Easy Crochet Texture Throw Pattern | EASY | The Crochet Crowd

- The Crochet Texture Throw is a very easy texture-based throw using Red Heart Fiesta. Currently, Red Heart Fiesta is no longer made but you can use Red Heart Super Saver or even Caron One Pound.
Two trebles are placed into the row and the third treble creates the texture by encasing the first two trebles inside the stitch. This is shown in the tutorial.

Haha!! Mikey, I love it when you skip! I also love it when you giggle! Do more of both PLEASE 😘
More to come! :) hehe. PEople get annoyed when I laugh or giggle, so I don't inject them into videos to give people less to complain about.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Ridiculous! You're giggling makes me giggle everytime!!! A happy crochet teacher is a great crochet teacher!💗
I have learned so much from you thank you so so much.
You're welcome.
This pattern was fun to work with. I made a throw in burnt orange and also used the pattern to make a table runner . Thanks for the video tutorial!
I love this pattern, but I'm making it for somebody who may give it a little harder use so I made a slight adjustment to the sequence. After the starting chain I did DC row, then TC row, then DC row then Cross row, then DC, then TC then DC for a seven row pattern that makes the edges a little tighter (starting cross row in a little further). I'm very happy with it, and wish I could post a picture of it. I never would have been able to experiment without a great start with your video!!!
UA-cam is only a conversational thread. I love how you improvised this for your own purposes. Using the pattern as a backdrop but doing it your way. That's creativity.
Very nice and simple pattern..I will give it a try. Thank you.
You are welcome 😊
great instructions and what a fun project. thank you
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this video. I have a friend who loved this pattern and I'm glad I came across this. I'm working on her blanket now and it's so simple and easy. Thank you again.
One of my first blankets you taught me. Just love it and recommend to all new crochet fans. Thanks Mikey xx
What colour did you end up doing. yours in?
I used a yarn cake and it was perfect. Three different colours...pink mushroom and grey, cream....🥰🥰
I made 4 of these Afghans. Thank you!
Love this stitch. I am getting use to your instructions. Thank you 🙏
Wonderful!
I would like to see you do this stitch and show us how to change colors as we go. Thank you for sharing this beautiful pattern with all of us. God loves you. God bless.
What a beautiful pattern. I will have to fo this one for sure 🤗 Thank you for sharing 🥰🙏🏻
You’re welcome 😊
I made this blanket years ago. It was very easy and came out beautiful!
Excellent. Have a great weekend.
I'm making a textured afghan and I'm going to use this as one of my textured stitches Thank you Mikey I love it ❤️❤️
I'm happy to help.
It's good to know that the professional mess up sometimes as well. 😊 Love these educational video.
I made a blanket with this pattern love love love it I used caron simply soft lenonade color
Love the texture in this afghan... love your tutorials, thank you :)
Love, love, love this crossover stitch😇. Yes, the stitch shows the crossover on both sides, whereas doing it the other way shows only the crossover on one side. Many, many thanks!!!
On my second throw! Beautiful design.
Hi Jewel, are you able to advise how many 100g balls of medium weight yarn this uses please?
A friend of mine gave me a tub of Red Heart Fiesta, when she was downsizing. Wasn't sure what I'd do with it. Now I have the perfect pattern! Thank you Mikey!
Is the fiesta the color or the brand of red heart
@@donnariley1250 it's the brand, but I believe its discontinued.
Love this looks hard but it's not. Can't wait to make one. Thank you
I love this. Will make a great gift for Christmas
Beautiful! On my crochet “to do” (long 🤣) list! Thank you!
Awesome what a Stunningly Beautiful Blanket! Thanks for sharing 💜💯✌
This is a interesting pattern, thinking I might try it making a scarf. Thanks Mikey.
I really like this pattern. Thank you for your well explained tutorial. I bought the yarn to start making this. I wanted to ask you for a video tutorial to make a shawl rectangular if possible, I am just starting crocheting and don't feel confident to make a triangle one .
Thank you! Much appreciated
We have rectangles but usually when they are rectangles, they are called Wraps. You can find several wraps on our channel in different yarns and stitches.

I just started on this and I love it. Using caron cakes in buttercream!
Love this pattern. Can't wait to start a project in this pattern.
thank you so much for this video! the written pattern made my head hurt but this makes so much more sense! t
You're so welcome!
Currently making this for my nephew. Such a great tutorial, well done and thank you 🙏🏻
Love it! Gonna add it to my list of things to make!!
very nice, thanks for sharing...
Just a beginner and devoted fan! Even I can do this, if I make notes, and slow you down so you sound drug affected! Thankyou..Jilly, Australia 🥰🥰😁
Oh, another “must do”! Thank you!!
Hi mikey
I love the picot.
LOVELY PATTERN, QUICK, ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR INSTRUCTIONS !! WHERE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND A SECOND COLOR BE ADDED INTO THE 3 ROW REPEAT ? I WAS THINKING I WOULD TRY THE COLOR CHANGE AT EACH TREBLE CROSS STITCH ROW, WITH A SECOND COLOR THROUGH THE PATTERN, USING 2 TONES COLOR.
Love this pattern. Can wait to make this one! Great tutorial. Thank you. ☺️
I made this a few years ago. For my oldest daughter she loves it.
How much yarn would u suggest buying for it?
@@jessicaross323 if memory serves 7 to 8 skeins of Caron soft yarn
The pattern says 5 skeins of red heart Fiesta. I just bought as i needed. I made it bigger than the suggested patrern
I really love this pattern. I just finished making it for a good friend that is moving away as a going away/house warming gift. I'm very happy with the result. Thank you so much for the tutorial. :)
Very nice thanks so much
Hey Mikey! I love Crochet Crowd and your tutorials. I am wanting to make this pattern in 3 color stripes, can you tell me how many skeins I would have to use?
I love this!!!
It is nice to see you do a Afghan and not baby stuff it seems every one else is doing baby blanket
Without further ado... 😊
You betcha!
Love me some Mikey!!
Very nice
Awesome!
If using a 5 bulky which crochet hook size would you recommend
Olá muita linda uau UAU ♥️
Could someone suggest to me the yardage needed too make this
Very keen to try this. I just have a question on the chain count. Video says multiples of 3 + 2. But the original pattern says start with 115 chains, which is not multiple of 3 + 2?
Oh man... Ummm... Maybe I have that wrong. Just stick to the original pattern as I may have screwed that up.
I recently suffered a stroke and do not have use of my left hand yet. I'm right hand dominant and unsure how to crochet w/o my left hand. Any ideas?
Hello Mikey, Thank you for the tutorial. I am going to try and make this blanket. It'll be my first one. Can you clarify Row 4. Per the written pattern it says " Row 4: Ch 3, skip first tr, dc in next tr and in each tr across
and in top of ch-4; turn. Rep Rows 2-4 19 more times, then rep Row 2 once more,
then rep Row 4 once. Fasten off." In video, you mentioned only to do Row 4 once more. How about Row 2? Thank you!
What does that mean: multiples of 3 plus 2. Is it multiples of 5? Or is it multiples of 3 and then just add 2 extra stitches to the chain end once I have the chain to the size I want? Thanks for your help.
It means 3+3+3+3+3 until you get the size you want and then add 2 to keep in balance.
@@nancylollopez4032 Thank you so much
May i ask how many meters or yards does this project entail if i follow the same size of 115 chains? I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the video and i may have missed it. Thanks.
If you go to the video description, the free pattern link is there and you can see those details to help you. :)
Caught it hot off the bench lol
Has anyone done this in multiple colors? Just curious to see what it looks like when it's not solid and how you guys 'broke up' your colorway. :)
that's a great question. See if anyone did that yet.
Hi Mikey. Been watching you for years learned a lot from you. I have a question that is not related to the video. How are you able to prevent the Tunisian Stitch from curling up at the ends
Only way is to use a border. I like the 2x2 Tunisian rib stitch. You can look online for the pattern.
Could you tell me how to modify numbers of chain to change length of this blanket?
I talked about the stitch multiples to change sizes in the tutorial. I hope that helps. Have a great night.
@@TheCrochetCrowd okay I am sorry because my English is not good enought apparently. Have a good dreams and thanks for your response. Best regards from Poland !
I'm quite new to crochet and I struggle to know how much wool to buy :( is there an easy way to calculate??
Hi Mikey,
Can you change the pattern so it's a row 2 row 3 repeat instead of a row 2, row 3 row 4 repeat?
Regards, Craig
Try it. See if it works. If it does. Sure. 😊
I’m new at this and I’m either using the wrong type of hook or the wrong size. My stitches are very wide, very loose and I can’t seem to get a nice chain once I start the second row by the time I get to the third it’s very loose. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any suggestions please
Hi Lisa, I know this comment is old and I’m certainly not an expert, but I think make sure your hook matches the suggested size on the back of your yarn wrapper. Other than that, it’s really just practice practice practice. Maybe try to make a small “doll or dog size” version until you’ve got consistent tension. I still have issues at times and rip it out and re-start. Best of Luck. Hang in there.
No encuentro el hilo utilizado según el patrón. Con cuál podría sustituirlo???
Busque hilo de peso medio n. ° 4. - Look for Medium #4 Weight Yarn.
Is a written pattern available, I don't understand graph patterns.
Yes, all of our videos have the pattern linked into the video description if you need it. That includes this one.
@@TheCrochetCrowd thank you
Quick question. I see the foundation should be a Ch in multiples of 3 plus 2 extra, but the instructions in the pattern start with Ch 115, which doesn't appear to fit this formula. What am I missing?
I was wondering the same thing. I'm think it should be multiple of 3 +4 (for each stitch at beginning and end of the twisted row and the two chains that count as a the first DC). I'm just starting, I'll let you know if it works.
Carla, did it work?
I followed the 3+2 and that works. Probably too late but for anyone else that works out
@@thinkpinkdh1 Thanks - I was going to start but also thrown by the 115
How many 4 ounce skeins do I need for a typical Afghan please?
Usually it's up to 10 balls for 7 oz's. I haven't used 4 oz skeins to know for sure.
@@TheCrochetCrowd
It’s looking like it’s going to take 9 altogether. I tend to second guess myself sometimes. Thank you. I love this pattern. I’m using Red Heart Aran Fleck and it is turning out just beautiful! Have an awesome day!
You as well Patricia! Enjoy what the day has to offer.
I am a complete beginner and am struggling to work out how many 100g balls I would need for the big afghan. Can anyone advise please? Medium weight, 97%cotton, thank you in advance
I was wondering the same, I need to know how much to buy.
@Casey Foot Hi Casey: I see you've been asking about quantity of yarn for this project and no one seems to be responding to you. I hate when people make tutorials and then do not answer questions. What I do is I ignore the grams on balls of yarn. If it calls for a #4 yarn I buy that size and then I just multiply the yardage. For example..... this pattern calls for 5 balls of Red Heart Fiesta which has 316 yards in it. I am doing this pattern as we speak and am using Red Heart With Love Metallic which has only 200 yards in it. So I multiplied the 5 x 316 = 1580 yards then I divided that by 200 yards and got 7.9 balls. So I got 9 balls of yarn instead of the 8 I should of bought. I like to get a ball or two extra just in case. Hopes this helps.
@@lindadaley7469 thank you! To be honest, I lost the will with this bugger so didn't bother, for the very reason you mention. But I shall use your method in future. Thanks again and I hope yours turns out well. Stick a photo on when you're done 😊
