Refinishing A Grand Banks Cabin Sole with Lust Varnish

- Onne van der Wal is fixing up an older Grand Banks. He's refinishing the parquet floors in the cabin - also knows as the "sole" of the boat. Using TotalStrip paint and finish remover, Onne easily removes years of varnish on the wooden floor. He then sands and seals the floor using TotalBoat Wood Sealer which is thin and is a great first coat. In order to get a silky finish on the floor, and not a slippery glossy coating - Onne applies unthinned varnish coats using Lust Gloss finish. After a few coats he switches to the Lust Matte finish, which dries to a nice satiny matte sheen that is ideal for floors and interior varnished woods. Check out Onne's amazing photography and videography on his website www.vanderwal.com and on his UA-cam channel @Onnevanderwal

Glad it was helpful!! Thank you!!
Just gorgeous. “Lust” is a perfect name.
Good products and a huge helping of elbow grease made a beautiful cabin sole.
Beautiful job, you made it look so easy that I’m going to tackle that job soon.
Thanks for watching!! We couldn't agree more!
Well done. The matte looks great and convinced me to go that route too.

Regarding the statement in the video description, how does the matte finish keep the deck from being slippery?
Beautiful work. I have a 1987 Albin 36 in need of some work. Now that it has been a couple years are you still satisfied with the Total Boat products you used?
@Onnevanderwal what says you?
