I love that you kept the kid out of the video and protected their privacy!
Awesome Video!!!! Thrifting makes you a better decorator!!! Because you are decorating based on the feel & the emotion you desire for that room!!! It isn't a "copycat" of "at home" store!! Totally Original!!!!
Oh thank you! Much appreciated and thanks for following along 😊 You're right, thrift shopping does push you to use your imagination more than buying everything new and I really enjoy it!
Girl, everything is beautiful, love how you transformed the shades….but, that citrus tree is absolutely the bomb!
Thank you! It was so fun to make and I love how it turned out. Nice and airy :) Thanks for watching.
I love the hack of turning down the grommets and adding curtain ring clips to give a high end look. And the DIY tree looks better than the $400.00 Tree. The entire room makeover is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
You're too kind, thanks very much 😊
@@TashaatHome you're welcome. Blessings
You are so good at explaining and with visual instructions. Love your videos and calming voice.
Thank you so much!
I have to confess - I found your channel about a week ago and binged ALL the videos in the span of one week lol…and have been sitting patiently waiting for the next one 😄
I watch a few thrifting channels and yours stands out because you transform the pieces or incorporate them in a modern way, to fit your design style. Most others seem to lean into the pieces and end up with a cottage/traditional style. Those are wonderful styles, but I was having trouble getting personal inspiration for my own home - so glad to have found you! You have excellent taste in incorporating the beauty and quality of old world with contemporary.
Thank you so much for watching, so glad to have you here! You are too kind, I really appreciate that. Thrifting really pushes you to use your imagination and I think you end up with more of a blended style that I personally really love it. Thanks for watching! ☺️
@TashaatHome so true! I see that you like to get inspiration from current design sites, like McGee & Co..where else do you get inspiration from? What design elements are key for you? Maybe you could talk about that in a video?
Ps. Btw, checking out contemporary design stores is a genius idea, it never occurred to me!
I also love to peruse Amber Lewis's designs. She is inspiring because of the fearless "warmth" in her design. It's only been 5 years or so that I've been interested in learning about design and began to put any real thought into it. I dove in and learned a lot about different design styles--what comprised each and key elements to achieve different styles. The deeper I dug the more I knew that a transitional style was for me, so as you mentioned, I do absolutely love Shea McGee's design. For me, the design elements that speak to me the most and have helped me "get it together" design-wise are 1) Knowing my design style and working within it, rather than having a hodge podge, 2) a neutral /earthy palette (I think of myself as a color loving person so it wasn't until I found myself consistently being drawn to room designs that were neutral and earth toned that I realized that is the environment I wanted to live in) , 3) warm rather than cool tones, 4) an intentionality in what I display versus hide, and 5) leaning into vintage/antique items that compliment my style (not just vintage for vintage sake). For me it took a little research and sitting down to think about what kind of style and palette I wanted in my home. Funny enough I had never thought about that before so I was just buying this and that and I had some interesting things but there was no cohesion in my home. I am not trained in design, but I now aim for my home to be cohesive and calming, while interesting in the variety of items displayed within that palette. ❤️
I love all the natural textures in the room. If it were me, I would leave the nightstands in that beautiful wood color. It goes with the natural flows the room. Beautiful makeover, and great ideas! I’ll have to try the tree myself!😊
I’ve never been a big fan of bamboo curtains, but I loved how they looked after you put the second set of curtains in front of them. How nice 😊
Oh thank you!
Some great ideas, and using the curtain black-out liner on the bamboo blinds is especially clever!
Thanks so much! 😊
Tasha, first of all - I’m so happy to have found you. I just love your thrift store treasure hunting & the gift of transformation you are able to see past the “cheap or tacky” to make something beautiful❤ You are truly gifted! Loved the little stool. I’d never thought of the hammer 🤷♀️but that was such a cute little stool. The gel stain color you choose was perfect 👍
The citrus tree- OH my goodness! Awesome! Yours was way better than theirs!!! Now I can actually afford one 😂 The clips take the curtains to a whole new level. Truly look like high end linen curtains. Okay you absolutely blew me away with the blackout blinds 😮. I would have NEVER thought to even attempt to try something like that 😅! The Lamps 😍 are beautiful! The art you chose & frame is perfect & I love the ribbon👌❤
I love the bedding. Thanks for the education today & showing us the transformation! When you said “Roses” oh my goodness 😂 There is one still open in our home town in southern GA. When we go back to visit my in-laws again I am definitely going to go into town to see what’s it’s like. It’s been at least 30 yr’s.
Oh also the nightstands were so nice too. You did an awesome job as always & I’m very thankful for the tips you gave us as always😊
You are too kind, thank you so much for everything. So glad you're following along! Yes, you should definitely try some sort of DIY tree! It is very fulfilling to watch it come together and because of the huge price difference over retail, you really have a very satisfied feeling when you finish one up. I liked this one because the style was supposed to be minimal anyway so you didn't have to use a ton of branches to achieve the look. 😃
Really well done. You did a great job of this. The ribbon is a fantastic touch.
Thank you! 😊
Wow! That faux tree is an amazing dupe… so close to the West Elm tree. Very well done! I envy you that you can walk out on your property to find stems and tree branches. Unfortunately I live in a senior community in Texas where those things aren't readily available. But I'm not giving up! I will find the makings of that tree somewhere! And I appreciate how specific you are about how to attach all the different branches, even down to stripping some of the rubber off them. So helpful!
You are so welcome and I hope you can find yourself a good branch somewhere soon! Just a thought, but if you can't find a big one to make a seven or eight foot one, you can still make one on a smaller scale. I've noticed that the designers are also using baby trees and topiaries. So I think that making one of these that's only three or four feet tall would play well also--like you have one that's just starting out!
Roses?!? I didn’t know those still existed! I haven’t seen one since I left my small Virginia hometown 23 years ago! That made me smile. I’m subscribing because that diy citrus tree is awesome!! I have been in love with that West Elm citrus tree, but I am not paying that! Gonna try it! Really enjoyed your video.
Same about Roses! I do have one close by but it's funny because before moving here I hadn't seen one in years and I have no idea where the next closest one is. It worked out though 😊 Yay! Try the tree!!! Glad to have you!
That is so interesting about the nightstand! I have never heard that before!
I love how you room turned out, the shades and tree, awesome!
Thank you so much! 😊 Me too, as someone who is not a student of design, I learned a lot researching that!
Great room makeover. The DIY tree was an incredible dup!!!!! It turned out gorgeous. For aging the lamp crevices... I brush on some matte brown eyeshadow , then wipe it back to the desired effect. It gives it a very soft shadowy look. I would love to find those bamboo shades at my thrift store. I have been wanting them ,but they are kind of expensive for the size of my windows. THe artwork over the bed is perfect! Hobby Lobby has a section of knobs and hooks in cast iron . Maybe you could find a unique one for hanging on that black ribbon, Great look!
Great ideas! Thank you 😊
I like your tree even better than West Elm's! Awesome curtain hacks on those grommets (I hadn't seen that one before). I also hadn't heard those awesome nightstand height conventions. Thanks!
Thank you! 😊
Your citrus tree diy is a great dupe of the West Elm one … you are so creative, and do a great job sharing your ideas and processes!!
Thank you so much! 😊
You have such great tips!!! And you explain so much! I love your videos!
Your tree looks better than the West Elm one! Wow! Love your channel!!!
Thank you so much! I'm so happy with the way it turned out too 🙂 it makes me want to do more... 😜
The tree turned out great, I love it. 💞

Thanks so much! 😊
Looks amazing ❤️
Love the bedroom redo. Its so beautiful and I love the neutral colors. And that tree was awesome. ❤
Thank you so much!
Brilliant makeover. Love it! Wish our thrift stores in Scotland had the range of stuff you seem to have ❤️
Thank you! 😊 Hope you can find a hidden treasure somewhere soon though... 🤞🏼
Thanks for the wire cutter tip on the needle nose pliers! I never new that before today. ❤ your channel.
You're welcome 🤗 Thanks for watching!
The room is lovely. I love everything you have done to make it so cozy and warm.

Hi Tasha 👋
The bedroom turned out ❤️ you did amazing on the tree & that little stool is so cute ! Always so excited to see a new video from you
This is just gorgeous! I have been wanting to alter my grommet curtains for a while now, so thank you so much for the trick with the clips. Also, just love the bed linens. So airy and warm. I have used duvets since I was little bitty and adore them! Can't wait to see your cover with the duvet insert. It's going to be over the top soft and opulent 😍 Thank you for sharing your creativite ideas with us!
Thank you so much 😊 I appreciate you watching!

Her voice is soothing and I try to save her for right before I go to sleep....such a lovely girl. 😊

I'm so glad! Thanks for watching ☺️
I love the idea of your tree it’s beautiful ❤
Thank you! I am very happy with how it turned out :)
L0ve the master bedroom!!
Loving that you used ribbon to hang a picture, so awesome!
Thank you! 😊
That Tree is 🔥
Great ideas in this video 👍
All of these are amazing! I especially loved the blind hack, I love the look of bamboo blinds but I've never bought them because I sleep in the day so I need blackout shades. Now I can have both so thank you!❤
Right? And if you buy bamboo shades that are blackout retail it would cost you an arm and a leg! The ones I showed as cops were not even blackout. So glad you found the idea useful. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant 💜💜💜 the best tree I've ever seen! The curtain hack 🤯 the gourmets and the hem and the ribbon on the picture!! Your best all your videos are awesome but this was BRILLIANT thanks for sharing your hacks and creativity...I love to thrift store shop 💜💜
Thanks so much 😊 You're too kind!
I love the curtain idea. I've never been fond of grommets. This idea is going on my curtains. Also loved the tree. It turned out beautifully.
Thanks so much! 😊
You did a beautiful makeover 😍
Thank you! 😊
Wow, your tree looks amazing! I like it better than the $400 one. You give me courage to try something like this! Your lamps came out really well, too! Great job on your bedroom, really nice.
Go for it! Thanks for watching ☺️
Your window treatment ideas were great and that tree you made turned out so well. I think the brown wood of the bedside tables are better than black would be.
Beautiful love it all.
Thanks so much 😊
love the faux tree and bench
Thank you! :)
Love your ideas
Thank you! 😊
Love everything you did!!! Great job!
Thanks so much! 😊
Wonderful job on the tree. I learned something new today. You are very talented. Love your videos.
Thanks so much 😊
I just subscribed. I really enjoyed this thanks for sharing
Awesome! Thank you, so glad to have you 😊
Looks great
Thanks!
Hi Tasha...I am so impressed. I think you could be an interior decorator. I bet all of your friends ask for your help. First, the tree came out perfect. It came out just as good or better than the 399.00 plus one. My husband and I like to do stuff like that, but have to say I dont think ours would be that good. I love the curtain hacks, the lamps were such a good makeover and loved the coffee u added ..definitely liked the defining touch on the lamps. I loved ypur bedding. My friends think I am crazy. You never know how many times a year I will change out the bedrooms. For Fall I thrifted Pottery Barn curtains...four panels. I sewed two together for a comforter and used the other two as curtains. They were a beautiful Fall pattern. Four panels were about five hundred dollars on the Pottery Barn site. I paid ten dollars at an estate sale. I loved them, but Christmas came and I did red plaid , then Spring is coming so did blue and white. We thrift everything we can. Like one viewer said you are such an inspiration, you explain everything ( loved the little bench lesson ), and it is like you are right here with us. The pictures you have are so pretty. My attic is my place we keep all our thrifted pictures lol. You never know when we want to switch out pictures too. Thanks Tasha....so glad u came up on my feed. I hope it helps you when u get views on older videos too. Take care ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Rita! I get the urge to change things out frequently too. Thrifting is the only way you can really do that without spending all your money haha. The idea about using curtains to make a comforter is really interesting! Recently I've been wondering about making my own kantha quilt. We'll see what materializes... Thank you for watching as always ☺️
@@TashaatHome Just thrift a cheap quilt. That how I make different comforters. I thrifted a set of plaid flannel sheets and just sewed it on to the ugly quilt.
Wow I'm gonna do the grommet hack
Yaaay!
Tasha I love how the tree turned out... I'm even inclined to say that yours looks better!
Thank you!!
Found two brand new sets of linen sheets for $13 at goodwill at two different times. They were off white and from target orig.
@@brenmanock whaaaat that's awesome, lucky you!! I've noticed from other UA-camrs that their stores seem to get target returns and afterstock donated. My area doesn't do that but it sounds awesome.
Came up on this channel by accident and loved your creativity. I had to subscribe. Awesome .
Thank you, so glad to have you here!
I just love how you transform things❤. I’m determined to make a tree like yours! Wish me luck🤣.
Yaaay! Good luck and you can do it! I'm sure it will look good!
I love everything you did!❤
Thank you so much!
Beautiful tree❤❤❤❤
Thank you! 🤗
Also, thanks for the curtain hacks!!! Now I’m gonna try to use existing curtains that I love instead of buying new!😮❤🌻
You are so welcome!
Oh my gosh! I was thinking black stain for the nightstands! Maybe while thrifting keep an eye out for a simple peg or decorative hook for the frame. So lovely Tasha 🥰 and thanks for the research on nightstands and lamps!
Great minds...black stain, and also I was thinking "I need a fancier hook as I edited!" Thanks for watching.
Your diy tree looks better than the expensive one!!! Thanks for these ideas as I plan to refresh my home😊
Yay, thank you! Tis the season for a refresh 🤩
Excellent
I love your videos! You really are inspirational!
Thank you so much!
Oh my gosh… these hacks are so good. I had no idea you could do that to bamboo blinds. Mind blown, lol. The curtains too. Unfortunately my cats would have a field day on the tree😂 I love that you did everything from start to finish with a small budget, and your own creativity. Your bedroom refresh looks amazing Tasha. Thank you for the great tips.
Thank you! 😂 Uh oh, no the DIY tree wouldn't survive a cat attack I'm afraid... Thanks for watching!!
Fantastic make over!
Thank you! 😊
Another awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Everything is wonderful! Greetings from Romania!
Hello! Thank you!!
Great video. The tree looks awesome. I would probably paint the pot with baking powder too.
☺️ I will!
I love how everything came out! I really did love the big print over your bed, but I really couldn’t tell how well it match the rug. How are you enjoying your Brooklyn Bedding?
Thank you! I truly love the linen sheets. I've been a big fan of sleeping on linen for about two years and this is my favorite set. They aren't silky or "buttery soft" as people say about some man-made materials but that's what I like about them. The naturally rougher texture is a unique cozy feel to me and I haven't gone back haha. Thanks for watching!
You've done a fabulous job on your bedroom I loved evert project. I think of could use both you pictures cross the top of the bed. I thought they complimented each other beautifully, and you certainly have the width to use up. Anyway the room is great and thattree you've done is better than the inspiration tree.
Thank you! Actually had those two pictures like that previously and I guess I was looking to change things up 😅 much appreciated!
You did such a great job on your tree. I was a little skeptical at first, but it turned out beautifully. I'm a newer subscriber, and I really enjoy your content.😊
Thanks so much! 😊 I totally get being skeptical at first--I feel that way at the start of most of my own projects 😅 Plus I was mostly working on it on early mornings before the others were up. So the lighting is questionable at best in the shots where I'm assembling it haha. Thanks so much for being here and for watching!
Hello from Paraguay. I just discovered your channel and subscribed😊
👋🏼👋🏼 Hi! Thanks for joining me! ☺️
Everything looks very nice. I wouldn't bother doing anything with the nightstands. ❤🌞
Tasha, you're doing such a phenomenal job on your videos!!❤❤❤ Wonderful content & flow!! (Incase you are wondering)😉
I've never thought to check out Rose's for lamp shades!🤯 my fav are the bamboo shades! I love the black-out hack AND the curtain hack. I'm definitely going to try that in my son's room. I already have a stash of clips!
Thanks for sharing. Very inspiring my friend! God bless🥰🙏
Oh! And thank you for sharing the discount with Brooklinen! I'm going to check them out💯
Thank you so much!! You're too kind 😊
I like your tree better Gorgeous The lamps came out beautiful. I have done similar technique on some vases. Great job on the makeover.
Thank you! 😊 I appreciate you watching!
Your citrus tree looks exactly like the expensive one I’m gonna try it thanks
I love it! Give it a shot :)
Hi instead of a picture hook use a round cabinet knob to hang the picture above the bed.
I'm definitely gonna try the curtain clip hack 😅
Yaaay!
I did my walls with dried tea, also tea water..
I would not change the colour of the nightstands into black, to my opinion this dark brown matches better than black the more warm colours of the room - espacially with those shades now. (The black head of the bed is not visible because of all the pillows (obviously typical for US beds?)).
Thanks for all the other good ideas and wonderful inspirations! 🎉
Greetings from Germany! ❤
👋🏼👋🏼 Thanks for the input and thanks for watching! 😊
Poop emoji bean bag chair! Hilarious!
Your tree looks identical! Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Roses! The Rose family are from my hometown in Henderson, NC! That citrus tree was better than the West Elm one in my opinion! 👏
I'm so glad I checked Rose's for lampshades! To be honest, I wasn't very hopeful that they would have many options. I thought they might have a couple lamps but only the slimmest hope that they would have separate shades you could even buy. I was so pleasantly surprised!
You can use a heat gun on the leaves to help them fall magically into a natural position.
Nice🌳
I no longer like the grommet top curtains and have several in my house, thanks for the great idea!
You are so welcome!
I love the black out idea, I’ve been wanting bamboo blinds, but the added blackout products are pricey.
Yes! The comps I showed were not even black out 😳 That really adds up per window. Thanks for watching!
Wow ..mind blown. Such great ideas! I was thinking the night stands might look good with a stain the same color as the picture frame over the bed. It would tie them together with the color story of the bedding, I think black might be jarring with all the softness going on. Just a thought.
Good thoughts and thanks for watching! So far the nightstands are unchanged :)
The night stands would look great in pewter green by Sherwin Williams
That tree turned out amazingly. I loved the lamps. Was that baking powder or baking soda? Thanks for great ideas and inspiration.
Love the tree yours looks way better than the West Elm tree
Thank you!!
