I am watching from S1E01...this is S1E05... All the episodes are so so awesome, I wish I get lot of such smiliar episodes, bringing my childhood memories back ! Lot of time and man hours would be spent to get these video footages. Great work! I'm much of a train fan, Traveling to native / grandparents place( From a place called bangalore to Kerela Alleppy) in India from childhood, most of my 1000kms journey would be evening 7PM to morning 7am, I used to stay awake in night to have a count of street lights in desolated stretch, a pocket FM and headphones along with the music of the rails, do some interesting stuffs 😂 We had around 15-20 major stations and brief stops picking up passengers and goods, I used to ( and still do 😁) get down off the train in stations grab a coffee from coffee guys, keeping my eyes on the distant train signal switching from red - orange and green so I can safely board,we had manual doors and still do have Manual doors in most of our passenger trains, except few new models and superfast trains. Unforgettable memories :)
Belo video amigo, gosto muito das ferrovias AUSTRALINA. Tenho varios videos no canal do Youtebe aqui das ferrovias Brasileira, Tenho até uma cabine de simulador em casa.
Rode the Ghan from Adelaide to Pimba, then was going to walk to Woomera but some folks gave me a lift. We also rode the Indian Pacific from Adelaide to Sydney in first class. This was October 1994
rode the ghan a few times however ROAD TRAINS far more exciting than the hugely boring train .in ALICE i mingled with road train personnel now thats ? real aussie memory.
CANNOT BELIEVE YOU DID NOT SHOW THE WELDED AREA THAT WAS DIED. SHOWED US THE NEW FROG- BEAUTIFUL WORK BTW.. BUT NOT THE WELDED/PATCHED SECTION.. BUMMER
What a maneuver! The two trains had to be lined up perfectly with constant radio contact to the driver for what? Two tiny boxes of scallops? I thought they'd be fire brigading hundreds of pounds of food. Shoulda just thrown them to the manager as the train was passing.
You would think that with such heavy traffic running on a single line, over vast distances, the RR would’ve added a second parallel line, with a lot of switch tracks, to ease up congestion. But of course, I believe everything comes down to $$$ and need.
At 7:45 he says, the trains are running over that point weighing 5000 tons each time they pass. That is NOT exactly right. The train may be 5000 tons, but the point of impact on the exact track point of the track, is only the weight of the carriage crossing over it. tell me I am wrong. And I will prove I am right... ie if 1 cow steps on your toe, you may yelp ouch, if a herd steps on your toe one after the other for 500 cows, you won't have a toe... lol
hats off to Australian railways, they put so much effort in their work, Australia a beautiful Country😊
I rode the Ghan 50 years ago when the rails were laid in the earth using no ties. 3 day trip. Lots of entertainers on the train too. Fun trip.
Good luck Allie Hume, i hope you make a great driver.

Jeff and Bruce are the true Ozzy Heroes!
This was quite an enjoyable video. Educating too.
Not the real Ghan. That ended in 1980 with the closure of the 3'6" gauge line from Marree
Amazing movie! Thumbs Up

Seems like a very interesting topic, but the first minute already seems way too overdramatised. I'm unsure if I'll watch it.
Excelente vídeo

Really well done video. Brilliantly enjoyable.
Why Oh Why are all these kind of series Over Dramatized???
I know, it’s really old fashioned. Coming up, Dave and Shane have a problem on their hands. After the break

why dont they measure before they cut....

working on the tracks I see 5 people standing around and 3 people actually working. Yup. Sounds about right! SMH. lol
Developed countries put money where they see the future. Like this
Did Aussies never heard of measure twice, cut once?
What sort of a name is "Ghan" ? What does it mean ?

They sure work hard ------ at the phony drama.
Dropping documentaries by the train load.

This is Aussie's worst Train and I've seen N.Korea and Usa train altogether
Your contents are always magnificent..
