The first inhabitants of this area of the Adriatic were the "Piceni" people, as evidenced by the rich archaeological finds found in the necropolis.
The "Siculi" people, mentioned by Pliny the Elder as the founders of Numana, must be understood as the ancient prehistoric population, which before settling in Sicily lived along the Italian peninsula.
The city soon became one of the most important Greek emporiums in the Adriatic, which had its moments of splendor in the 6th and 5th centuries BC, i.e. before...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Liebe Dagmar, ohh.... Piemont und die Weine dort sind umwerfend. Es ist eine Region, die ich leider wenig kenne und noch nicht viel besucht habe ... aber ... aber .... mit der Zeit hoffe ich mehr.
Numana und alle Conero waren wunderschön ... ausgezeichnete Erinnerungen an diese Tage dort ... die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug und es scheint wirklich 2-3 Monate her zu sein und es war im September. Ich werde bald auch Sirolo bei Numana zeigen, es war absolut atemberaubend!

Oi Ric, tudo bom? Adorei esse lugar, mesmo com turistas chegando tudo continua tranquilo e sem agitação. Achei as casas lindas e todos os lugares muitíssimo bem cuidados. You are really good at drone flying Riccardo, have you ever crashed?
Ciao Avery, hah actully it happened once with an older drone I had years ago and the suffering was so intense that from that day on I try to fly a little higher and less close to buildings) It can happen though... it's a small drone this one I use but it's quite excellent in its videos and photos, always quite impressed. Love flying drones since years now (2016!)
Salve a te Riccardo, ho letto nei commenti che farei vedere un altro posto nelle vicinanze, visto è considerato che sono del luogo credo proprio che il prossimo paese, si chiami Sirolo, con il suo bel vedere panoramico, e a mio parere personale, molto più interessante di Numana, oltre che per il suddetto Belvedere anche per i suoi Vicoli,, un saluto. e spero tanto che anche nei prossimi mesi tu possa tornare a visitare la mia regione.

Mi sto organizzando per tornare Luigi, ma ho ancora video girati l'estate scorsa delle bellissime Marche che spero di poter finire di editare (la ricerca storica nei sottotitoli è quello che mi prende molto tempo).. Torre di Palme... Montecassiano...piano piano riuscirò a caricarli.

This town gives me the vibe of the kind of place you could go to completely start over/disappear, yet live a comfortable life. Like, instead of going to some crappy place in the hearts of Central America, Africa or Asia with limited facilities, you could become completely incognito in Numana, no one would ever look for you, yet you'd live like a king. Sorry for me overactive imagination...
And that Ypsilon at 6:21... I had one EXACTLY like that in Cortina. I would've much rather have the car next to it (ha!), but it was cheap and fuel efficient. Not very appropriate for the steep roads, though. Ah, the memories!

Dear Hugo, Indeed, Numana is stunning as all the Conero area... wait when you'll see Sirolo.... stunning areas there... memories of last summer. The Panda and Ypsilon.... you can find almost anywhere in every little or big town of Italy - I always wonder when the new Panda will show up actually - nippy cars, and the 4x4 as we know of course.

I can't believe this town is in central Italy. But of course it's a coastal town on the Adriatic coast. I see that it has a big beach, very unusual for a town on the Adriatic coast. Beaches there are usually full of rocks. I wish you went down to the beach. You must have been tired, it's a big town. A lot of viewers like to see the beach up close. We can never have enough of Italy, beautiful towns everywhere. Superb town. Thanks for this walk, Riccardo.
In truth, the largest beaches in Italy are right in the Adriatic, generally they are sandy and without rocks, at least up to the Marches, and Numana is not a big city at all, but a small, beautiful village!
Dear Esther, always glad to read you enjoyed it. Indeed, Numana (and Sirolo nearby) are stunning.. as all the "Conero" area. One always doesn't think about the Adriatic coast this way, but always something like Rimini, also very beautiful but a little ... "flat". As Stefano said in the Marche the beaches are very beautiful and sandy in that part. Beautiful village indeed... "superb" as you wrote sums it up also. Memories of last summer... @@stefRish Thanks for your feedback. I'm in the US, what do I really know about Italian towns in the Adriatic coast. I saw a few beaches there full of rocks and I assumed they were all like that.
