    Read-Me: Audio sounds terrible, my foggy covid brain forgot to check the audio and phantom power was off and I can't reshoot since I have to stay away from the team so I hope you can forgive me on this one. Also, It looks like the Dolby Vision footage gets mapped to HLG when you airdrop it over from your phone to your Mac. I'm guessing once FCX is updated to support it (which should be soon) then we should be able to do everything in dolby vision. The Dolby Vision footage looks great on the iPhone other than the few things I mentioned in the video and definitely takes advantage of the nice OLED displays. Hopefully the footage doesn't look too bad here on UA-cam, and yes the sky really was insane. This was during sunrise and I've never seen such a colorful sky in the morning.

    Please could you provide us with some sample video files straight out of the camera. I really want to run some tests on the footage, better understand the HLG thing that Apple has done. Also Davinci Resolve has supported Dolby Vision workflow even without a licence since 2018, It doesn't allow you to do trimming (without license) that's it.

    Yeaahh recently, UA-camr Vincent Teoh from HDTVTest did a comparison to Hollywood's Sony BVM-X300 ($35,000) professional reference mastering monitor. The color accuracy/performance of the iphone 12pro was almost identical to the former according to his tests. That is quite impressive. It will only get better, unlike the fact that Samsung promoted their note 10+, s20 and note 20 with a similar format to Dolby Vision's (HDR10+). I've been waiting for over a year, after contacting Samsung tech support, to be able to edit and merge multiple HDR10+ videos and I still can't do it. This is because Samsung said back then that HDR10+" is currently under LABS", and that they where working on it. That's BS no solutions in over 1 year? I'm glad apple is using Dolby Vison and I hope Samsung learns from them. For me, time to switch after using Android since it first came out. For me, Samsung doesn't give a crap about tech savvy peole like me, and another reason for my switch.

    Since the release of a 24p option on iPhones, video captured at that mode looks always choppy as in it seems like the phone is still recording in 30 or 60p and just converted to 24p resulting to frame skips. Can anyone confirm this?

    • @NuwandaSM
      @NuwandaSM 3 роки тому

      Nope it is mostly due to very low shutter speed in natural light, it is called 180 degree rule of shutter speed, you can Google it

    • @milo_van
      @milo_van 3 роки тому

      @@NuwandaSM I know that the shutter speed should at least be 1/48 to have the best effect, which can’t be controlled on the iPhone’s native camera, but this is apparent on all lighting conditions.
      The noticeable frame skip I’m referring to gives you that jerky movement at fixed frame intervals, and not the one that you are referring to which will make the playback jerky in general.
