I love the curtains. One of the great things about them is that they make such an impact that you don’t need much else to make the room feel finished. So taking back 90% of your stuff wasn’t so much about those items “not working” as it was the fact that the curtains did so much of the work on their own. They are great.
Awesome curtains breaking up the white! I almost wish I had them, but they might clash with my artwork!!😂😂😂 Seriously, my bedroom artwork is all family stuff - paintings my sister painted for me, portraits of my grandparents from 1923, and some needlepoint and cross-stitch from Grandma. Everything has a story and I love it.
Yes, in order to help your marriage and/or save you from another move, I volunteer to have my house virtually organized 🙂 And I personally LOVE those curtains! They're gorgeous, and in my very non-professional opinion, you've added just enough color with the vase, pillows and throw to not take away from either the curtains or the serenity of all the white.
Those curtains work because the rest of the room is simple and calm. Bonus, if you ever get tired of them they are easier to change than even paint and BAM! a whole new space. Looks great Cas. I am glad you returned the rug and picture - too abstract for the space. Well done! Looking forward to all your 2024 content. I would love some help!
YES to virtual makeovers! I love Alexandra Gater virtual makeover content, but I think I would extra love makeover content from someone who is extra conscious about clutter!
I love the curtains! I would have spray painted the picture frames gold to coordinate with the yellow in the curtains and brighten it up. I think the black is a little dark/heavy. But I love the bright feel of the curtains and pillows! 🎉
I think the pictures need some color, not much, maybe like a light watercolor effect. The black and white seems so sterile and doesn’t match the flow of those curtains.
Hi, Cas!!! I'm an Interior Designer, and I always say go with what YOU love!!! You are the one that lives with it, and if it makes you happy, your job is done! Happy Holidays!!! ♥️ 💚
I love the curtains - but, most importantly, YOU love them! That's the place to start with your decorating. The finished look is great, too, but I just want to add that I think it's okay to continue to tweak the room as you come across pillows, wall things or rugs that go with it. Don't feel pressured to declare it done right away. It's easy to make pillow covers for decorative pillows - or even pillowcases/shams for bed pillows, so you could continue to browse for fabric that goes with the curtains and make these (or ask a friend who sews, if you don't). My granddaughter and i recently redid our upstairs lounge and made pillow covers using an afghan - another source for fabric.
YES, TO VIRTUAL MAKEOVERS. If you could make this happen sooner than later that would be wonderful as it could keep me from having to do the 99% return of stuff too as I am trying to migrate my sewing lair from the basement into my upstairs office/dog snuggle room. I have even chosen a wallpaper that sings to my heart like the curtains did for you, but I yi yi - the words "we ain't got no room for this" keeps coming to mind! P.S. Even if you didn't get to help on my specific case seeing you do another multipurpose sewing room would be so helpful!
I love the curtains. They are cheerful and have enough colors that you can change out the pillows and other decor from time to time. If your husband doesn't like the pictures , you should honor his feelings. Unless you sleep by yourself. 😂 I like the idea of a triptych of simple sketches of a flower or of nature. More calming. Great job, and your speed in decorating is amazing! I'm inspired to try something new, too.
The curtains completely made the room perfect! Yes, virtual makeovers would be such a great idea! I watch your videos and listen to your podcasts daily, yet I still stare at my rooms with an overwhelming feeling of still not knowing what to do with them.
The whole time you were shopping I was thinking that if you didn’t love it, you shouldn’t buy it. I’m sorry you had to return so much but the bedroom looks beautiful! As for your idea, I would LOVE to see people putting your ideas to work! That would be super inspiring!! 😁👍🏻
Oh a big YES on virtual organisational makeovers! 🎉 You could do themed episodes ft. a few different homes that you’ve received pics of and give viewers ideas on what they can improve (for different rooms, challenging spaces, unique living situations) as well as longer form individual makeovers. Nick Lewis and Caroline Winkler do (nice!) “roasts” of subscribers homes for interior design tips, worth a look if you haven’t seen them already. And I bet you could still make heaps of great content of your new place with befores-and-afters and showing us what you did, even if the process itself wasn’t filmed.
I really love the curtains! Joe is correct about seeing yourself in Feng Shui- that’s why no mirrors in the bedroom. I do like the photos- maybe better on a family wall.
YES, PLEASE do the virtual sessions. Some of my favorite videos are when you worked with clients virtually during the pandemic and while you were filming.
I love the curtains. Maybe you can do a video on how to decorate a room just by making a few swaps. For example, switching curtains and pillows from spring/summer to fall/winter. And I love the virtual decorating idea. I have several rooms that need help. Sign me up!
Ooooh YES to Virtual Makeovers! I also love your bedroom makeover! It’s so beautiful and even though the curtains aren’t my style, you made your room pop with them, it looks beautiful! But who cares what I think, it’s so great to see how happy you are with your bedroom and how much you love it! 🥰
Cas: "Remember, its important to love your bedroom" Also Cas: "Joe hates the curtains and these photos, but they're staying" Sorry Joe, you're not allowed to love your bedroom 😂
@@sandramcinnis-fibreinsanityWell, that was the only thing about the video that didn't sit right with me. If Joe says he doesn't like something, but Cas does, he should have at least SOME say in the decor. If he cares enough to say something, that means he cares, and that should be respected.
😮 Sorry, Cas, but Umm...repaint the walls! They do look institutional, even once you finished. Joe doesn't like the curtains and they go with nothing in the stores because they are dated. Line art is modern, so doesn't go with the curtains. Yes, rug is too big and doesn't go with the curtains. You need a change to pull those curtains in with the rest. If you must keep the curtains, your best bet is to find a pleasing paint color to use on half the walls to pull it all together.
My feeling is if you are sharing a bedroom with your spouse you should compromise on the way it's decorated. I am a widow of 2 years now. We compromised on the decor of the bedroom. It was fine- patriotic. I like purple and floral so finally after almost 2,l years, I changed my bedroom to be MY bedroom. It didn't feel right to change it until now... it was too soon... but now I am really glad I did it
Show us the rooms in your house. Like a new home reveal. Or did you do that... like the bathroom(s)... your kids' rooms...I know you showed the living room and kitchen ... and they are awesome!
I love the curtains and they work great because the white room needed a good pop of color. The rest of your bedroom looks great too. I like the idea of virtual makeovers! 😊❤😊
I personally don’t need it but I always enjoy watching you help others declutter, organize and reset their homes. Btw - I like the curtains; your bedroom looks beautiful. 💝
I love the curtains! And if you do end up craving a little more color, I think painting the trim (in the middle of the wall) and/or installing new tiles on the mantle could be cool. P.s. if Joe really dislikes the pictures I think they should go
I like the photos better just because you can see them. The line drawings just blended in with the wall. Curtains are beautiful. The whole room is lovely.
I love how you left the raw opinions and how you changes your mind and kept that content in rather than showing just what you picked for the final showing.❤
I love the Adams family decor and definitely not a fan of the curtains but we are all different and if it makes you happy - rock it!!! You always do a great job pulling it all together even if the journey is crazy 🤪 Virtual makeovers and organizing I think would be amazing!!! Let’s do it!
The color in the rug is nice, it's the busy patterns you're adding to busy curtains. You don't have to be an exact match on colors - the throw was nice, it made the curtains pop.
Love the curtains..Replace the black frames with burnished, muted gold or bronze. Then the frames will blend better with the mustard/gold in the curtains.
Hi Cas! If you love the curtains, that's what counts in YOUR room. I love how it turned out. One idea about the photos that Joe doesn't like... since you asked, I actually think the line drawings would be better, BUT mat them with SOFTER hues of a color from the curtains. That way they wouldn't fade into the background or overwhelm the space. Looking forward to more ideas with Cass-i-ness! Laurie
Yes!! This is EXACTLY what I was thinking as well! I think the line drawings would really pop because they are simple and "round/bubbly" like the pattern on the curtains, the mirror, the vases, etc. I agree on the mats, too. Maybe the muted gray in the curtains! ❤❤
I can’t say that I like the line drawings at all or more than the photos. But I think Joe shouldn’t have to look at them, so find some abstract or landscape and definitely use color on the mats.
Yes!!!! Virtual Makeovers!!! And also- the bedroom turned out perfect- I love how the bedroom turned out- perfect!! love the teal/turqoise and mustard!! ANd the curtains are adorable! it came together so well!!
I’ve never been bold enough to use curtains with ANY pattern at all… but those curtains look fabulous in your newly redone bedroom!!! As far as virtual makeovers.. YES!!!! That would be awesome to see be done. I could use some help!!!
I love the idea of virtual organizing/makeovers that we send in to you! And I love your curtains! Don't listen to the naysayers. Enjoy your beautiful bedroom!
I think one of the reasons everything was fighting with the curtains is because everything you picked out was very modern and the curtains are a completely different style (I like them). I think there's a lot more forgiveness for color than styles when trying to put a room together.
Yes, anything French country would work with those curtains. Try cushions with ticking stripes in pink or turquoise, jute rugs, even a wicker chair. A nice landscape painting above the bed. You can opt for things with a more modern French country aesthetic if you don’t want to lean too “grandma”.
Perfect timing! Part of my Christmas Present to my bestie is to give her bedroom a make over so that it is a refuge and a place she and her husband can ... um, get closer in ;) She was telling me about different things are between them when they're on vacation at a hotel, so I want her to bring that vacation feeling into her own room.
I’m inspired, practically my whole house needs a makeover. I’ve been watching you for such a long time and recently watched some shorts about some books you read…it has really helped me in so many ways. Thanks for all your humor, joy and encouragement you share with all of us. I will love to see the virtual organization, cleaning out, and basically a new life free from stuff and being able to create that life with what we already have. This things inspire me, with little changes we can do BIG things! Thanks Cas! Denise from small town USA
We painted over our wallpaper because it was attached very well and we didn't want to damage the walls - which is what happened when we initially tried to remove it. Your curtains are very pretty, and they incorporate the teal color scheme from your previous house. The finished bedroom looks perfect! Sometime less IS more. We changed our bedding earlier this year and I just LOVE it! We went for a fresh modern look, but with a traditional flair, and it works really well.
I love your enthusiasm. I love the accessories. I think the only thing that doesn’t work is the curtains. But I love that you are you. I wouldnt change you for anything. Sweet dreams. ❤
Yes to virtual makeovers/organizing! I love your new bedroom - the little touches of color on your bed is perfect! I do love the curtains, too. I think the line drawings would look good as well. Happy Holidays!
I LOVE your channel, but I'm feeling a bit sorry for Joe that he doesn't get the 'Oasis' bedroom that he'd like. He was clear he didn't like the curtains, or the photos. "If you wake up everyday and you look at your space and you go 'Ah, this is beautiful', you're happier. Your mood is boosted, and that will continue on for the rest of the day." - Cass. Why not try to find something that you both could love? Doesn't Joe deserve an Oasis bedroom too?
Cas, your husband said he didn’t want pictures of himself over your bed. You should listen to that and find something you both like over the bed. Just my opinion but if either myself or my husband say no to something it’s a no for both of us.
I love the idea about sending in videos or photos of our spaces for you to do virtual makeover and make suggestions. I'm a cricket and my craft room has never ending reorganizing going on
I love the curtains too! Colourful and cute! The yellow pillows are great together with everything! I think the bedroom looks fab!!! ❤Good job!! (Maybe hang the photos in the living room instead and find one big painting for over the bed? Something pink/ yellow?)
Oh Cas 😬 those curtains are grandma curtains! Girl! You can do better! I've learnt so much the past 5 yrs in interior design. My husband is a graphic designer so he's given his two cents lol If you like that pattern so much put it in a huge frame for above the fireplace! It's just too busy on the curtains. The rug won't work with that floral print. But that rug is more modern. You say you want modern but there's nothing modern about those curtains 😂 If you look up modern you'll find neutral colours, calming colours or dark moody colours. Sorry girl! I agree with the rest of the house 😉 just try changing them out and put the rug in there, that rug just might be enough colour for you ❤️ trying to help you out ❤ but if you love those curtains than you do you boo! ❤
The minimal pops of color around the room are the perfect balance w/ the beautiful floral curtains...WELL-DONE, Cas!! 💛🩵🩷 Virtual Makeovers...another great idea!! 😘
I love the curtains! And you know what if you are the one who mostly cleans and keeps up the house than hell to everyone else…you get to make the decor calls!!
Oh Cass, I absolutely LOVE your curtains! I really do! I can't believe that I struggle the same way you do, trying to match or coordinate colors in a room. First I found a headboard that is tufted in a pretty gray. Then whet shopping with one daughter, she found a great bargain, in an outlet store. She found 4 panels of black/white Toile. Which I love. Then I found an old light weight ornate thingy to hang above the bed. It has shades of old goldish, yellowish shades in it to make it look old. Well I fell in love with that. Then I had no bedspread to match. I used to have purple, tan, etc. So I found online a reversible king size bohemian looking one in a dark yellow that I thought should match okay..... Finally I found that I had gold framed pictures of flowers, matted with the same yellow as the bedspread. So ah...I now love walking into our bedroom and saying ahhhh!
I love the curtains. One of the great things about them is that they make such an impact that you don’t need much else to make the room feel finished. So taking back 90% of your stuff wasn’t so much about those items “not working” as it was the fact that the curtains did so much of the work on their own. They are great.
I agree - and I think the larger floral pattern works well with all the white.
I love the colors! Yo did a great job finding a few key items to coordinate.
Awesome curtains breaking up the white! I almost wish I had them, but they might clash with my artwork!!😂😂😂
Seriously, my bedroom artwork is all family stuff - paintings my sister painted for me, portraits of my grandparents from 1923, and some needlepoint and cross-stitch from Grandma. Everything has a story and I love it.
I agree - well said. It takes time to collect beautiful art for your walls - don't rush it.
I agree, too!

My thoughts exactly!!! Love the curtains!!!❤
I definitely agree that the frames are too dark. But I'd paint them the teal colour rather than gold
I agree with both of you ladies. I was picturing swirls of teal and gold too.
I like that it isn't all teal and pink. I like seeing another color in your home. 😊 Your gold is good & the gold throw was fine. Good job, Cas!❤❤
I think the pictures need some color, not much, maybe like a light watercolor effect. The black and white seems so sterile and doesn’t match the flow of those curtains.

I agree with Joe. No portraits in the bedroom! 😂 having your own face (or any other face) looking at you from the picture at night is creepy.
Yes! Lol 😬
YES PLEASE!! Virtual makeovers would be fun to watch!
Cas, your husband said he didn’t want pictures of himself over your bed. You should listen to that and find something you both like over the bed. Just my opinion but if either myself or my husband say no to something it’s a no for both of us.
Yup! The curtains, pillows and throw do it. Thanks for the object lesson!
Um sorry the curtains are a no. They do look dated, but if you love them. I love them for you.❤️
I love the idea about sending in videos or photos of our spaces for you to do virtual makeover and make suggestions.
Yes to the virtual makeover!!!🙋♀️🙋♀️
I love the white paint! What is the name and color of the paint?? 🤍🤍🤍
I like the curtains. A nice bedroom makeover.
And, yes to virtual makeovers.
To be honest, I don’t like the curtains. I like the way it was before the makeover.
Me too.
YES to the virtual makeovers! That would be great fun. I actually love the curtains, I think they give a needed pop of color to the room.
Oh Cas 😬 those curtains are grandma curtains! Girl! You can do better! I've learnt so much the past 5 yrs in interior design. My husband is a graphic designer so he's given his two cents lol
If you like that pattern so much put it in a huge frame for above the fireplace! ❤
Yes Cas, I would love that. I decluttered my bedroom, and now she needs a makeover!
I'll be honest. I think those curtains are too old fashioned. The colours are OK but the print is too Jacobean. That said...not my room. :)
What is Jacobean? Maybe something I should Google lol
The minimal pops of color around the room are the perfect balance w/ the beautiful floral curtains...WELL-DONE, Cas!! 💛🩵🩷 Virtual Makeovers...another great idea!! 😘
I love the curtains ❤
YES to virtual makeovers! Thanks, Cas
The curtains are actually gorgeous Cas. Anyway, its your room so absolutely go for what you love.
I love grandma floral patterns...fresh, country cottage. :)
