Untouched Headwaters - Dry Fly Fishing Sooty Grunter In The Remote Australian Jungle

Sooty Grunter are one of the most prolific and aggressive fish in Northern Australia. Many people target them with lures, but sight fishing dry flies to these fish can be just as exciting as world class trout fishing.
This was one of the most memorable freshwater fly fishing trips I've had in North Queensland. Finding untouched headwaters for this kind of fishing is what drives us to explore and is key to experience the best fly fishing a stream has to offer. Join Chris and I as we embark on a 10km overnight hike into an untouched section of river, North of Innisfail in the Far North Queensland jungle.
