I feel like the beginning of the intro is so cool because nothing at this scale ever happened before, the island falling, the egg carrier, the city being destroyed. This was the first big sonic game and it felt like all the stakes were high.

For my money, this is the BEST video game intro I've ever seen! They just don't make them like this anymore. I never get tired of watching this or hearing the song.
I don't know if i'm overthinking it a little, but this opening also feels really symbolical, even when Big appears (considering he is a hated character), not joking. it's like the intro is saying to us ''Everyone is important in this game, everyone is here to tell you their story, no matter who you are, you're still part of something to tell''. even when you think carefully, the main theme is called ''Open Your Heart'', we see from the beginning how Chaos is trying to destroy everything, then, when Sonic starts to run, it's like ''I will save the city, i will not let anyone down'' because he feels the obligation to do something about it at the end.
The hype with this game was too real back then, I loved SADX and SA2B SO MUCH. Im 24 years old and Im still wondering if Sega will ever give us the legendary SA3... -cries forever- the Sonic Adventures meant serious business plotwise, and I love them for that.
This intro gives me chills as it was my first sonic game.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate that you put the title screen in after the intro. You get so used to expecting it that it just doesn't seem like a proper nostalgia trip without it.
So cheesy now, but this intro completely melted my 7 year old brain the first time I saw it!

This is hands down. My Favorite Sonic Intro! Mixing my favorite sonic song (Open Your Heart) along side all the stuff going on and seeing the 6 playable characters and eggman just gives me goosebumps!

I grew up with this, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Unleashed
the sonic 3 movie intro should be this and the sa2 intro combined and show some of the events that happen in that game too

I can't tell you how much fun I had with this game. like when I beat the entire story and saw the question mark I was like .u. that wasn't there.
