemy knowing how to counter it.
This is why i enjoy watching your reactions so much, the theorizing was great. While everyone has a crush on Satoru, Suguru had my heart, he's so genuinely good. I was dying to see this episode, but I'm also dying to watch the next two and have you react to them. I know you'll lose it on both for two completely different reasons. Also, in case no one mentioned this, watch Satoru's eyes, whenever he doesn't have his technique active they dull down, if he has it active they are the bluest eyes to ever blue. 7:06 Present Gojo is able to have infinity activated 24/7 even when he sleeps, but we are watching Gojo's past, when he wasn't able to do so. When they reached Tengen's barrier he deactivated his infinity and moments later he was attacked by Toji with a normal weapon to secure the attack. When the battle begins, Gojo activates infinity again but Toji attack him with the cursed tool "Inverted spear of heaven" wich has the ability of forced release of cursed techniques, cancelling gojo's infinity. (Something similar to the weapon Miguel uses against Gojo in JJK 0)
What a great father figure, Toji helped gojo and geto grow up to be who they are today 😊. I'm sure his kid will grow up to be the most mentally stable in the series!
Beanie dude is named Ino! Great memory. Haibara Yu is Nanami's classmate, while in season 1 Ino is a younger sorcerer (21-ish) trying to get a recommendation from adult Nanami.
Geto was truly an angel, so sweet and with such a good heart and I don't care he became a villain, he is still my fav character. I know what coused his change and I think it is reasonable but he deserved so much better :( just imagine him as a teacher, together with Gojo they would be the best teachers ever and also would still be the strongest duo. Geto could absorb any special grade cursed spirit defeated by Gojo. They would be unbeatable.
shoko is also able to use reverse curse technique! we saw her trying to explain it to gojo and geto last episode. remember she was the doctor with yuuji when he was “dead” in season one

-Curse energy manipulation is the most basic thing a sorcerer can do, it can be used to do basic stuff like strengtheninv their power or do something insane like Gojo's infinity which required insane amount of precise calculation to keep up.
-Cursed technique is a technique for curse manipulation that is unique to each individual sorcerers and or high level cursed spirits. Sorcerers already possesed cursed technique since birth.
-Exorcising the act of killing/destroying a curse spirit.
-Domain Expansion is the highest form of refined cursed sorcery technique where a user floods their surrounding with cursed energy creating an area where all of their attacks guranteed to hit. Generally a domain has a barrier around it, but there are some domain without barrier and only limited to range like Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine. Domain expansion when casted against each other the one most refined will took effect.
Simple domain provide a small domain of cursed energy to protect against a domain. So far used by Miwa
Black Flash is essentially a critical hit done by using cursed energy to increase physical power. Used by Yuji and Nobara
Cursed Object and Tools, cursed object usually used to contain curses, while Tools are coated with cursed energy to specifically fighting Cursed spirits. Used by Maki and Toji
Cursed doll, a doll with cursed energy implanted on them making them alive. Example is Panda
Heavenly restriction is a pact made by the heaven for certain individual to not have one thing to get more powerful feat. Ex: Toji,Maki,Mechamaru
Reverse curse energy
The ability to manipulate curse energy into the opposite, this can be used to heal the user (Yuta) or others (So far only Shoko can do this), and the most important one is reverse the power of your technique in the case of Gojo is that his cursed technique is essentially absorbing space, and his reverse tech is able to repeal space.
Shikigami: Shadow beings ceated by the users technique. Shikigami came from the shadow.
Barrier is a protective layer made out of cursed energy
Veil is using cursed tech to mask Jujutsu activities
22:35 yeah you can tell he's absolutely likable, the way he taught gojo to be nice to other people and to use jujutsu for protecting the weaker ones. It would be so nice if he's still with us (on the protagonist side) and be the teacher at jujutsu tech, I'm sure he'd make a good teacher :(
These types of characters that can slash through your domain of comfort and put you into fight or flight mode are extremely rare but when done well you end up with someone like Toji.
The amount of screen presence this man has had since his introduction is insane. His design is simple, extremely so. Black hair, black shirt, black shoes & white pants like he's on a leisurely stroll.
The only defining feature that stands out is his scar. Yet when he's on the screen you feel this sense of unease. Very effective character design.
They were so evil for playing the outro song as Riko was saying she wanted more time with everybody, really thought it was one of those where that's the outro rather than cutting to the normal one, similar to what Demon Slayer has done a few times where it just fades to credits

You can't deny that Toji is THAT guy because we never have seen Gojo like that! I love Toji very much because he gets the job done and all that without cursed energy! The lesson is no matter how gifted you are you can't get cocky because it will bite you in the ass.
I like Toji and he has his own cool edgy aura but this lesson you said actually can be applied to Toji too, if you know what will be happened later to Toji. Just because Gojo was blessed with limitless and Six Eye, doesn't mean his life was always easy, I like he has his own struggle on his journey. It is not only Gojo who's arrogant, some other characters too in JJK.

I have watched a few reactors and no one has brought up the spirit around Toji's neck is the same one that Geto uses to hold things. In the movie he uses it to get Yuta's student card and the segmented staff.
Regarding the "MVP of the episode", yeah I agree that it's Toji. His presence in this one carried the whole episode, for me.
Toji was able to stab Gojo the first time because Gojo turned off his cursed technique the moment they were in the barrier

The only other people with Heavenly Restriction so far are Maki (very similar to Toji, only difference being maki has some CE, the same as any normal person, while Toji has none) and Mechamaru who’s restriction gave him a CT and CE, but at a very heavy price.

Someone who has healing ability is Shoko, the attractive doctor who inspected Yuji's body aka the girl with short brown hair in this timeline. Shoko is known as the one who can use Reversed Cursed Technique (a technique that can heal, like Yuta in JJK 0), eventho it's different from sukuna RCT. I won't tell the details because it may lead to spoiler.
Also the reason why Toji can stab Satoru because satoru turned off his infinity, if you rewatch, you can see the detail when Satoru eyes glowing then stop glowing when he turned off his infinity. he was nonstop using his technique and haven't slept for 3 days to protect riko :( the man needs a break.
I’m happy I remembered Shoko can heal but she must be really good if she’s the one who brought Gojo from the brink. Our boy is pretty much dead. Satoru life support arc. 😭

You aren't wrong. What happened with Toji here is the start of Geto's fall to villainy later on. Toji kicking Gojo's ass so hard is also partially why he is far nicer when he is older compared to how arrogant he was as a kid.
There is more that happens with Geto but yeah, this is where it starts with Geto's fall to the point you see in Jujitsu 0.
You know, with how the pacing of the plot goes, I'm kinda scared now specially that after a few episodes is "Shibuya arc." I thought this season's gonna have a cool vibe/relax plot sort of thing plus my friend is a manga reader and she told that since Nanami ia my fave character, he'a gonna have lots of screen time in this arc..

Since you are familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist already. The way I understand heavenly pacts is similar to equivalent exchange. Since Toji and Maki don't have cursed energy, they were gifted with extraordinary physical prowess instead. In Mechamaru's case, since he was born without arms and legs and would burn in the sunlight, he got gifted with immense cursed energy instead. If you're going to start Hunter X Hunter someday, there will be plenty of these "equivalent exchange" kinda stuff too. JJK was heavily inspired by HxH after all.
It's kind of the same as revealing your technique to your enemy will actually make it more effective, but it you're putting the risk of your enemy knowing how to counter it.
This is why i enjoy watching your reactions so much, the theorizing was great.
While everyone has a crush on Satoru, Suguru had my heart, he's so genuinely good.
I was dying to see this episode, but I'm also dying to watch the next two and have you react to them. I know you'll lose it on both for two completely different reasons.
Also, in case no one mentioned this, watch Satoru's eyes, whenever he doesn't have his technique active they dull down, if he has it active they are the bluest eyes to ever blue.

7:06 Present Gojo is able to have infinity activated 24/7 even when he sleeps, but we are watching Gojo's past, when he wasn't able to do so. When they reached Tengen's barrier he deactivated his infinity and moments later he was attacked by Toji with a normal weapon to secure the attack. When the battle begins, Gojo activates infinity again but Toji attack him with the cursed tool "Inverted spear of heaven" wich has the ability of forced release of cursed techniques, cancelling gojo's infinity. (Something similar to the weapon Miguel uses against Gojo in JJK 0)

Geto was truly an angel, so sweet and with such a good heart and I don't care he became a villain, he is still my fav character. I know what coused his change and I think it is reasonable but he deserved so much better :(
just imagine him as a teacher, together with Gojo they would be the best teachers ever and also would still be the strongest duo. Geto could absorb any special grade cursed spirit defeated by Gojo. They would be unbeatable.
