Takes me back to childhood Saturday afternoons. Watching this on Grandstand, recreating the races with the old matchbox cars...including talc on the carpet for the dirt. Mum wasn’t best pleased!

I remember making courses out of mum's clothes pegs, if they'd all vanished, she knew where they were! Or if I was watching it with my Uncle Jim, there was the double excitement of the scores and his pools coupon.

I will never understand why rally cross never became popular in the United States.... it’s simply the most exciting wheel to wheel car racing. Period!

Looked like Welch hung back to make a run to from our view, the left hand side.
Unfortunately that’s exactly where the rear of Drummonds car was headed.
Just very unfortunate that where Welch slid off happened to have a huge dirt wall for him to spear into.
