Great video! I am planning my first trip to Fort Lauderdale. I am usually ALWAYS a Key West guy and stay at the Equator there. I am planning on staying at The Grand in Fort Lauderdale. Thanks for all the food tips for Wilton Manors!
I'm planning a trip to Wilton Manors with a friend and it will be my first time there too. It's confusing trying to figure out what hotels, etc, are closest to the fun.
Thanks for sharing your holidays. It is so creative and fun looking. I'm so happy to see how much fun you had. Those foods though 😤. I'm cooking as I'm watching this and it got double thinking about my own 😂😂. I'm glad to have met your videos, Happy New year to you both and I wish you both a blissful and happy life. 😊💙💙
Ditto, my husband is 28 years younger than me. Dated him for 2 years and now married for 5 years. He’s 38 and I’m 65. He calls me his silver fox and I call my bodyguard, lol. We definitely make a sharp couple. We have a condo in FLL, at The Seasons. You MUST try The Casablanca Cafe on A1A and Alhambra. Just across from Sebastian Street Beach- gay beach.
Was in Wilton Manors at Christmas one year ago pre-Covid after LA to FL Panama Canal cruise and stayed at Ed Lugo's which I would totally book again due to great location, meeting Ed himself who was quite charming and personable and the wonderful treats left in the room nightly. Weather was not great with rain and clouds but temps were warm. I live in Palm Springs and saw more rain in a week than we see in 4 months but that does give the area a beautiful lushness to the landscape we do not get in the desert. I was not impressed by Rosie's but there was a great Greek restaurant to the south on Wilton Manors Blvd. near city hall that was outstanding. But the most memorable place was a bar with a simple name which of course I can't recall at the moment located right in the center of the action on the west side of the street which was incredibly beautiful with one of the best back patios I have ever seen anywhere. My traveling companion owns a bar in San Diego, 'The Loft", and that place really gave him ideas on how to significantly upgrade. Also memorable was the veteran bartender there who really knew what he was doing and made interesting and unusual drinks and was totally entertaining in his own right. Thanks for taking us along on your trip. Can't wait until the vaccines kick in and we can comfortably resume travel. Have a good time in Key West. Went there years ago in July to learn to SCUBA at Key Largo and while Miami was sweltering, Key West was wonderful with its ocean breezes just like Hawaii. You guys make a great couple so keep making memories and thanks again for taking us along.
Calypso is so much fun... specially if you are single. It does depend on what you are looking for & I have never had a bad time staying there while at Wilton Manors. In fact I have had some epic times there. The owner is very flexible and the staff treat you very well. The nightlife in Wilton is phenomenal as well... no Hunter's, Eagle, Monkey, Gym, The Pub covered on this one. Can't wait to get back to Wilton!
Thanks for all the recommendations, I have a place in Fort Lauderdale and have never been to half of these place. Roses is a lot go fun, I always get the fish tacos its awesome.

But due to this Covid shit I was not able to travel to the Sunshine State this winter season. Heading to Fort Lauderdale @ the end of April and staying at Pillars hotel & club (non gay) for one night then at the 🍍 Pineapple point resort.and then at the Hilton on Fort Lauderdale Beach due to lack of availability at Pineapple. Your review of the Calypso Inn is fair. I have stayed there a lot, because of it's great location. They owners have made improvements, but last year one of them had health issues so things may of fell through the cracks. I have met a lot of great people there, which is easy due to it's small size. I'm from Florida (Tampa), but have relatives all over south Florida and I spent A LOT of time in the Fort Lauderdale/Wilton Manors area. A friend of mine works at The Grand. I really like it, but I prefer (at least) a clothing optional pool. The place I stayed at the most closed down. I have stayed at several of the places that Brian mentioned. One of my favorites it The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa on NE 26th St. in Wilton Manors. Not walking distance to "central" Wilton Manors, but not far either. The thing I like most is they have 2 pools. The larger pool can get a little busy, but the smaller pool is great. I usually get a room close to the smaller pool. Check out their webpage if you go down to FTL again. I had a trip planned down there and was going to stay at The Big Coconut Guesthouse, but a hurricane cancelled those plans. :( The Worthington/Alcazar used to be rather bath house-ish, but has calmed down a bit. Mainly because they let anybody and everybody in during the day....it's as crowded as Disney!! If I want to be crowded and hassled, I'll stay home.
Thanks for the input, Carl! We did love The Grand, although we also thought it was odd there wasn’t clothing optional by the pool. Cabanas is a place we’ve been meaning to check out - maybe that’s our next stop! Thanks again😁
@@OutLoudJB we prefer Fantasy Island since it's clothing optional and has king size beds. The shared "kitchen" with complimentary snacks is also a big plus. Island Sands it very lovely as well and quite relaxing. It's a more classic B&B with daily breakfast served to your room. Both are on the same street (around the corner from Calypso) and just a few houses down from Wilton Drive. Can't recommend either enough.
We love to travel but my hubby being 97 has trouble getting around, so we do cruises, but I would still like to get a plane and go places, and he says just go have fun (I can't have fun traveling by myself!). A friend wants us to join him in a home sharing a 'Home Exchange' for a whole year in Tuscany, exchanging his home for their home - which I would love, love, love to do. But can't convince hubby to do that says he's too immobile and slow. And he is right I'm afraid and this why you guys have to LIVE, LIVE, LIVE each day. We do and we did, but sadly we can't do as much any more. So we rely on Cruise ships, where he can take his EV scooter. Sometimes hubby does not even get off the ship depending on how steep the gangway is. The stay will help a great deal but he does not want to be a bother. This is sad for both of us. Live guys, Live it up.
BTW: we absolutely love the drive down to Key West and the 7-mile bridge is fantastic, you feel like your at sea you can't seen land for most of the drive.

Going to ask why avoid Fort Lauderdale, Miami is great but you are paying for it, if yo are looking for gay life miami isn't that great any more, it has only three or four gay bars that are anything special the others are dives.

Going to ask why avoid Fort Lauderdale, Miami is great but you are paying for it, if yo are looking for gay life miami isn't that great any more, it has only three or four gay bars that are anything special the others are dives.
Nice
Could easily be a cute place. Way to many colors
I really like the channel. I also think that you boys are so cute. So please don't take anything I say as I am a hater. Fisrt I like to thank you for coming to our community. We really need the money. Unemployment is big in this area. I live few blocks away from the beach and have not been to the beach in over a year. Covid has hit my family really bad had 3 very close members of my family test positive. Lost a very close friend and a cousin. I understand the need to come to Florida. We have the best weather until we have a hurricane headed this way lol!!!!!! Hopefully you guys come back when all this is done. Stay safe wear your masks and stay away from the maskless bieaches lol
Wilting Manners is tired. Weeds growing through the walls is bo surprise.
Yeah vegetation growing out of the baseboards is a big no no for me lol 😂
We had a big flood a month before they came down. Its probably a seed that flotted in the wall some how.
Omg right!? It was a little crazy
Go easy on us we have a lot on our plate right now with the pandemic. A lot of people have gotten sick and even died. The important thing is that no one judges you.
@@jbalseq4859 Hey..I’m sorry I didn’t mean any harm. I understand that it has been very hard on the hospitality industry with Covid. Best of luck 🤞and God Bless!
That did it for me.
Obviously not very clean
That looks like a months worth of growth
lived in ftl for a bit, much better places to eat than cheesecake factory on las olas.
I know I know. Lol we had a gift card so it is what it is! What’s you favorite spot?!
@@OutLoudJB on las olas i love louie bossi, there is a lot a place called Lona and that’s on the beach! The grilled cheese place in wilton is also amazing!
There is nothing wrong with the cheesecake factory, it's not costly and another mention Louie bossi there you are paying a lot of money, I have eaten there and it's nice but you Eddie V is a lot better.
David Heatley and Justin Pullin
