I am honestly worried of how Sonic 3 the movie will be since it'll be based on the Project Shadow Ark, which comes from this game. This is one of the darkest, if not, the darkest ark in the series, and shit hits the fan in this final part of the ark. My question is, is that are they gonna have the balls to go full throttle with it like this game did, or they gonna pull back on it? I guess we'll see but I remember getting terrified in this part of the ark as a kid. From the appearance of Eggmans grandfather, the intense and dreading music, especially during the diary scene, even Geralds voice constantly shifting tones, and the death of Maria. It absolutely terrified me. I even had nightmares about it. Project Shadow is a huge staple in the Sonic franchise and I hope they don't ruin it or people will flip.

@@zacharykenniston748 Yup. In a sense he's even more of a tragic character than Shadow. At least Shadow had Maria as a true friend that taught him what it means to feel compassion and friendship. The Biolizard was just a tool of Gerald right up until the very end. The least depressing motivation I personally could give him, is that he was upset that he was discarded as a prototype, and just wanted to prove his usefulness to Gerald; that he could enact his final plan, and - in a sense - outdo Shadow, as well as defeating him in battle. Instead, he dies, fulfilling the wishes of someone who considered him a total failure, not even worthy of mention in his death sentence speech to mankind. Nobody remembers him, or mourns the fact he's gone. Just a big stupid lizard that died serving his role. A thankless task, and all because he (presumably) didn't want to be considered a failed experiment with no worth. YES, I am absolutely overthinking this, but you can quite easily interpret the Biolizard as a very, very tragic, sad character. His theme tune rather echoes this sentiment though, imo, at the very least.
@@GuyDude-hk8uyfinally someone who gets it… and actually the biolizard was brainwashed by Gerald. Both shadow and biolizard were created to bring hope to humanity. @@zacharykenniston748 Ah, I haven't seen Sonic X so I didn't know that. Thanks dude. That interpretation is just as sad, in the sense that he genuinely thinks he's doing the right thing similarly to how Shadow did (except Shadow's was revenge based rather than about ending suffering). Biolizard never had anyone he was close to that could give him a greater understanding to break free of Gerald's control, like Shadow with Maria. Very tragic character.

Sonic: Sayanora, Shadow.... the Hedgehog.
Me: Yeah, goodbye, Shadow. You will be missed....
Shadow my love hero
And that's how Amy saved us all.
But no one cared to listen to her story.
As annoying as she is, she's kind. So she's alright, especially after this game
Right. Screw the Chaos Emeralds.. Amy was the REAL ultimate power here.
SA1 Amy gave feelings to a machine.
Amy was the whole reason Shadow learned the truth, gotta give her some credit😅

here after watching the movie and i just have to say the movie executed this storyline very well ngl
You know you have a good Sonic game/story. When a friggen MOVIE IS BEING MADE OF IT.
Why can't there be a Sonic Adventure 3????
Sonic adventure 3 is actually a movie adaptation
There's already one, it's called Sonic The Hedgehog (2006), but I think it's better if we ignore it...
Outstanding work from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle saves the day!
PARAMOUNT COOKED
as a kid, this was way too hard
26:08 - Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie brought me here.
Who else got this recommended after watching Sonic 3
A lot of people don't know but this was supposed to be the last Sonic game since Sega was losing the console war. That's why they put so much dedication and energy into making this incredible game. Little did they know at the time that Sega would live on as a third party software company
It will be fine. The 3rd movie is gonna be the last one anyway. Might as well go out with a bang.
@@MacUser2-il2cx that's what they all say
shadow the hedgehog is darker btw
@@waff64 Sonic doesn't have a red streak on his head either. But i like the theory that they mistake Sonic for Shadow because Sonic can change forms when he goes Super or Hyper.
Tho I’ve been a fan for so long, I never really knew much about this and finally watched this game. Now I know to see what it could be
Shadow handling the Biolizard solo is still cold this many years later
Thank you paramount for allowing us to relieve our childhoods 😂😢

*_"Get out, you ugly prototype!"_*
17:52 i knew i wasn't tripping, this part of the ost has hints of "Lost World(After the rising water puzzle)" from Sonic Adventure. Especially that sfx.
Paramount actually matched the aura
This game's story is literally a horror story.
Yes and the biolizard is the tragic victim
Only half of it
@@zacharykenniston748 Yup.
Biolizard thought he was giving hope to humanity by ending their suffering. If you watch sonic x Gerald literally admits he’s controlling Biolizards mind…

Well I finally saw the movie today. Yes, it technically is in the movie. But not enough of it IMO.
When you think about it, this all started because of a failed attempt at a mutant Kaiju.
We all know why we are here
I hope we get an Adventure 2 remastered someday.
My sister had to do the Knuckles part with no breathing upgrade. She also did all the levels with the 4 lives it gives you. 😭
The music here is way more superior.
I happy shadow is alive my favorite. And favorite sonic both too
The tails and knuckles part always kicked my ass
I'm currently playing through this and I agree - except it's Knuckles and Sonic that are kicking my ass the most. Tails was just me accidentally falling that kept killing me, with Sonic it seems like my attacks aren't being aimed right and I get killed first. Knuckles, I can't stop drowning.
@@asterkilgore For the Knuckles' segment you should get the air necklace in Aquatic Mine. It makes you breath under water. It's a big help in the last story

SA2 just aged badly but you know which is the most overrated Sonic game Sonic frontiers is the most overrated Sonic game and if you criticize it they call you a hater sorry but I don’t find fun running around in a generic world with random platforms popping up
Probably because 90% of sonic adventure 2 is the the non-sonic levels
