Well remember listening to this game on the radio. The Derby of 1975 played the game at such a heightened tempo compared to the Derby of today. Confidence on the ball, possibly. The surroundings helped, of course. There never was a better stadium than the old BBG.

I was at this match as a 13-year-old and I don't think I've ever seen the televised highlights, so thanks for posting. It's great to see this match again.
I believe that had he scored that penalty, Frannie would have had the fastest hat-trick in Europe at that time (assuming the same sequence of events would have followed of course). IIRC that was also his third consecutive penalty miss!!!.

Terrific goalkeeping display by Vencel. One year later some of the Slovan team were Euro champions!

Derby were a prolific force in early '70s in Europe. If only Cloughie stayed wth us.

If only they hadn’t pissed off Dave McKay!

@@SteveInskip I'm a spurs fan and still don't understand why we let Mackay go.

Clough would never have stayed at Derby. He wasn’t settled at that time, he had too much ambition. The Clough that Forest got wasn’t the same Clough that was at Derby & Leeds. Have a read of Peter Taylor’s book!

@@SteveInskip I was fortunate to have seen him play for us, the game doesn't have these characters anymore, he was a leader of men.

@@TheGlassman63 Thanks I loved Derby as a kid started when Mackay went there, although I only got to go to the baseball ground a few times. The players I remember were Durban John Robson Ron Webster, Hector O Hare, Hinton McGovern of course Willy Carlin, so many more over the years, But somehow I don't remember Bourne, But Thanks
