- The Russian operatic and chamber singer Leonid Mikhailovich Kharitonov (bass baritone) performs the Russian folk song "Here's the Postal Troika Rushing" accompanied by the Osipov Orchestra of the Russian Folk Instruments, the conductor is Nikolay Kalinin.
This is the clip from the musical TV-show of the artist "Russian Song, Romance, Waltz", the Central Television of the USSR, 1987.
Short description of the song:
Winter. The mail troika is rushing along the frozen Volga river. The coachman, a young guy is humming some sad tune shaking his head. Then a friendly passenger asked him , why he looked so sad. And the coachman tells him his life story. He told him that he had been fallen in love for already a year. But the village headman, the infidel Tatar, scolded him all the time about it. Very soon Christmastide would come and his beloved should marry another man, rich and hateful one... And that she would never see again those beautiful days they had... The coachman told the story, stopped his troika and gave a deep sorrowful sigh...

I love German culture and music, but your army songs often sound like circus music lol.
@@zacharyledford2785I must say as a German that you are right. Nowadays Germans do not dare to show emotion in topics like army, war, nation etc. Maybe they never did in army songs, because during WWI and up to WWII they sounded victorious and often harsh.
But you must have heard German soldiers sing when they were not forced to sing - there is a proverb about singing . LIEBEN UND SINGEN LÄSST SICH NICHT ZWINGEN.
When the battles were over and they went to rest they sang: "Teure Heimat nach dir geht mein Sehnen" or the songs they had learned in church and in the wide spread men's choirs (Männergesangsvereine).
The majority of German "Lieder" and well-known choirs derive from Protestant composers like Bach using the texts of writers who had gone through the misery of the great religious war 1618-1648. Paul Gerhardt stands for this tradition. People were fed up with war and they had learned to be patient and peaceful.
But then, when young people went out into nature in the 1920s, singing "Volkslieder", the nazis took up their readiness for community and singing in batallions, stressing the brutal and aggressive tone.
Have a look into books about German "reeducation" and you will find that much has been done by the English speaking allies to make people say "LOL" about Geman soldiers. Do you know that Germany was not allowed to have an anthem of its own after 1945? But they needed one, having founded the republics in West and East. They were not allowed to sing "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles", but they were allowed to play the tune and since 1952 to sing the third stanza.
The canon "Lobet und preiset ihr Völker den Herrn, freuet euch seiner und dienet ihm gern" shows how nations and people could be in peace by respecting each others culture by praising God.
Last but not least should be mentioned that the standard choir of the German army "Bundeswehr" starts with "Ich bete an die Macht der Liebe, die sich in Jesu offenbart." The music was composed by the Russian Bortnjanski. I would have loved to hear this song by Leonid Kharitonov or Viktor Nikitin.

I'm a bit late but it's real. I believe the odd look is AI interpolation, which creates new frames based on the adjacent ones and therefore increases the total framerate, making the video smoother but somewhat unnatural-looking at times.
