POE2 feels like a more fun version of Ruthless, it's not a 1:1 but it feels like an improvement to me. Ruthless felt more like just gimping how overbloated poe1 was, addressing the problem it had without a well polished solution.
Thanks for your thought I will say disagree ruthless is in my opinion the absolute peak of arpgs right now. I love hope it is used as an example for future games
Just noting something here, gear between the two games is vastly different, in fact it's so different that getting a couple +3 maces for something like totems or phys skills is a non issue below level 20. The currency is in a weird state since they want you to make your own gear, so it makes sense that you get a good amount. (I think the campaign even has fixed drops as of last patch?) I find very interesting how the ``x is harder than y´´ varies so much per player. I personally find PoE 2 way harder than Ruthless. Getting your ascendancies can be a pain, mid to late mapping is a one-shot fest if you slack just a little bit, you can't overlevel your gems if you get stuck and characters being slower makes the deeper you get into the game more and more hard.
during the campaign in poe2 I have never felt so geared in my life (comparing to ruthless of course). I always had at the very least a good weapon and was constantly crafting items. don't get me wrong I LOVE THIS its super fun and fits the game well but it is significantly easier compared to ruthless where we are lucky to transmute or weaponsmith our main hand. here I was exalting gear in act 1. I feel what you are saying though my main point is ruthless is just undeniably more scares (gems, currency, gear) however there is also no denying lab on poe2 is immeasurably harder than poe1, in poe1 its free you can do it even on horrible builds easily.
@@Wallsh Oh yeah, in Ruthless you definitely can get into scary spots but you have more player agency. If anything goes terribly wrong you can easily fix it in a variety of ways that currently are very restrictive on PoE 2, one example being the lack of life nodes on the skill tree. Characters being able to be geared seems to be by design, at the very least in Early Access (And let's be real, gear matters a whole lot more in PoE 2 than 1. In 1 it's important, but you can run over the campaign with virtually nothing). For example with your point on super easy respeccing, I doubt this is going to be how the game will be by the time they launch 1.0. Right now the game is unfinished and if we go by the speed they are nerfing things out of playability (Rightfully so) it would leave a bad image if players couldn't remake their characters in a timely manner after investing dozens of hours in some sort of beta that is meant to explore skill combinations. As of right now more people will enter Endgame and the true flaws of the game will be free for everyone to witness, but we have to remember that this is maybe like 40% of the end product and comparing it to an already stablished game like PoE is a bit silly.
@@Wallsh Even in regular PoE 1, in PoE 2 you can get more gear upgrades and craft more gear while going through the campaign. Though perhaps in PoE 1, it is somewhat less necessary in order to progress. Can get some great items from vendors too.
I played ruthless as my first choice both in hardcore and standard. Still think drops are less than ruthless however currency is better and gem availability is obviously better. Could probably still boost crafting currency drops as the game is geared around crafting bases.
if anything I think they need to tone down the currency but at the same time I don't really feel that. I just want ruthless mode for poe2 lol I don't want everyone to be forced to play ruthless in poe2
I think most people understand it's not exactly like Ruthless, what we feel is that it's TOO "ruthless" for an ARPG. Certain aspects are far too punishing. Dying and losing a map feels absolutely horrible, especially during a time where they keep nerfing entire build genres and they havent gotten monster power tuned properly.
No one wants to actually grind for their gear so anytime GGG nerfs or makes the game harder it’s always the same statement: “ruthless won’t affect the main game right?” I will say that depending on what you rolled at league start the Poe 2 campaign can be a nightmare. Warrior for example was rough to get through.
I myself had way more fun in the ruthless PL than in poe2. I'm constantly starting the game and stop playing to not be bored to death in the acts in poe2. No idea why, but it feels like such a slog. I already feel the burnout. 😮💨
sorry to hear that but I honestly get that, I will say I am having a hard time motivating myself to map but I am having fun. have you tried rolling another build/skill?
@@Wallsh I don't think rerolling would help me, because I have to go through the acts anyway. I should have never judged the poe1 campaign, because of 2, I do have to say that it is way more fun. The game is just not for me, atleast for now.. Played for like 25 hours between two characters and I think that's enough atm. I appreciate it though. And I also appreciate your thoughts, there have been tons of people (mostly streamers) that I watched that say "Oh it's the best game ever, 10/10" while also looking like they're at the brink of crying and being totally unhappy with themselves. Cheers buddy.
@@Aelias9it's crying addicted and it's fun if you got better gear its not hard the gear part are bug they have say in interviews the campaign should drop more currency if not enough currency that's mean they screw why they say this it's mean in early access means the drop have a problem maybe bug but now they have changed to improve is so better than before..
It might not be explicitly ruthless difficulty, but it 100% was modeled after ruthless, and i think if it had a ruthless difficulty and a easier non-ruthless difficulty it would be much better, i understand some people like ruthless, but a lot less people played ruthless so i dont understand why they would model PoE 2 after ruthless ideology
ya Idk why people want/think that. sure I would love a ruthless mode but making base poe2 ruthless like would probably be a terrible idea for the game. I have always said the best thing about poe as a whole is everyone can play how they want and making ruthless base kit would defy that to the extreme.
People wanting easy mode is what's wrong with gaming nowadays and poe 2 is not even hard. People just heard their favorite streamer complain about the game or a reddit post and went through with that opinion and looked at the game thru that lens
@@itsBluffer Or PoE 1 players simply want a chill game to blast maps and looking at the annoyance a lot of people see for the campaign it is a lot less enticing to rerun the campaign multiple times a year from fresh, modeling it after a difficulty very few people play hardly makes sense unless your an elitist that doesn't think casual players should have fun
I was waiting exactly for that "Elitist " people are lazy don't read their gems or gear and throw themselves at the boss and biitch that the game is hard...you gonna call me Elitist bc I took the game slow and overfarm a bit to not have a difficult time? is not elitism, and the game can be chill if you yeah "YOU" take your time with your gear and open your eyes a bit I took me 28 hrs to finish the campaign and died 72 times to me fcking up mechanics or fighting mobs I didn't know what they do. On my second character, everything is easy bc I now know what enemies do and can avoid it...if learning is Elitist then sorry for learning 😂
@@itsBluffer I understand you learned, but that still doesn't feel as simple, easy, and casual as i think the game should/could be for either bad or casual gamers, but sorry if i kinda jumped you for the elitist comment ive had way too many people immediately jump my shit calling me bad or terrible at the game for thinking it was too hard for casual gamers
I feel like this sentiment mostly comes from having to spend more time in white and yellow maps, in sc trade you can basically skip straight to red maps in a few hours at most and then fill out the atlas in red maps. Loot in early white and yellow maps in poe1 is also horrendous but nobody notices, T15 loot in poe2 feels mostly fine, my biggest complaint after having ground out a headhunter is honestly the abundance of useless low level waystones and the lack of a useful gold sink. Often have to use a portal to stash a pile of „tiered“ items on decent bases mid map bc my inventory ends up full.
@Sorry, phrased that poorly. The sentiment im referring to is the „Poe2 is ruthless“-sentiment, feels like people are comparing early white/yellow maps in poe2 to at the very least alc-and-go T16s in poe1.
I'm still working my way through Cruel Act 3 so my comments are based on that. I think POE2 is good it its own way, but to a POE1 non-ruthless player it would definitely feel more ruthless-like. Why: Limited movement skills, no crafting bench, rare drops are actually rare (you don't get 10s or 100s? per map like in POE1 end game juicing). I think that's why people say it's "ruthless", and I wouldn't blame them even if it's not entirely accurate. I would say it's "ruthless but with gems and more currency", and as you mention, a "really hard lab"! :)
I would say its more bench league with scarcity than ruthless but I do appreciate your perspective thank you for takin the time to say it. That is not an angle I was thinking about
Could you maybe react to the krip video from a few days ago, since that seemed to put something off on people who now say PoE 2 is trash and is ruthless with extra grafic
I appreciate you asking but no. I feel like directly replying to a video like that just feels like going after someone. The best way for me to express how I feel about it is a video like this comparing them directly to show how it makes no sense
I understand it's called ruthless because the elements that control the flow of time are scaled harshly. I love the game, but certain abilities on day 3 were not attainable, however it will get better.
Worth mentioning that the loot argument is only valid pre buff, so it would be required to inquire if these currency shown here is pre or after buff. The rest of the game i think the statement is correct
Never played ruthless myself, don't really have the time for the grind, so I just do SSF but from your videos and my own bench league SSF experience there is no way ppl can call PoE2 ruthless...
Can’t say what some else said. It I would ask this- If you watch my video and see all the comparisons and examples I present do you think I am wrong? If so why
PoE 2 feels like a clunkier, more convoluted, less deterministic version of Grim Dawn to me. I physically feel like I'm playing Grim Dawn when I play PoE 2, but when I look at gear and the tree and Atlas it has that PoE convolution we all love. I also don't mind Souls games, Grim Dawn has a dodge roll also (which is superior to PoE 2's btw). So the dodge roll and running around gigantic F U maps slow af looking for chests with no movement skills doesn't bother me, but I'm not actually super impressed with PoE 2 because of that experience, I think that's my problem. It's impressive as a sequel to PoE 1, but I don't think it's impressive as an ARPG. Grim Dawn and PoE 1 had a baby is what it feels like to me. Let's just say I'm not exactly staying awake leveling my character in PoE 2, but I don't have any complaints either. /shrug
I feel like they intentionally made the uniques weak, having a bunch of broken op uniques off rip and then them having to nerf all of them wouldn’t be too fun to deal with, I mean look at how people reacted to them nerfing the current builds, I can see them slowly giving them power later on
@@Wallsh it's at least 4 months away imho. They said to maybe expect delays. We're in 7 month league territory right now. Necro settlers is dead, but that's actually kinda making it fun because you see the same names in chat all the time. Actually kinda small and comfy right now.
Your POE1 uber ruthless gear would be a dream for 99% of POE2 players. +29 to all attributes +89 life amulet would be like 150ex alone. You can't even get all res on a ring.
lol it's so dumb to compare 2 items from each game 1 to 1, when they are balanced very differently and work differently. Obviously 29 attribute are vastly more valueable in PoE 2. That's why it's much harder to get lol Attributes are at minimum 2-3 times stronger in PoE 2. Are you trying make a point or just making a random comment.
@@Wallsh the way it plays feels more like ruthless than anything in base poe, not including the actual mechanics behind everything, just the general feel. I want to add that im generally a more ruthless enjoyer, i think base PoE falls apart in the late stages.
@@BasegFarmer what makes you think that, would like to hear your perspective. for me the problem is the loot is insanely abundant. currency, maps, gems, gear are all infinite even in ssf which for me is the absolute polar opposite of ruthless
@@Wallsh the overall pacing is much closer to ruthless than base poe. Its got nothing to do with mechanics etc. Not sure if you watched Kripparians video, but he thinks the same, it just feels like ruthless +, like PoE 1 ruthless was a testing ground for PoE 2. Honestly it would be kinda interesting to hear your response to kripparians video, hopefully it wouldnt cause drama tho ;P
For me there is one big difference. Ruthless is fun. PoE 2 is not. I got to maps in PoE 2 but I'm not enjoying the game. In ruthless I even enjoyed playing acts. Something is off about PoE 2. It is difficult in a boring way, while ruthless is difficult in an exciting way. Dropping something in ruthless actually makes me happy and I can feel actual progression.
@@Wallsh POE is heavily designed around trade, unless you play certain builds, in my opinion POE1 SSF is much harder. This league we got the recombinator which made things slightly easier, but still, unless you have a solid plan in SSF, you will struggle, and you are limited to few builds if you want to clear all content.
Thing is similar to another thing. People compare two things. Someone points out the similarity is not 100%. Yeah, that's how similarity works, otherwise it would be the same thing. I don't really get the point of the video other than, I guess, stick it to other people who made videos? *akshually*
PoE 2 far more difficult at every point up to the extreme endgame in PoE 1. PoE 1’s campaign though maps is quite easy with how much power and freedom you to make a really strong build. The bosses basically don’t do anything either.
@ I think you might be taking the comparisons to Ruthless a bit too 1:1. It’s not identical to Ruthless but it’s undeniably close in mechanics. Scarce ground loot, slow movement, can’t freely buy skill gems from vendors, limited vanilla crafting. The reason why some builds are broken is because PoE 2 is broken and in an extremely unbalanced state. As soon as GGG does their next round of nerfs, you’ll see far less overpowered builds.
@@MikeyJ28 but you can infinitely get gems they are everywhere in ruthless it takes months and months to get close to the amount of gems. Also you get tons of rares especially in maps even more so now that they buffed loot. Feels way closer to bench than ruthless to me. Again though I don’t think poe2 base game should be ruthless anyway.
@Wallsh life sprig has only one base type, and with the way wands work, item level determines the implicit skill granted which in turn dictates the level requirement. It can drop at level 2 and be usable at level 2, but if it drops at a high level, it will only be usable at that level. It's different for items that don't grant implicit skills.
I was actually playing my ruthless chars instead of poe2 yesterday lol. Poe2 is fun and by next year it’s probably gonna be great. But it ain’t no ssfr that’s for sure 🙂
@ Yea it’s just kinda empty, well aware it’s early access but it just doesn’t feel like poe in terms of systems choices and progression. Leveling up isn’t really exciting either cuz the skill tree is anemic af. It’s weird, it’s like they did all the things poe is missing with polish and graphics etc, but then forgot to re-establish all the amazing things poe does with its systems and progression etc. it’s like a better last epoch/Diablo but at the same time a worse and emptier poe. Give me the jank and lack of QoL with all the depth over the polished shiny empty hollow shell any day
Well, it does feel weird because PoE 1 is overflowing with types of content. You have so many options, and you are super familiar with how it all works. It's also nicely streamlined by now. It makes PoE 2 feel barren in comparison. But I also think people haven't even properly engaged with what's there. Partly because some of it can be hard, or it takes a while to be able to do it, it's more late game. There are some nice stuff in PoE 2 compared to 1 though. In terms of character/gear progression. I am actually enjoying SSF in it. Unlike PoE 1. (for now) The passive tree does feel a bit meh, weak. But also seems like there are interesting nodes here and there, and maybe we haven't understood how to use it really effectively yet. But yeah, PoE 2 is missing more than half of its content. 3 acts, 6 classes, most weapon types and skills, ascendancies. Other end game systems. By the time it comes out of beta/early access, it probably will have more content in some respects even compared to PoE 1. In terms of class, ascendancy and gear at least. Doubt it in terms of end game. That will take longer I am guessing.
It's crazy the amount of people comparing PoE 2 to Ruthless. I truly believe none of them have actually spent any significant time in Ruthless. The only thing similar is the mapping system and the atlas. In order to sustain higher tier maps, it is a similar strategy to Ruthless. Even then, I get tons of waystones every map.
People says it is ruthless, because you can get oneshooted every moment, some skill are totally usless, the game is slughish, slow pace and WAY more dificult than poe1 overall. So your only point of comparison is RUTHLESS, obviously is'nt ruthless. But it is a "better / inspired" Ruthless version of poe1. The game is overhyped, i am pretty sure this game will have less players than Poe1 :)
@jorgeleite9811 I am honestly waiting until full game release and seasons to start rolling out to really judge it. The first season is gonna be insane I bet. PoE 1 season will be out in a couple months, so people are gonna be playing PoE2 and other games soon anyway.
Im not playing PoE 2, as a casual player in poe 1 i cant be bothered less than i am right now. PoE 2 as it stands right now is still in beta (Or "Early access", fancy words which they using nowadays) and this raw game will change multiple and multiple times before it will be released as medium rare dish (Main reason why im skipping being a subject in this beta test). Builds will be nerfed, exploits fixed, visuals fixed and game balance ruined (fixed if you will). I already saw from pop out vid on youtube page that they buffed loot, somehow after few days or something (Probably because softies(noobs) were bishing around and yelling out loud). PoE 2 is destined to be giga casual player friendly due to new wave of players that barely play few hours a day to suck up more money from such players, its business, nothing personal (I understand). Ruthless will be added in the future, maybe in the "near" future, since powercreep might as well happen faster than in first game.
ya I was very sad they knee jerk buffed loot after like day...3? or 4? not sure but way to fast. At that point I already had 20~ exalts and was very confused edit- I do hope we get a ruthless mode but I do not think it should be base
We used to hoard our orbs for 1 big roll off, now we use them as soon as we get them. And the rolls are are seeming like they using ai cause i keep getting rhe correct rolls like 4 times in a row ita not a coincidence its catering to your build currently it seems so people should be getting to strong builds imo. They just need to start using the orbs and quit hoarding them like poe1.
I think people are stuck in the thought that POE2 can only be POE1 or Ruthless, so the slower gameplay, power coming from gear and less loot means it's ruthless. It seems like a really cheap way to complain about the game. Once you get to T8+ waystones, uoi'll be porting out multiple times a map to identify rares
in the couple weeks leading up to poe2 i played ~100 hours of ruthless, up to 3 void stones and a mavens writt (didnt do maven cause im shit at the fight and was certain i couldnt do it) now, im no ruthless expert, but that 100 hours was WAY more fun than this hot dog shit mess of a game theyre pushing. not to mention currency doesnt really get you any where in poe 2 because every "craft" is just a 3 click gamble. full transparency, i might be biased because i dropped a determination on my literal first delve node xD
@@Wallsh oh i know. i mean it was fun even from the first hour but everything actually felt like an accomplishment, and i could target my progression. Man i can't wait till they give us a new poe 1 league. honestly thats the thing that upsets me the most about all this. they just chucked poe1 to the side for a whole ass year for this...
@@Wallsh eh, it's just bad. People complained in PoE1 about having to color gear, but now you have to buy a 100ex perfect jewelers for every skill you want to six link.... that's just one issue out of like 500 why the game is bad.
My main, Take magnesium byglicinate, zinc, D3, K2, Lions mane and turkey tail. People that are always sick are d3 and magnesium deficient. Turkey tail is amazing for infection control, k2 allows for better d3 absorption.
Some things were modeled in ruthless for sure ... lack of zoom zoom, gold (was first prototyped in ruthless but everyone seems to forget that), more skill based play, etc. I'm all for it. PoE2 has been a blast.
nah I was there for ruthless gold it was insanely op definitely not saying poe2 is unfun but its not ruthless just don't understand the comparison. poe2 has infinite currency, loot, maps and gems by comparison which are the defining features of ruthless.
Ruthless was trying to slow down gameplay because that's what PoE had been more like before all the power creep, and also to be more like Diablo. PoE 2 is slowing down gameplay to introduce more mechanical depth and challenge, not to play like early PoE or even Diablo apart from being slower than current PoE 1. The similarities are indeed pretty shallow.
SC trade player here with 4k hours. PoE 2 isn't ruthless but it is harder than soft core. It's fun and avoids cheesy builds like no life hexblast than can just overflow the market with boss drops, or builds that just avoid all content by zooming to the next heist cache. I had difficulty mid campaign but we all need to learn ropes. And once you do you can still compete it sub 10 hours as some of the streams I follow did suboptimally. I'm sorry to all the fubgun wanna be bow users but it's time to build defenses or drown. I'm in reds atm and it feels very similar to my SC poe 1 experience, slightly toned down. My actual biggest worry is that endgame feels **too** similar to poe 1 yellows to the point that two years from now only experienced poe players would be able to tell them apart if we ignore the graphics
I 100% agree with you. It is definitely way more difficult than traditional poe1 even ssf. I always want to say that I really like the game but I am losing my steam. The endgame is the same kind of problem for me it kind of just feels exactly the same. I don't feel myself moving from white tier to yellow tier to red tier and I am kind of burning out. Again though the game is really fun and maybe my feelings will change but I was kind of hoping the mapping would be more drastically different
Most of the ruthless comments came from day1/2 blasters or people running through acts and getting horrible loot luck due to low item quant and gold shenanigans turning rares into gold. These comments were before the loot buffs.
It's so much better than PoE 1, but I definitely feel bad for PoE 1 players. I would probably be fine with then making it easier. Just make act 2 as hard is act 1 now, and continue that up.
compared to ruthless I would say poe2 is already a lot easier. game is awesome and fun but not even close to the realm of ruthless difficulty/limitations
first time for sure but you always have to think its our first time ever doing it. I would say when people first doe ruthless campaign (even if not brand new to arpgs) its pretty brutal lmao
@ second play through on the bosses is a lot easier when you know mechanics but I’m finding white mobs slow. There seems to be a huge dps difference between skills and every fight is a war of attrition. It’s EA so that will get fine tuned. To your point though there is definitely more loot than ruthless
Dude, when I saw Krip's review saying it was Ruthless, it legitimately made me angry. I've played Ruthless, and obviously Krip has been too, so he should know how little similarities they have. Now every single player that watched his video and hasn't played Ruthless will think that they are being forced to play Ruthless... It's not even close. Just to name a few differences as I'm watching your video: - You choose your gems in POE2 - Blink is a literal teleport over walls/rivers and can be socketed with CDR/Charges - You get a full inventory of rares in every map in POE2, which are higher tiers in higher tier maps (guaranteeing higher tier stats), I WISH that was me in Ruthless - I get like 1~4ex every single map in POE2 and I've sold many rings/belts for 30~50ex, literally giving me near infinite currency in today's market; you literally pick up scraps in Ruthless. If you're in POE2 trade, that's a stupid amount of currency. My brain hurts seeing everyone call it Ruthless. BTW you can type /kills to see your kills in POE2 vs. POE. Edit: you talked about gems, thank f*cking god. How the heck people are calling POE2 Ruthless and not addressing this is absolutely insane.
I haven’t watched anything just seen people posting and talking about it and even some people I know (granted those people don’t play ruthless) It’s very disingenuous to call it ruthless idk why it keeps happening lmao Also yes yes yes!!! 100% I agree the tier drop thing is awesome I love it
My brain hurts when i see you dimwits not understanding how comparisons work and think that if something isn't 1 to 1 exactly then the comparison has no merit. Also your cherry-picked experience in POE2 doesn't mean anything, when you start mapping you don't get any currency until you're lucky if you see 1ex in 10 maps and usually you leave with 1-2 rares.
It shouldn´t even be anywhere close to ruthless... ruthless is such a unpopular addition to poe 1, literally nobody except some 0.1% of the player base even tried it once. It´s such a weird decision of GGG to go with the ruthless balancing route over being more like regular poe 1 with better boss fights, gear progression and more intuitive game/mechanic design.
that is the thing it is nowhere near ruthless (not that I am saying it should be). trying to compare poe2 to ruthless is just inaccurate since poe2 has such insane abundance of loot/currency/maps/gems let alone everything else
@@Wallsh I had that feeling too (that it is scarcer) until I watch this video and you proved with facts. I think the reason I thought otherwise was my memory was mired by so many league content that un-ruthlessed ruthless (affliction, necropolis, etc.). im not here to attack people personally. all I can do is speak from my own experience. That does not make me automatically right or infallible but my opinion comes from a lot of experience.
People have been saying it since Ruthless was announced for PoE 1. It's been a meme for years. Ruthless was seen as their test bed for what a slower PoE would look like. The comparison is only natural, and in some ways accurate.

@@seanackley7210 honestly awesome point.
Ya playing weak stuff in poe2 can be brutal for campaign lol
@@Aelias9 I 100% understand its been a little frustrating how it is just unacceptable to point out any flaws in it lol
Doesnt dodge roll scale with movement speed? That's what I thought anyway.
insane if true its already crazy
It does
I feel like this sentiment mostly comes from having to spend more time in white and yellow maps, in sc trade you can basically skip straight to red maps in a few hours at most and then fill out the atlas in red maps. Loot in early white and yellow maps in poe1 is also horrendous but nobody notices, T15 loot in poe2 feels mostly fine, my biggest complaint after having ground out a headhunter is honestly the abundance of useless low level waystones and the lack of a useful gold sink. Often have to use a portal to stash a pile of „tiered“ items on decent bases mid map bc my inventory ends up full.
do you mean what I am saying or the general people calling poe2 ruthless?
@Sorry, phrased that poorly. The sentiment im referring to is the „Poe2 is ruthless“-sentiment, feels like people are comparing early white/yellow maps in poe2 to at the very least alc-and-go T16s in poe1.
@@stnikolauswagne9874 gotcha! ya I agree
That is not an angle I was thinking about
There will be crafting bench eventually, this is damn early access, we will have a lot of updates in those 6 months or more.
Could you maybe react to the krip video from a few days ago, since that seemed to put something off on people who now say PoE 2 is trash and is ruthless with extra grafic
I appreciate you asking but no. I feel like directly replying to a video like that just feels like going after someone.
The best way for me to express how I feel about it is a video like this comparing them directly to show how it makes no sense
i want ruthless in poe2 =_=
@@forthegod would be amazing
Part of why I’m having a hard time playing a lot is the huge abundance of stuff. Still having fun though games great
I understand it's called ruthless because the elements that control the flow of time are scaled harshly. I love the game, but certain abilities on day 3 were not attainable, however it will get better.
Absolutely. I have faith in ggg
I think the adjective ruthless was used and not the game mode.
Seems a bit of a stretch but fair response
Worth mentioning that the loot argument is only valid pre buff, so it would be required to inquire if these currency shown here is pre or after buff.
The rest of the game i think the statement is correct
Even pre buff the loot was op. Now it’s even more so
Never played ruthless myself, don't really have the time for the grind, so I just do SSF but from your videos and my own bench league SSF experience there is no way ppl can call PoE2 ruthless...
It’s very confusing not sure where it comes from
I don't know mate, even Kripparian compared it to Ruthless... So, surely there's some validity to the comparison.
Can’t say what some else said. It I would ask this-
If you watch my video and see all the comparisons and examples I present do you think I am wrong?
/shrug
Never played grim dawn so its cool to here a perspective from that angle, thanks for sharing it
Grim Dawn? You need to be mentally handicapped to compare PoE 2 to this mid ass game
I feel like they intentionally made the uniques weak, having a bunch of broken op uniques off rip and then them having to nerf all of them wouldn’t be too fun to deal with, I mean look at how people reacted to them nerfing the current builds, I can see them slowly giving them power later on
Ya maybe I can see that
Whatever the hell poo2 is, I hate it. I'm back int poe1 blasting maps and having fun again.
lmao hey fair enough
I am definitely slowing down a lot but I am still having fun...can't wait for the next ruthless league though! :P

Getting insane gear is very easy on poe2
lol it's so dumb to compare 2 items from each game 1 to 1, when they are balanced very differently and work differently.
Obviously 29 attribute are vastly more valueable in PoE 2. That's why it's much harder to get lol Attributes are at minimum 2-3 times stronger in PoE 2.
Are you trying make a point or just making a random comment.
IDK, not getting anything dropped in POE2...maybe cos I'm not playing it?
Lmao doesn’t count
you cant play meta characters on poe2 because they just gonna get nerfed
LMAO fair point the ultimate boss fight is the Devs for poe2
i have played ruthless and PoE 2 feels much more like ruthless than base PoE 1, so it makes sense why ppl say its ruthless
its closer to poe1 normal ssf than ruthless
I get that absolutely!
I’m just having a hard time enjoying mapping it just feel empty atm with infinite currency
POE2 is easier than regular poe ssf....
Think so? Not disagreeing just curious why you say that
@@Wallsh POE is heavily designed around trade, unless you play certain builds, in my opinion POE1 SSF is much harder.
*akshually*
no
PoE 2 far more difficult at every point up to the extreme endgame in PoE 1.
PoE 1’s campaign though maps is quite easy with how much power and freedom you to make a really strong build. The bosses basically don’t do anything either.
in bench league absolutely 100% you can pick anything and delete it.
ruthless? completely untrue.
Since the game stops at act 3, pretty much all the uniques are stuck on base types up to Act 3.
Lifesprig is lv66 lol and it’s awful
@Wallsh life sprig has only one base type, and with the way wands work, item level determines the implicit skill granted which in turn dictates the level requirement. It can drop at level 2 and be usable at level 2, but if it drops at a high level, it will only be usable at that level. It's different for items that don't grant implicit skills.
I was actually playing my ruthless chars instead of poe2 yesterday lol. Poe2 is fun and by next year it’s probably gonna be great. But it ain’t no ssfr that’s for sure 🙂
Ya I’m having a hard time continuing the grind but I’m still having fun!
(for now)
The passive tree does feel a bit meh, weak.
Yep exactly not sure why it keeps being said
People says it is ruthless, because you can get oneshooted every moment, some skill are totally usless, the game is slughish, slow pace and WAY more dificult than poe1 overall.
@@dumbyfiddler2376 I mean, there is so much change needed.
But lets see what future gonna give us :)
At that point I already had 20~ exalts and was very confused
edit- I do hope we get a ruthless mode but I do not think it should be base

I am scared to try it because I am afraid I will love it lmao
@@Wallsh haha.. I paired with my dusty G600. Night and day. Like you said, they probably won't add Ruthless in POE2, but if they did, I go crazzzy! ;)
I have the same feeling
Every time I slam a weapon it gives what I need mostly
I think people are stuck in the thought that POE2 can only be POE1 or Ruthless, so the slower gameplay, power coming from gear and less loot means it's ruthless.
It seems like a really cheap way to complain about the game. Once you get to T8+ waystones, uoi'll be porting out multiple times a map to identify rares
Ya definitely feels like a generalization for sure
also the poe2 is ruthless thing is more of a joke people are saying but they are quite similar
nah I have seen people hardcore arguing for it lol
Also yooo wtf I'm running cloak on my warbringer in red maps. Stop calling it shit tier 😤

The only hard thing imo is the lab/trial and i believe it's bc is overtunned besides that game is aight.

in the couple weeks leading up to poe2 i played ~100 hours of ruthless, up to 3 void stones and a mavens writt (didnt do maven cause im shit at the fight and was certain i couldnt do it)
now, im no ruthless expert, but that 100 hours was WAY more fun than this hot dog shit mess of a game theyre pushing.
not to mention currency doesnt really get you any where in poe 2 because every "craft" is just a 3 click gamble.

poe2 has infinite currency, loot, maps and gems by comparison which are the defining features of ruthless.
@@Wallsh I'm not disagreeing dude. I am saying "modeled on" not "the same". I agree PoE2 is easy mode compared to legit PoE1 ruthless.

Again though the game is really fun and maybe my feelings will change but I was kind of hoping the mapping would be more drastically different

first time for sure but you always have to think its our first time ever doing it.
Just to name a few differences as I'm watching your video:
- You choose your gems in POE2
- Blink is a literal teleport over walls/rivers and can be socketed with CDR/Charges
- You get a full inventory of rares in every map in POE2, which are higher tiers in higher tier maps (guaranteeing higher tier stats), I WISH that was me in Ruthless
- I get like 1~4ex every single map in POE2 and I've sold many rings/belts for 30~50ex, literally giving me near infinite currency in today's market; you literally pick up scraps in Ruthless.
I haven’t watched anything just seen people posting and talking about it and even some people I know (granted those people don’t play ruthless)
It’s very disingenuous to call it ruthless idk why it keeps happening lmao
Also yes yes yes!!! 100% I agree the tier drop thing is awesome I love it
My brain hurts when i see you dimwits not understanding how comparisons work and think that if something isn't 1 to 1 exactly then the comparison has no merit. Also your cherry-picked experience in POE2 doesn't mean anything, when you start mapping you don't get any currency until you're lucky if you see 1ex in 10 maps and usually you leave with 1-2 rares.
poe addicts when faced with a differing opinion:
@Wallsh But it's more ruthless than it is regular poe 1. That's why ppl are even bringing it up.
@@Bellonii that is not what I have seen, people have mostly been saying its ruthless or some even saying its more scarce than ruthless.
@@Wallsh I had that feeling too (that it is scarcer) until I watch this video and you proved with facts. But Kripp says it's a lot of like ruthless and I would say he knows what he's talking about, way more than you probably.
im not here to attack people personally.
all I can do is speak from my own experience. I have played ruthless every league since it started and I think there are very few people out there that have made as many characters in ruthless ssf as me (granted not many people play it).
That does not make me automatically right or infallible but my opinion comes from a lot of experience.
People heard one dude (Kripparian) compare this game to Ruthless and now everyone is repeating it like bunch of morons
I have been hearing it since day 1, no idea when that person said what they said but if they said it at the start that makes sense.
People have been saying it since Ruthless was announced for PoE 1. It's been a meme for years. Ruthless was seen as their test bed for what a slower PoE would look like. The comparison is only natural, and in some ways accurate.
these videos are always hilarious to me because it just shows what happens to the brain of people addicted to video games lmao. this dude saw kripp's video, got triggered, and tried to make a rebuttal that maybe 5k people will ever watch and won't at all remember. it's not that serious little dude.
I never saw anyone's video so I cannot tell you what that person said. there is nothing wrong with talking about stuff.
