For Nothing is Wasted co-founder, Kristi Blackburn, learning to be a place of refuge and healing for her husband, Davey, and son, Weston, years after they lost their first wife and mom, Amanda, has been no simple task. In the messiness of grief, blending families, and navigating the impact of trauma, Kristi has had to step into the call of being a wife and mother without a manual but only the grace of God to guide her. She has had to learn how to do it all from a place of faith and not fear, while also tending to her own story of shame, loss and grief. While it hasn't been easy, she has found that in the midst of it all, God has given her the strength and wisdom she has needed to be a source of healing and help to both Davey and Weston as they continue to put the pieces together of their shattered hearts.
In this heartwarming episode, Davey and Kristi have the opportunity to share candidly about what it has been like to step into each other's pain, the difference between redemption and restoration, and how to parent kids who have faced the unimaginable.

I read the book in few days in vacation its such a great book, I cried few times. I really saw God into this! What a legacy Amanda left. She was a true believer that really loved God. May God bless you both and keep spreading the love of God because nothing is waisted.

Thank you pastors 😢 The operating out of fear really clicked and hit me, the concern to bring something up etc after losing my wife and now being in an amazing relationship 😭 God is sooo good, so, so good. He knows just what we need...and just at the right time. I am thinking about the comparison thing, I think of Saul trying to fit David with his armor, and for David, it didn't feel right, so he refused it when he was going to go and fight Goliath. We have to fight the battles with what God has fitted for us. On a side note, we met a Mark Miller from Indianapolis, a few weeks ago, he serves with a missionary organization, any way, I asked if he knew you Davy and he said, "Actually, I know his wife Kristi better as my daughters went to school with Kristi." We thought that was pretty cool and realizing that being in the family of God puts us all in close proximity. :)

The podcast great but we need to hear more of Kristi's childhood and the person she was married to and why the divorce and how her children we re able to process being isolated from their dad.... kindly open up some more on these areas
