Actually I have been to NCC camps when in 7th, 8th grade to be trained under these army guys. I used to hate them but soon realized they are rude but are good and very caring at heart. It’s their style just being in army it’s just the culture. I am sure they behave the same way with their own kids to a certain extent.

I wouldn't consider that abuse just really strict training, but I do agree positive reinforcement is always the best way to train whether your human or an animal. I'll never forget when I was about 10 saw this lady training a dog and everytime the dog did not do the command the trainer had something in their hand, I think it was like a short whip, and would hit the dog. I was with my sister and two cousins and we finally started yelling at the person telling them that's abuse and we're going to call the cops. I remember the lady telling us that it's not abuse, this is how you train a dog. We ran home and called then walked back, but she was gone.
