Human brains are fascinating. It's a Monday, January 8th 2024 and while ascending the steps to work this song spontaneously plays in my mind. Had to look it up immediately to nurse the memory. I'm so happy to be a gen X'r.

if i remember correctly this track was a pretty big hit here in Aus. I remember mikey and paul on Triple j almost played this one on repeat in the mornings! ahh back when JJJ was more than just woke indy trash.
I was only about 9 or 10 when i shared this song in my primary school music class as a "show and tell" thing we did. The whole class looked at me like i was an idiot besides the music teacher, who was an alternative looking chilled out awesome teacher. She defended me as if to say "This kid already appreciates great music". Still love this song!
No shit!!! I first heard this middle of the night in high school and have been completely unsuccessful in finding it since then, here we are 20 years later and it randomly hits in a playlist.
Dear lord. Finally. I thought I had hallucinated this song and no one ever knew wtf I was talking about when I tried to describe it. I remember seeing it all the time on 120 minutes on late night MTV. But it eventually faded from memory. But hear it is, I found it on the 14th page of google search. The song is real. Real good.
1996. It was a pretty big hit at the time. Greg Kurstin (the guy in the passenger seat) went on to become a big producer and is also one half of The Bird and the Bee.
Over 20 years later and this this managed to stay somewhere stuck in my brain. Used to actually listen to the song on the radio while driving. Thought it was hilarious. I definitely wanted to thank some people for letting me change lanes and hurt the one's who didn't.
Boston's 101.7 WFNX...Providence's 95.5 WBRU...thank you for playing this song back in 1996 and beyond and introducing me one of my favorite songs of all time!
I don’t know why I suddenly thought of this tune but it took me right back to being 13 in Calgary. For some reason I remember biking an overpass by Chinook Mall. I must’ve been listening to it on my Walkman at the time. Great 90s flashback.
First time i heared this song i was in Dc, meet a family during a ceremony for organ donation. I lost my brother and buddy lost his sister.he played this song...hope your doing well
My brain hadn't accessed song in probably 27 years, until this morning when I was getting ready to go to work. I only heard it a few times on Orlando's WJRR between '94/'96. There were way way way too many good bands breaking out back then and you had to be very selective at the music store unless you were a rich kid. So these guys are among many that got lost in the mix (to me at least). Good stuff. Maybe I need to dig up their album/s🤔
The opening of this album with Grandpa always cracked me up. "Why don't you call the new album Geggy Tah 2? Use the same dog... people are used to that"
doin the same exact thing at this very moment, but I was around 16 and I remember driving around Dallas and this coming on and how fitting it was cuz we were on the highway. lol

Delighted to share that I had the exact same experience a year later, to the day, and came to write the same thing!
This never sounds old. As fresh and infectious as the day it came out. Easily one of the top 50 singles of the nineties.
I had a hard time convincing my friends that this was actually a song and not just a cool jingle about road safety....
I started singing this song one day when someone gave me the right of way, and my sister in law insisted I made it up lol.
@@stevejones4431 thats the same kind of situation I was in!!
@@robalatre we must be around the same age 👍
Omgosh I was 13 when this 💎 came out❤️💯

I haven't heard this in like 25 years!! Blast from the past!
I won tickets to Q101's Twisted Christmas 3 by correctly naming this band and the song. Thanks Geggy Tah!
Here in Western Australia, they recently started using this song for an ad campaign about giving courtesy while driving 🚙🎶🎵

I have not heard this in over 2 decades. Found it cruising through a playlist. Thanks!
This cut is stellar, funktastic 90's gold! That keyboard break is like Soul on a Roll. Attaboys, Geggy Tah.
One of the best songs in the world.
No shit!!! I first heard this middle of the night in high school and have been completely unsuccessful in finding it since then, here we are 20 years later and it randomly hits in a playlist.

All I want to do is to thank the person who uploaded this video.
I saw them live back in the mid 90s, I was in St. Petersburg Florida and they were completely awesome!!

Where was your college?
Used to play this on my college radio show back in 1996 or 1997! Such weird music came out in the 90’s!
This tells you all about safe driving, because, safe driving begins with you! Remember the rules of the road! I especially like the club scene!
Congrats, Mr. Kurstin, on the ASCAP Golden Note award. Well deserved!
All I want to do is thank you!
Still love this song, and the whole album. At about the 1:20 point, I swear the guy's voice sounds like the guy from Yes singing!
Hahah! I've loved this song since I was 16 but never saw the video! Thank you to whomever posted it!
This song has a "World Party" kind of feel to it...........aweome.

This is one of those songs that you hate with a passion but it sticks in your head so you just have to hear it.
Thank you Petco radio for getting this song so stuck in my head that I had to finally look it up when I got home.
Ever since I started working there...
At first I thought it was the most annoying song in the world...
And now I cant get enough of it
Petco brought me here too 😂

I love this fucking song! Everyone should listen to it while driving and be happy, instead of pulling their guns out and killing people.
Chill driving!!! Got to love it ;)
the funny thing is that I actually got my driver's license while driving to this tune!
I have loved this crazy little gem for a long time ♥️
It took my boyfriend 10 years to find this song, now we could, thanks to me of course! Haha finally!
Literally the best song and best video. Ever! Still! Maybe it was obvious that Geggy Kurstin would get so big.
I keep hearing this song at work ( Petco ) had to look it up. Funny bizarre song lol
This is super educational. Whoever you are, I want to thank you. :) x
i like the awesome trumpet solo sign hehe
I was addicted to this song during my freshman year of high school! I'd listen to this & Gary Numan all day long. That was like the Fall of '96!
The opening of this album with Grandpa always cracked me up. "Why don't you call the new album Geggy Tah 2? Use the same dog... people are used to that"
thanks chatgpt, today you found these for me after thinking for ages that I would never listen to it again
Awesome sauce! Been so long since I seen this video. Thanks!
Haven't heard this song in 15 years thank you triple j
One of the best bands to come out of the Pomona/Claremont area, they should have been breakouts, plus they could jam all night!
