Music by unknown author, lyrics by D. Davydov.
The conductor is Nikolay Kalinin.
The concert of the Russian operatic singer Leonid Mikhailovich Kharitonov which was held at the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow on July 2, 1991. The Central Television of the USSR.

* Baikal - a large and deep lake in Siberia that is famous for its chrystal clear water.
* Omul fish - a type of fish endemic to Baikal.
* Bargouzeen - a type of strong Baikal wind.
* Akatui - a settlement in Baikal region where there was a most dreadful hard labor jail in Tsarist Russia.
* Shilka - a river in Baikal region and one of two rivers that give birth to large Amur river by their confluence (the second river is Argun); also a settlement under the same name.
* Nerchinsk - a town in Baikal region where silver mining industry was developed. The town was a place of exile and a hard labor jail.
* Makhorka - cheap backyard grown Russian tobacco surrogate.
* Caftan - a type of old Russian simple garment like a long shirt or robe, often with a girdle.

Навряд ли все понимают, какие у нас на самом деле расстояния и масштабы) Нерчинск - это 200км от Читы, а от Читы до Байкала 1000км. Герой песни прошёл их своими ногами, по тайге. Шла я раз по настоящей тайге без тропинки, километров 5 всего - буераки да бурелом, в жизни не пойду больше))

Una tía mía, tiple ligera, FA sobreagudo y coloratura (hay foto de cuando se examinó en Conservatorio Málaga con unos 14 años, nació 1925 y falleció 1986; y caricatura suya en mismo periódico malagueño "SUR") decía que cantaría en el cielo cuando muriera. Ее бабушка пела поэтому хорошо знаю. Пела надтреснутым фальцетом. Я ее теперь исполняю баритоном. Дыхалку надо конскую конечно чтоб эти целые с точкой все вытягивать. Пора возобновлять занятия спортом а то не хватает дыхалки 😂. Вообще бабушка ее пела более тягуче и рефреном повторяла последние две строки (хлебом кормили крестьянки меня парни снабжали махоркой (2 р)

These beautiful and so moving Kharitonov songs are heartbreaking. What a terrible year/time that was for beloved Russia...pillaged and raped by the lying west. To see that great theater, where so many fabled artists have performed, half-empty just adds to the sadness. Wonderful that glorious Russia has risen from the ashes to take her rightful place again.

не дай Бог на какой нибудь "казанке" встретится с Баргузином. помню мелкий был отец спас на катере семью которая перевернулась на Байкале. уже все... мать пошла на дно обнимая младенца. он успел схватить её за волосы и вытащил. спустя неделю на лодочной станции в катере он нашел ящик дорогущего коньяка и пачку денег. потом пришла грамота от ОСВОД прямо домой принесли в 11 часов вечера весь подъезд собрался. интересно что с ними потом стало где они что с ними...
Да, ветра на Байкале серьёзные.. Попадала два раза, один раз с дедом, на ангарке шли, единственный раз в жизни услышала, как он матерится) второй раз с мужем..
