Here in Virginia, we have a related store called Tom Leonard's. They sell Stew Leonard products and have a few animatronics, but not as many as this store does. I also highly recommend Jungle Jim's if you ever find yourself in the Cincinnati area. They have two HUGE locations and feel like this store blown up to about 20 times the size.
Oh no! This video reminded my memory of teenage (30 years ago) in US. And I'm so surprised that the vegetables song is still same!! I remember that I always sang this song at home🥹🥹
When I lived at home we'd stop here when we went to see movies in IMAX. It is...a hell of an experience. Like if the It's a Small World After All ride also sold groceries which can make trying to buy bananas slightly trying. It's also definitely a hidden gem of the central East coast.
I just noticed your Paramus video and commented there too. I got linked to this one right away. Lots of great memories shopping in Norwalk with my parents during the 80's and 90's as we took rides up 95 from the Bronx. Back then the mockup of the cartons and pasteurization you mentioned used to be active. They must do everything in a different location now as they have many locations now.
I like how this place is kind of set up like a farm and a factory at the same time like how you have the areas where people can go and they have a display with milk on the conveyor belts and a bunch of machines and stuff
Local resident here. Stew Leonard’s is not just a grocery store it’s a shopping experience. Like the guy in the video said, it’s more of a farmers market than a grocery store because, you can’t get everything that you would get from a grocery store. But you can’t beat Stew’s for dairy products and fresh fruits and vegetables. The bakery is great too, they have a large selection of freshly baked goods. In the summertime you can’t beat their fresh ice cream and milkshakes 😋😋😋😋.
Grew up in Norwalk, went to stews every single Friday with my mother and grandmother. Absolutely love Stew’s, but I really wish they would do away with that depressing petting zoo. It smells bad and they don’t even have the amazing water fountain where you stick your head in a lion’s mouth anymore.
The chiquita banana song still slaps even after a decade

I remember my mom bringing me here all the time as a kid and we’d just walk around and watch the animatronics.
Every grocery store should be like this! Great retro vibe going too. I'll be watching this a few more times because it's got a lot to see.
It's such a great place! Thanks for watching!
@@RayOutThere So much fun! You find the best places.
