I purchased an RTL-SDR and was disappointed I needed a better antenna to pick up something outside of FM. Being able to surf and use this equipment remotely filled my time in the evening and allowed me to play using WebSDR. Had a blast and motivated me to find a great antenna or two. Thanks for sharing, your videos are very informative.
Thanks for the comment! This is exactly why most people who start off in SDR quit because they don't realise a half decent antenna is required. Thanks for sharing your story.
This is a great general explanation of websdr's, but how about a video of exactly how to and when to use different filtering, what to look for in a waterfall, where to place your cursor, when to and why you would use USB over LSB or AM, IQ, NBFM, what do all the extensions do and what is "WF" and why would you change max/min/rate, what do the various tabs do and when would you change each, what the filters do and when to use them, etc. Most of the interface is self-explanatory but there are a lot of nuances of the control panel I think need some detailed explanation. It would be very helpful to new people to the hobby, including myself ;-) Thanks!
Thanks for the video :) When you've turned the SDR receiver on via Spy Network, a man said his call sign EM9FF/p. I think the SDR console is more flexible than WebSDR.
I use a local OpenWebRX WebSDR to compare the performance of antennas on transmit. The readings in dBm may not be especially precise, but it is very handy if you want a rough relative indication.
Can you recommend a preferred way to do this on an ipad? I think i just need an app that will connect to spyserver network? Thanks for your time and all the videos!
@@TechMindsOfficial thank you! You had mentioned that you were going to make a video dedicated to kiwi sdr, I wasn't able to find it. Could you provide a link?
I stumbled on your channel and I now use the KiwiSDR, I love it. I am still exploring what it does, I know I'm late on posting here but can you explain some of the other functions like the noise blankers etc I tried them but some knock out the signal altogether, I also notice a lot of statons seem to be slightly off frequency, what I mean is in the WRTH handbook they may be listed at such and such but if I tune up or down they become clearer, some I find hard to identify mainly coz of language, I sit and listen waiting for the announcment and sods law it fades at that moment lol.
I've read several comments with respect to WWV and loving to listen to it. I'm not sure I get it, what's the thrill of listening to the time over and over again on WWV?
Good video but could you please do a video on how to fully download and install the airspy download as I cant find a detailed video. There is one but it isnt very clear and looks totally different to what I see on my screen. Thanks
This is very interesting but for those of us that have no background knowledge nor prior experience, this is incredibly overwhelming as it provides no starting point. Yes, I can go to webSDR and poke around but even that has created more questions than answers. I’m sure this video wasn’t aimed at first time users- and by no means am I attempting to diminish the value of the authors hard work and effort spent on this video or be maliciously critical and dismissive, but I was hoping that I could take some of the info here and work my way into it.
I do have a beginners guide video on the channel. If you watch it and have further questions please feel free to ask and I will answer them. Maybe in another video too. Thanks 🙏
I am 80 yrs old, I use a radio for SWLing but this in my opinion is cheating as an operator has to add on SDR receiver and feed from his countries signals you would not hear under present HF conditions on line as it comes straight down a telephone line it is to easy ,doing away with the excitement of long distance DX.. I would rather stick to HF listening the conventional and well proven way...M1EDF CW OP ONLY..

Thanks for the video. Being in a poor HF area, the web SDR's are a fantastic option and thanks to all those who make their RX's available.
Brilliant! I’ve used SDR# for over 4yrs and never knew this!!! Thankyouu!!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching 🙏

Gives us great ability to use £££s worth of kit without the outlay, what’s not to like Matt 👍👏👏
Good one! thanks ... will use this to get my nephew into the hobby 🙂
Have fun!
Thank You !!! As like everybody else commenting, dint know this was possible. Cheers !
You’re welcome!
nice video again, i used KIWI but the others I am gonna use soon Thanks
works great, mine only at sun set due solarpanel converters grr, wel, got a xphase2 ,so some supression is there.

I though this was going to be some cheesy bs... I was happily surprised by the huge scope of tool extensions on kiwi sdr.
Welcome to the channel 🙏

Unfortunately I havnt managed to acquire a Kiwi SDR as of yet. I will make some enquires and hopefully once I have one I will do a video series. 🙌

I had no idea you could do this. I just open WebSDRs in a browser tab but then you get insane drift. My faxes are wavey as hell
I think this would be preferred for your home base so you can listen remotely without having to connect multiple devices to the antenna.
My Websdr was in the video!!! N4BUT
Wow! Thanks for sharing your websdr
I love using the WebSDR to listen to the WWV time station. I’m too far away to get it myself unfortunately.

Guy's, is there any way to integrate the SDR into the internet for the long range data transmission ?..if so kindly mention the possible way !..
Thanks for sharing this
You’re welcome!
Will have to try this.
Thanks a lot, this is what i was looking for, like and sub of course!
This is really great ... thanks for this !!!
Got a question I set up AirSpy SDR Server when I look for it in spy Server directory it says unreachable Any suggestions???
What did ham-radio operators do prior to the internet?
What does a ham operator do when the internet towers go down?
Are you kidding? I'm guessing yes.
Amazing, any other software to listen without sdr hardware?
What's best option to do this on andriod phones?
What do you mean? You should be able to just video the web pages that contain the websdr and it should work.
Kiwi SDR app in the play store.
I'm new to this so I have a dumb question. How come my ADS-B web app for android only shows khz. Can I somehow get Mix frequencies?
Above shows mix I mean Mhz
in the sdr console i see the same water fall no matter if i change the freq
Can i used dsd+ software to decode digital audio?
Yep, just route your browser audio to something like VB Audio Cable and then use DSD+ to receive that.
@@TechMindsOfficial Sir, it's too complicated for me can you make video on it?
As lways, Very interesting...

Hi
This "SDR Radio" tool, aka "SDR Console" is a horrible amateur job.
THIS is not WITHOUT SDR hardware, it is WITH SOMEONE hardware !!! clever you..
Yeh but having a title that says “how to use someone else’s SDR” sound a bit naff! A bit like your comment.
@@TechMindsOfficial Right ! but, better the truth than a lie as in the title
but the truth always upsets
WAY TOO MANY Ad interruptions!
How many ads did you see? And we’re they skippable?
Tech Minds 4 and I quit before the clip finished. The ones I encountered were skippable, after a time.
