Thanks for the session. I started at 65 when I got close to retirement. This is the only time I manage to find time after bringing up my family. I hade the passion since I was a child and never had the opportunity to excessive. I was a self learner never prefer to go to teacher. I managed to learn learn things on my own. I was a self learner from my childhood. Willing to take challenges . UA-cam was my tutor. I had patients , time , passion to achieve my goals. I been playing for neatly 10 years. My current project is to learn Vivaldi’s Four seasons. I will learn only the ‘ Summer, ‘If there is a will there is a way’
Ooooh you've inspired me to do a tutorial on Vivaldi's Summer now. Been super busy with my band Worldly Savages recently but I'll get on the case soon. Thanks for your comment and good luck on your violin journey. Congratulations for teaching yourself on UA-cam, that's inspiring!
I’m in my 50’s and have learned quite a few instruments in my time. I’m currently exploring music from the 1920’s on my vintage Martin ukuleles. Eventually I want to start exploring the violin. It truly is a beautiful instrument! I grew up before the internet and UA-cam were a thing and have to say that there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t appreciate it’s wonderful content creators like you. Not only do you give us knowledge for the taking but you and many other talented musicians give us a sense of community and belonging. Thank you and keep up the great work Coach!
I also started as an adult. Paradoxically I prefer to have started late in life (certainly as a child it was better) because I am more aware and I play with passion and desire to make improvements. And improvements in an adult are extraordinary and out of the ordinary! Maybe if I started as a child now I would get bored and put the violin aside
